Not too impressed with this site. The first pitch we were allocated was far too close to other campers and we had no hook up which we had already paid for. The second pitch was fine although not big enough to park the car at the side. There were quite a few vans on site that are lived in by contract workers.
The toilets and showers are very dated, tiny and not cleaned very well, lots of cobwebbs. The electric did go off 3/4 times during our stay, the main junction caught fire which left us without electricity for most of the day.
The road is a busy road, but traffic noise is not an issue. There are a number of attractions within easy driving distance from the site. Not a site a would return too.

We visited this site with a group of friends, we have been there before and nothing had changed since 2011.
We pitched the tent under the trees in the field where the slide and swings are and had a lovely time. The shower/toilet block is a little dated and the gents was full of spiders webs and needed a really good clean. The ladies was I believe kept cleaner as I saw the owners spending quite some time cleaning in there.
The kids loved the slide and swings but we didn't use the pool as it was too cold.
We used the undercover area for a group BBQ and get together and the fireplace in their is brilliant to keep warm on chilly evenings.
The owners are both friendly and we were given a warm welcome.
We didn't have a EHU but our friends were told not to use electric heaters as it would trip the electric.
The site would be much better if the toilets were modified but I'm sure we will be back next year.

After a spur of the moment decision to take our two children away for the night my wife and I decided on the Bell as it was only 45 minutes down the road. Having read the reviews on here we thought it sounded ideal for a short break.
Upon arrival the reception was closed but moments later the proprietor appeared and said we could camp whether we wanted but told us where the best pitch would be and said he would be around if we needed anything. Very relaxed atmosphere.
After setting up we took the kids to the outdoor swimming pool, which is small but fine for the kids to have a swim around in.
They also enjoyed the slide and swings and had loads of room to run around. The toilet and shower facilities are perfectly fine, as was the washing up area.
There is also a lovely covered area with an open fireplace where you can take your chairs and sit if you want to make a fire.
Only negatives are the pool, play area and toilet facilities are slightly dated but don't let that distract you from what is a lovely, friendly and well cared for site.
Will definitely visit again.

We found this to be a great site. When we arrived the owner said we could pitch where we wanted, and we found all pitches to be of a good size. We chose one in the area with the park, as it meant we could keep an eye on our kids (5 & 6) while they played. The play area was basic but keep them entertained over the weekend.
The toilet and shower block is a little dated but everything worked perfectly fine, and it was nice to have showers that once you turn them on, they stay on rather than the push button types. Plenty of hot water and we never had to wait to use them.
The swimming pool looked great but after the kids jumped in and realised how cold it was, us grown ups decided to stay on dry land. There were others using it though, so it couldn't have been that bad!
The site is only a short drive into Devizes and we had a lovely walk along the canal, where the kids watched the boats go through the locks - they even helped open them a couple of times which made their day.
A perfect site for a relaxing break, would visit again.

Stayed 2 nights, great welcome, very friendly were Leslie and Allan,
very clean toilet blocks and shower rooms, all over clean site, looked at the swimming pool was clean but too cold to take a dip.
When we visit Wiltshire again this site will be the 1st on our list. 10 out of 10 all round.
One point I would like to make please please put a small map on the wall showing the supermarket (Morrisons & Sainsbury's) only 10 mins drive from the site anyway.

A very nice site.
There were 5 of us in 3 small tents. Upon arrival we were told to pitch anywhere. The owners are very relaxed and accommodating. When we stayed the site was pretty much full, but we found there to be plenty of space and no waiting for the facilities. The swimming pool is very nice, slightly cold, but never mind. It is just the right size for a decent few strokes so is perfectly good. We visited Stonehenge and Longleat which are not too far away by car. Devizes is alo very nice and Wiltshire is perfect cycling country.
We had a great stay and would highly recommend this site.

We decided to stay here after reading the positive reviews on here and we weren't disappointed as the site lived up to all expectations and my kids had a great time and I enjoyed the pleasant surroundings.
To sum up I would say the good points are.
Friendly family owned site and fairly priced (3 adults 3 children 2 cars peak time was £55 for 2 nights)
Nice outdoor pool with a paddling pool great for the kids (beware gets deep quickly)
Near to Devizes handy if you need provisions (didn't bother with the nearby garage as it didn't look up to much) also a good base for exploring local landmarks and towns etc which there are a lot.
No bad points for us however.
Kids swings, slide, and climbing frame seen better days but were fine all the same.
If you like modern toilets and shower blocks look elsewhere, these ones are fine but probably rate a 5 out of 10, still our lot had no problem with them.
Road can be a bit noisy as expected, I think there is a field near the back when I return would asked to be placed there if possible, still it wasn't no worse than many other places in that respect and wasn't a problem and didn't interfere with our enjoyment.
Looking forward to our next stay!

