Phoned for a last minute pitch - very helpful and got a hook up pitch for a couple of nights.
Great spacious site - informal field to camp in. Showers had plenty of hot water and didn't seem busy.
On top of a rise so has nice views but could be a bit breezy. About 10 mins walk from the Pityme Inn and 15mins walk to wee shops. About 40min walk to Rock beach and the ferry to Padstow.
Also a short (but hilly ) cycle ride to Daymer Bay beach and the coastal path

We have just returned from a fab week of camping at Trewiston Farm.
This site is approximately a mile or 2 from Rock and Polzeath Beach.
The site itself is very peaceful, located higher up overlooking rolling countryside so had a lovely breeze which was welcoming in the very hot weather that we had. There are plenty of showers and toilets which were always very clean and never very busy. Showers were always piping hot. We used the showers in the family block as the ones in the ladies were just a dribble! There is also a dishwashing room with 3 sinks and washing machines and tumble dryers. Again, never had to queue for the sinks and always very clean.
We used this as a base and only went to Rock and Polzeath once as our girls wanted more waves to surf on so ventured further out to Newquay beaches which are approx 35 minute drive away.
There is no shop on site but about half a mile down the road is a Spar, butchers and a bakers. There is also the Pityme Inn at the end of the lane although we never ate there.
Overall, a fantastic, value for money site that we will definitely return to.

We've just returned from a fantastic week at Trewiston, a welcoming site with lovely views over the countryside. Easy access to the well-drained grassy pitches. Plentiful hot water in the showers and a useful laundry.
If like us you enjoy walking it is possible to leave your car behind for the whole of your stay. The Pityme pub is only a 5 minute walk away, with shops such as butcher, baker etc a few minutes further on. Rock is probably only 20 minutes walk from where you can catch the scenic foot-ferry across the estuary to Padstow.
The surfing beach at Polzeath is a delightful 40 minutes' walk across the farm and golf course footpaths. If you are looking for a sheltered sandy beach then Daymer Bay is 20 minutes walk and you can add an extra few minutes on the return journey to visit the tiny church of St Enodoc - John Betjeman's final resting place.
We thoroughly enjoyed the peace and quiet of this site which is in a great position for visiting the whole of North Cornwall. Very friendly owners and it offers everything we need at a much more affordable price. We will definitely be returning!

What a superb site in every respect! In summary: simple, uncomplicated, spacious, delightful and with outstanding views; all within a few minutes of what are, in our opinion, Corwall's best beaches and its most beautiful and evocative stretch of coastline.
The easy coastal walks we did filled most of the week and we're going to have to go back several times just to cover the bits we only had time to dip in to!
To be more specific this was one of the quietest, most friendly sites it has been our pleasure to stay on, and all without the need for the plague of rules, regulations and bureaucracy which seems to afflict some others.
The owners were charming, considerate and helpful but never intrusive, the facilities were immaculately maintained and covered all our needs and, most importantly, bearing in mind the amount of rain that has fallen this summer, the site was almost completely 'mud-free'!
The elevated location obviously helps but we can't help thinking that the owners must have have spent a furtune on drainage?
Other little touches that made our stay so enjoyable include the fact that we were offered a large flat pitch despite the fact that some of the site is gently sloped, fresh water is never far away and the grass was mown to standards that probably wouldn't shame a crown green bowling club!
The showers offered plentiful hot water, the laundy features commercial-standard washers and dryers and everything looked and felt just so well cared for. Oh yes, and the hook-ups behaved impeccable all week - not so much as a blip in the supply.
We didn't get the chance to try any of the local pubs but in such a superb location why should we want to leave the van when with a glass of wine we could just enjoy being at Trewiston?
Without a shadow of a doubt we will be back

Well if only our weather was a patch on this location!
The site it's self is located a mile or so from Rock and the surfing beach at Polzeath, these are therefore easily within walking distance. Other locations in striking distance on foot are Padstow via the foot ferry at Rock and for the fitter and more adventurous port Isaac along the coastal path. (be prepared as the coastal path is very challenging 3 hour + walk one way)
The Main camping field is a gently sloping 4 acre well tended meadow. The pitches will take the largest units and there are unspoilt views over the rolling Cornish countryside. The facilities were always clean and more than adequate given the price. Main grocery shopping can be done at Tesco in wadebridge. There are plenty of stores closely for more perishable goods.
Dogs are allowed on the beaches at Daymer bay and Rock, but weren't allowed on Polzeath when we were staying there.
This is definitely on our list to return to again!

