We stayed with our family and my neighbours family in 2 tents on the new muntjac meadow, 4 adults and 4 children in total, kids aged 3, 6, 6 and 11 and 1 dog.
Staff on arrival very helpful and friendly, we pitched near the dog run on the meadow, which was great for our dog to exercise away from the tents.
The porta cabin with the showers and toilets was smaller then expected and we found it difficult to shower the children with little room for drying and dressing, the weather was pretty grim for august which made it harder with muddy floors etc, there was no hairdryer, which we complained about as it said there would be one, but we were very pleased as one was installed the very next day, so kiddies could goto bed nice and dry.
Due to space in the amenities we decided it was easier to drive to the main site and use theirs which as other have reviewed were absolutely lush and we liked visiting 'the others' and used the laundry facilities there too.
The shop was well stocked with groceries and cigarettes.
We enjoyed the evening bon fire and the kids loved the whole stay, we walked in the woodlands, visited the duck ponds and went crabbing off cromer pier, also visited beaches at sherringham.
I do like free style pitching fields as they offer more privacy then marked out pitches, however due to facilites in the meadow I would stay on the main site as it was fantastic, however we spoke to the owners and as this year was their first and experimental they said they will take all comments on board and make changes for next summer, so I may well be back on the meadow
Super sites overall , 5* staff we left happy ;-)

Another summer holiday marred by our typical weather, none the less:
The caravan pitch we had was of a very generous size, as were the rest of the pitches.
The site was very wet and drainage was poor, pack your wellies and not an issue.
The campsite is in a very secluded position yet close enough to all the major North Norfolk seaside towns and attractions.
Only 4 toilets and 4 showers for each sex for the whole site, which are kept immaculately clean, but if you shower out of rush hour it would not be a problem.
Small shop on site stocking very basic supplies.
Site boasts a well stocked fishing lake but after 1 week I saw nothing come out. There are other fishing lakes close by, try the one on the A149, just after the roundbout.
We went deer hunting on several occasions and although we never saw any we did see some tracks, so they must be out there.
All things considered a very nice site and worth a repeat visit.

Just got back from a 7 night stay at this wonderful site. Have been the last two years with no major problems. No audible road noise at night , site keeps fairly quiet after dark (only couple of noisy families drinking / talking etc) and is very peaceful during day. Lovely walks around neighbouring lake and the main town of Cromer is a short drive away.
We arrived on site and staff very helpful with pitch etc. During our stay we had rain storm that basically flooded the site / pitches for a whole day. Our pitch was just liveable on afterwards but those who had to move were quickly dealt with by the staff.
Toilets/showers are just adequate for the amount of tents but when you add the caravans that sneak in and use them it may mean a 10 min wait for a hot shower. (they are always very clean and heated).
Overall we had a great stay and will be coming back so may see you there.

Well - what can I say that hasn't already been said about this site ??
A credit to the owners, 5 star toilet facilities and pitches. Immaculately kept at all times, the fishing was good and as for the criticism about the road noise, what a petty remark ! I am blessed with excellent hearing and it didn't bother me one bit !
The accent on the site is one of recycling which was a welcome change - even the waste water is treated!
We have just returned from a 6 day stay (we couldn't get 7 cos they were fully booked! which, now having experienced it doesn't surprise me)The weather wasn't the kindest to us but the pitches coped quite well with the torrential rain on one particular occasion.
If I had one criticism to make of the site, it would be the fishing lake - it looks as though it would fish better than it actually does, but I understand that there is a re-stocking programme in the pipeline.
Overall, an excellent site which I urge anyone to experience.

Just back from a weekend in the Muntjac meadow. Reception was very helpful on arrival, and we had a free choice of our pitch in the meadow, which is immaculately kept. Facilities are very clean and modern, and we didnt have to queue. Loads of villages and things to do within a 10 mile radius.
Our only niggles are that unfortunately we unknowingly pitched next to an arrogant group of youngsters who were singing / shouting / talking until around 2am. However, once they had left it was quite peaceful, but be warned, the road noise from the A140 can be a little intrusive. (we've had worse)
Anyway, it's well worth a stay if your in the area, but from what we saw of the main site, tents and caravans are crammed in. The muntjac is highly recommended for the money.

Just back from a week at deers glade. Loved the campsite, including the excellent shower / toilet / washing up facilities. Staff were helpful and the shop contained essentials. Excellent fishing pool. Our first time in this area and it took a few days to adjust to the early morning wildlife. Woodland walks were ok but found ourselves onto the roadways quite quickly and although we had wellies the forest pathways were very muddy due to overnight rain. We were a little disappointed there was no area / field at the campsite to run the dogs but the beach at Sherringham quickly became a favourite. All in all 8/10.

Wow! What a fantastic campsite! Never seen toilets and showers like it on a campsite - like a 4 star hotel, always clean and didnt have to queue. Lovely play area for children, couldn't keep them away from it. Cromer nearby and has lovely beach and fresh Cromer crabs which were really tasty. Didn't use the fishing lake but watched and saw people catching huge fish. We had such a wonderful time we have already booked to go again at the end of August. Thoroughly recommended

Had a great time at this site, staff were really helpful and facilities were always clean. The weather wasn't great but the pitch was well drained, although it was a little unnerving laying in bed with thunder and lightening crashing around! Everything seems really well thought out the only little gripe was that during half term when we were there 2 showers for ladies and 2 for gents per block were not quite enough but you didn't have to wait too long and I was always able to shower if I got up early. The Chinese take-away at The New Inn is really lovely and well packed so it stays hot. All in all a great site an we will be returning.

Just returned from our first camping holiday in our own tent. (2 adults and girls aged 9 and 13) Campsite is in a lovely setting and the facilties immaculate. As it rained heavily a couple of times whilst we were there the site was also able to demonstrate how well the drainage system worked!
The site is well placed for Cromer and Sheringham beaches and we also visited Sheringham park (a lovely National Trust site), and spent a great day out on the Broads on a day boat hired at Potter Heigham (Pheonix fleet electric day boats just other side of bridge gong out of village).
Would recommend crab fishing at Wells and the takeaway at the New Inn - fish and chips from chip shop at Roughton also good!
Only one gripe - posters around site say to be off pitch by 12 midday and arrivals after 2pm ; we were made to feel rushed when nearly ready to leave at 11.30 the next campers arrived to use our pitch!
Apart from that we had a lovely time and will return.

Fantastic find, the site was immaculate at all times, as were the facilities. Lovely adjustable showers, which was very nice as I enjoy a shower that not too hot and was able to achieve this here! The lake was well fished whilst we were here and we saw a whopper caught along with several smaller ones. Staff were amazingly friendly and helpful, the TV point was a bonus as our stratus couldn't get a signal. Lovely sized pitches on hardstanding with grass and the duck pond was a good source of entertainment with the ducks and geese. Not too far from anything, we visited Norwich, Cromer and went on a trip from Moreston Quay to see the seals which was unforgettable. We are keen sea fisherman / woman and caught lots of Mackerel off of the pier in Cromer. All in all a fantastic few days, my only wish is that I could have stayed longer, but I will definitely be back