We are a family from the Netherlands with 4 children aged 3 to 16 and have a Outwell Georgia L.
Visited this site second year in a row. Wonderful site! Spacious, friendly and very practically situated with lots to visit in the area. We think so highly of this site, we brought friends with us this time. Stayed a fortnight, visited Longleat, Cheddar, Castle Combe racing circuit and so many other things.
The facilities (toilet and shower) are, as mentioned elsewhere, not thoroughly modern, but they're clean, work and do so for free (no charge).
There's a biological store nearby and all other shopping we did at the big stores in Devizes, where we also enjoyed regular pick-nicks on the green.
Will definitely return!

Just got back from a 2-day spur of the moment trip at the Bell, as I needed to get away and the weather forecast was good.
This site is local to me, as I only live 10min drive away, and I pass this campsite every time I go to the cattery and kennel for my pets!
The owners, Lesley and Allan, were very helpful from the moment I rang and enquired whether they had an EHU pitch available for the weekend on Friday morning!
I asked if I needed to be there at a certain time so as to pay them as I had to go home to load up the car etc., and Lesley replied just come whenever it suited me, brilliant I thought!
Got there with my first load of gear just after 17:00h, and the office was closed. So I followed the instruction to pitch up 20ft away from the neighbours and see them in the morning.
Chose my pitch, which turned out to be a lot bigger than I thought.
Lesley and Allan live on site, and popped round to make sure I was ok while I was pitching up.
Very helpful and friendly couple. Allan even took someone to get a gas bottle rather than to risk him getting lost!
The facilities were fine, a bit dated, however, they were kept clean and tidy. Peeps who do not like being watched while going to the loo and showering by spiders could be put off by their presence.
Plenty of hot water throughout the day, so no issues there.
The noise from the A342 could put people off. Although it is supposed to be 50mph, I was certain a lot of cars and (especially) bikes were over the speed limit late at night! I do not usually sleep well on the first night, hence the noise from the road was perhaps perceived to be louder, as I slept like a log the next night!
The pool on site looked tempting, however, it was quite windy, and too many kids for my liking. So I gave it a miss.
The playing facilities for children were definitely outdated. However, youngsters did not appear to be lacking in entertainment, much to the somewhat annoyance of those who wished for some peace and quiet.
However, Allan did his best to keep the noise down and to prevent kids running amok.
Not much mobile broadband coverage to speak of, however, that's not the site's fault, just a comment.
The only niggle I had was the ban on electric fan heaters. The site kept having their EHU tripped by indiscriminate use of fan heaters, so Allan has banned them altogether. He did give me a 50% discount on EHU though so I cannot grumble. In the end, I did not need the heater at night after all.
I discovered some well-maintained tracks / foot paths that go on for miles around the farms nearby, and had a lovely long work with my dog. Just turn left coming out of the campsite, walk past the used car dealership and turn left into the yard of an all terrain vehicle hire place (or something like that), and one should find the start of the path in the right hand corner of the yard.
As mentioned before, Devizes is just up the road, and one can get provisions from a number of supermarkets. It also has a couple of DIY shop, one of which has a bike shop attached to it (Roses). Also check out the Kennet and Avon Canal, especially the Caen Hill Flight, which is a wonder of engineering, and has some nice walks on both banks.
Lastly, be sure to let Allan know in advance if you intend to have visitors around, as there is a charge for visitors, even though he may let them stay for free, e.G. If they are only staying for teas and coffees etc. However, if they use the facilities such as the pool then it is only fair that they have to pay!
All in all, a very nice site that is very handy for me being just up the road, handy for quick short trips if the weather is good, as I can go home to feed the cat!

This was our first time camping and what a good place to start…
The campsite was quite small, but you don’t feel impeded by your neighbours.
The owner is very helpful and polite and really lets you get on with things, but does keep a close eye on things and makes sure that no one is too rowdy after 11pm.
As the site is not that huge means that there is not much of a hike to the toilets / shower units, which are a bit dated but acceptable.
This really is a nice friendly site and I can recommend it.
