Outstanding site. Adults only and on a working farm so lovely walks and so peaceful.
Exceptionally well maintained site. Toilets are immaculate and landscaping is very well maintained. Lovely dog walk on site separated from farm animals.
Very relaxing and about a 1. 5 mile walk into Pickering. Owners are so welcoming and work so hard to maintain the site to a high standard and go above and beyond to make your stay as good as it can be.
Only 10A supply so have to be careful how many high amp devices you use at the same time but that’s a minor issue.

This is a delightful site with great views and large flat fully serviced pitches.
We enjoyed a warm welcome and the site owners made sure everything was exactly right. We even had our own picnic bench.
They have shire horses, sheep and alpacas making a walk round the site really interesting.
We will happily return.

We have just had a lovely 3-night break at Westgate Carr farm, despite the weather some issues that we didn’t let spoil our stay but I will come to them shortly.
The approach road is a bit bumpy but not a problem. It is a single track so adhere to the arrival times.
We had a friendly welcome and was shown our pitch, this was number 8 which was right next to a couple of pitches that was having some work done. The owner explained that they would be done shortly but if we’d prefer we could pitch up on 1 or 2. We picked pitch one.
The pitches are a good size and very level and ours had: mains water, waste drain and electric hook up which is 10amp.
Now for the disappointing bit.
1. We were woken up the next morning to the sound of diggers. We were not too happy but we understand that these things have to be done, it just would have been nice if they could have started a little later.
2. In the T’s and C’s, it clearly states that the toilet block is heated with piped music. There appeared to be no heating on the whole time we were there, the music turned up Saturday morning when the site had filled up considerably but still no heat before we left. One of the reasons we booked at this time of year is because they had heated facilities.
3. Unfortunately, the owners seem to feel the need to put up signs that quite frankly are uncalled for. At the back of each door in the ladies are signs informing you that if the facilities are left in an inappropriate manner they will be locked and you will have to request a key when you need to use them. Remember this is an adult only site, we only tend to use adult only sites but never have I come across anything like this. (I may not have used the exacted words but I definitely have the correct message)
4. The facilities were very clean all the time we were there but the hand dryer in the ladies was very difficult to get on. The owner said to me that it was designed not to come on when you passed it. But it didn’t come on when I put my hands under it. The air from the blower was cold when it came on for about 2 seconds.
5. You are asked to whisper after 9. 00pm – ridiculous!
I clearly got from my personal experience and the signage and T’s and C’s that you are encouraged to use your on-board facilities.
This site has got great reviews but I can only review my personal experience and I have done honestly.

Management response:
1 We were installing pin-kerbs to 3 pitches at the opposite side of the caravan park to this customer (80 metres distant)
The work was spread over 2 days, the first day commencing at 11. 00am and finishing at 4. 00pm whilst the few customers on the park were out for the day. Due to the adverse weather forecast we started work on the second day at 9. 05am precisely & not 8. 00am. The contractors arrived at 8. 45am & we had a cup delaying commencement of work until the various caravan blinds were open confirming they were all up & not in bed, asleep!
We were using a single, whisper quiet, new micro digger that our contractors use on all holiday parks & holiday cottages in the area where discretion & noise abatement is required
Further, we advised the 6 customers on site we would be carrying out outstanding ground works in advance
2 Our T's & C's do indeed state the toilet block is heated with piped music. The facility is relatively new (3 - 4 years old), professionally constructed & is well insulated meeting Building Regulations at the time. The heating is ALWAYS on when required, certainly in low seasons & even in mid-season during cool mornings & evenings.
ALL customers are advised on arrival that due to COVID-19 the windows are left ajar/open (& must be left open) for ventilation to disperse any virus that may be in the air. We also have a mechanical ventilation system in place. Obviously without turning the heating up to silly temperatures the building is naturally cooler by having windows ajar when the external temperature is low or there is a prevailing wind. We make no excuses for being COVID-19 SECURE.
We check the toilets frequently each day & would certainly be aware & take action if they were cold!
3 - Correct. We make no excuses for wanting the facility to be kept & maintained in a clean condition
4 - I personally attended the toilet facility, explaining they are ECO driers & only work when hands are placed accurately under the sensor which I demonstrated
5- Correct. We are a quiet site. The T'&C's are on our website. She sent an enquiry form from our website that asks the customer to read & sign that that they haver read & agree to our terms |

The site is reached down a long bumpy single track road and is easy to find.
It is immaculately kept and clearly undergoing improvements with new hedging between the large pitches.
The toilets were clean and the showers boiling hot. Remember to bring your £1.
There is a lovely walk round the edge of the fields at the side of a stream for the dogs.
Definitely worth a visit if you are looking for peace and quiet.

Just returned from 9 nights at Westgate Carr Farm.
The serviced pitches are a great size with planting in between which makes them feel private, all set around a large grassed area in the middle of the site.
Excellent dog/nature walk. Friendly welcome on arrival with directions to bins/waste disposal/shower block etc.
So peaceful and quiet down a dead end road and adults only site. Toilets and shower kept immaculately clean.
Wish there were more sites like this. Could not fault it and would happily recommend.

We have just spent 6 nights at this beautiful campsite, the campsite is in a relaxing rural location with lovely views of the countryside.
The pitches are spacious and very well maintained, the shower blocks and wash up areas were immaculate.
Lovely dog walking area, also very well maintained and we loved passing by the friendly sheep and alpacas on our daily walks.
We loved our stay and will definitely return.

First visit to this site.
We discovered this site having been unable to find a pitch in Thornton Le Dale.
This site is approached along a single track road without passing places and so the 2 pm arrival time is important. The site is adult only.
Pitches are pre-allocated and we were placed on TP3, an excellent pitch, a good size and complete with picnic bench.
Wide open countryside provides excellent views.
The site is not packed with pitches giving a good open feel that is a credit to the owners.
Facilities were spotlessly clean.
Recycling bins available.
Owners very helpful.
The walk into Pickering seems longer than it actually is, because the approach road is very straight. It is not a busy road.
This has got to be one of the best kept sites that we have been on.

Stayed here for 6 nights. Owners very friendly and facilities very Covid safe. Feels like you’re in the middle of nowhere but only a couple of minutes to Pickering in car.
Great dog walk from site and although the site was full, it was very quiet due to being adult only and the space each unit is given.
Big hard standing pitch with all facilities and picnic table. Our neighbours both sides were lovely giving us lots of tips with us being new to caravanning. Lidl 5 mins away for essentials.
Loads to see and do in this area, walks, coffee shops, pubs, independent shops, steam train and all very dog friendly.
We visited some fantastic villages, York, Goathland, Scarborough and the Bangers and Cash garage (husbands choice). Yorkshire people are so friendly.
We will be back