This is a lovely site and well worth a visit. We stayed there for 3 nights this last bank holiday. The site was clean and tidy. Despite some very heavy rain we were not bogged down and it was not muddy - the pitches are very well drained.
The loos and showers are fine, except the ladies only shower was not much more than a dribble - the mixed showers were far better. The rates are very reasonable far more so than if you went into Polzeath (which is only 2 miles away).
Despite being quite high and it was windy, there was no problem. There was loads of space between 'pitches'.
You could eat breakfast cooked by the owners and when we arrived it smelt delicious - we didn't partake of this this time. The electric hook ups were fine with no problems of tripping out and water taps were dotted about frequently. There was no apparent playground and kids played around the site, which didn't cause a problem.
Local amenities were not far away.
I would definitely stay here again and would recommend.

This site is set in beautiful countryside on a working farm. We were concerned about pitching ankle deep in mud following a heavy downpour the day before we arrived and were delighted to find the site dry and well draining. Even though there was further heavy rain during our stay the site did not get properly muddy. The field where we pitched had a gentle slope but not enough to be a problem.
We booked an electric hook up and the site seems well served with these. I gather this is a common problem with hook ups but everyone seemed to have theirs trip out at least once, easily remedied once we'd been shown how.
Though not busy when we arrived the site did get busy over the August Bank Holiday weekend and the on-site facilities never seemed stretched - I never queued to use the toilet, shower or washing up bowls.
The facilities were very clean most of the time - during wet weather and when the surfers returned from the beach they could get slightly muddy/sandy but overall they were very good. There are two toilet/shower blocks and one is 'mixed sex', I preferred the showers in the 'mixed' block and the cubicles are very private so it never felt awkward using this block.
Showers are free but on a timer so you do have to keep hitting the button during showering, this is not a problem and I imagine helps keep costs down. Both blocks are well maintained and fairly new.
I did not use the washing machines or dryers but heard they were good value, particularly the dryers. Camping gas cylinders are available on site though they had run out of my size when I needed another. I was directed to a garage less than a mile away that does gas, so again not a problem.
The farm does bed and breakfast and campers can also book breakfast (this needs to be done the day before). We treated ourselves to a full English 3 times and at £6.50 it was well cooked and good value with proper cafetiere coffee and seemingly unlimited toast.
The site is just 5 minutes walk from the Pityme Inn where the food looked fine but we never got round to sampling it. I think we were usually still full from our farmhouse breakfasts and/or the local fudge! The site is a short drive from Polzeath and Rock for surfing or sailing enthusiasts. A footpath runs through the farm to Polzeath, it takes 20 minutes to walk there. We walked to Polzeath twice and it's great not to have to worry about parking. Wadebridge and Padstow are not far by car either.
I thought the pitch fee was reasonable for the area and unlike some sites we were not charged extra for a 2nd car or for having a large tent. However, the site can charge extra for large tents - see tariff on their website, there were tents much larger my Vango Diablo 600 and they may well have paid more. Space between pitches was enough not to feel crammed in. Another nice thing about the place is the complete absence of signs stating what you're not allowed to do. As far as I could tell there were no 'rules' and no problems either.
That said, there was a fairly noisy gathering going on in an open sided gazebo until late one evening and on another evening a combine harvester working close by til nearly 2 in the morning but overall the site was very peaceful.
I would not hesitate to camp here again, we had a great time.
One final thing.Arachnaphobes beware and keep mosi nets closed at all times. I thought this was quite a 'spidery' site (maybe as we were up against a hedge?). We had to evict plenty from my Land Rover on a daily basis but managed to keep them out of the tent by keeping nets/doors shut.
