Just returned from a weekend camping at Higher Edgarley house - we had a wonderful weekend! Can't get a better location for the tor -what a fantastic view to wake up to and you can see all the way to butleigh in the distance and its a lovely walk down into Glastonbury - so ideally located.
The owners have literally just opened brand new toilet shower and washing up facilities - which are fantastic probably the nicest I've seen on a camp site -warm and plenty hot water soap and loo roll. Also included is a fridge freezer for ice packs and storing stuff which was useful.
Pitches are flat and spacious in pretty surroundings with well kept flowers beds and water tap near by. Site also has a chemical disposal point located near to bin/recycling point.
Dog friendly too with dog bins - our puppy had plenty of room to chase her ball.
Great facilities for a small friendly site, would happily. Return thank you x

Nice site, well laid out and spacious touring pitches. Bonus to have access to a microwave. The toilets are clean but basic, they do have hot water and the washing up area also has hot water.
There is a pavement to walk into Glastonbury and it is near the tor. The site is on a main road so you can hear the traffic, but you are set back and this limits the impact.
Hook up worked fine, I could not locate the wi fi, but I did not ask. I did not meet the site owners but telephone contact worked fine.

I have visited this site several times and whilst there have obviously been a lot of improvements made in the last 12 months, the toilet/shower block still let the site down. These are in an adapted portacabin. The ladies have one shower/toilet combined which is very basic. The water pressure on the shower is weak and if someone is using the gents shower or kitchen (both in the other half of the portacabin) then the shower runs to a trickle and the water to cold. There are an additional two separate loos up a short slope - they look like temporary festival loos but do contain a proper toilet and sink, although nothing to dry your hands on.
That said, the hardstanding pitches are generously sized and there is a bench/table at each one. The grounds are well kept. The site is a mile outside of Glastonbury and literally at the foot of the Tor with stunning views over the surrounding Levels. If the toilet/shower facilities could be improved then I would happily stay for longer periods but I would only consider it as a one night stop over point at present.
Be very wary of walking into Glastonbury along the main road as there is no proper pavement or any lighting at night and the traffic is heavy and has no regard for speed limits.

This is a lovely little site, about 12 pitches all with descent space in between. The owners we friendly and made us feel very welcome, the site was well kept and very tidy, toilets were basic but spotless. There is a washing up area where you can also use a fridge and microwave if needed. The site is set below Glastonbury Tor which is stunning. The only down side is the busy road which runs right outside, but its a small price to pay for such a lovely site.

This was our first trip out in the caravan and we had a super time. The site is beautifully laid out and we had a view of the Tor and the lowlands. It was easy to find and we met the owner on site who gave us a run down of how to get to town by foot if we wished and the tip of taking a torch as there are no street lights by the site.
The site is approximately 5 minutes drive from Glastonbury on the Frome road.
The toilet and shower room were basic but very clean and there is a freezer and microwave if you need. Wifi was available but we didn't use it so I am not sure how good the signal was.
Very pleasant, will return !

Stayed for 3 nights on our way back from Cornwall.
Jim site owner very friendly and site is well planned and laid out with 5 level hardstanding pitches. Plus room for small tents on the grassed area. 2 drinking water taps by pitch 1 & 2 and by pitch 4. Grey and Chemical disposal points near entrance to site. Free WiFi at pitch just ask Jim for passcode, phone him if he is out.
On the negative side: the toilet showers are limited with the gents shared by washing up / kitchen facilities so you may need to squeeze past ladies washing up to get into the toilet. The ladies have a toilet/shower to themselves.
My main gripe is the hedge at the entrance is overgrown so you must take care approaching as the entrance is not clear. Also leaving the site onto a fast road would be improved by the hedge cut back to extend vision. Some signing to the pitches would also help as when you go up the drive there is no sign of camping facilities.

We stayed for three nights over the last weekend of July. A lovely position right at the foot of Glastonbury Tor. Owners very pleasant and caravan/tent area very tidy.
Our only real disappointment was the standard of the toilet/shower room. This consisted of one female room and one unsigned room which we took to be male as it had a non working urinal for most of our stay but was fixed before we left. Unfortunately it could only be used if no one was using the toilet or the shower as they were all together in one lockable room. On the website it does state 'Toilet Block'.
I know this is classed as a c & cc cs site so normally facilities are basic but we probably would not have booked it had we thought the facilities as poor as this for the number of people on site.

We booked to stay at this site as a stopover travelling from Cornwall for 1 night. On arrival the owner told us to pitch up and he would see us later. We never saw him again. We had no explanation of facilities, surrounding area etc.
Found it difficult to locate the drinking tap as it was the other side of another caravan. Could not access the `free` wi-fi as advertised, no-one to ask. We used our own facilities, there seemed to be a ladies wc and shower and another one not labelled. Observed ladies using both, one must be unisex.
The owner is trying to squash too much into a small space, there were tents, vans also on the field which isnt very big. The road was very noisy for most of the time. On the plus side there was a good recycling area, the grass was mowed and plenty of shrubs etc.

We stayed for 13 days so experienced both the positives and negatives of this campsite. It's a well kept site with wonderful views and free WiFi. The owner is very pleasant but didn't meet us when we arrived so we pitched our tent in a corner hoping we were being considerate. He came later and explained about the facilities and said they had a busy few weeks ahead.
The wet and drafty 'toilet block' has the loo and shower in the same 'room' causing problems if you have no other facilities. The ladies toilet blocked after about 3 days and my husband saw his wife to report it. She was very cross and complained that we'd used too much loo paper and said she wasn't going to sort it out. Later that week the door came off the shower cubicle and wasn't mended so my husband repaired it.
The site is next to a very busy and noisy main road and is difficult to locate.
We were asked to move our tent after 6 days because we were spoiling the grass! A Bear Lake 6 is a big tent to move and although we weren't happy they enlisted 7 other campers to help.
In my opinion this is not a site set up for campers but is perfect for motor homes and caravans.

Stayed here with 2 kids (10 and 8) for two nights for the children's festival in Glastonbury which is well worth a visit.
The owners were very friendly, full explanation of facilities and activities on arrival and we were allowed to chose our pitch. The site is at the bottom of Glastonbury Tor and there are a number of footpaths from the campsite up to the Tor.
There are two shower/toilet rooms, both of which provided lovely hot showers, but could have done with being a bit cleaner. Fridge/freezer available and indoor dishwashing facilities (1 sink) and an electric kettle!
The drinking water tap wasn't well signposted and was hanging off the wall. I think that this is the owners first year of opening and there were signs of ongoing maintenance.
This is a great site, but it is located very close to a busy main road and traffic noise started early and went on into the night.
