This was an ideal location for us as we were visiting family in Lexden Colchester. The only drawback is the sound of traffic on the road nearby.
The site is easy to find and the grounds are well kept. The staff are very helpful. The layout of the site is good.
The toilet blocks are neat and clean. Shower is excellent.

Liked:- cleanliness, multiple shower blocks, helpful staff, accessibility to places.
Disliked:- Road noise. The site is only 50yds max from the A12. Busy road 24hrs a day. Even at 2/3am you can be woken by heavy traffic.
All children's play facilities taped off even though you could take your kids to the park up the road. (don't know if that was a camping law)

Lovely site. Pitches are well marked and maintained. On arrival we were shown to our allocated pitch.
The toilet and showers blocks were all open and were spotlessly clean. Lovely hot showers.
The staff were really nice and very helpful.
Only downside to the site is the passing traffic however it would not put me off staying here again.
It's a short drive to the zoo, indoor swimming pool with slides, crazy golf, Colchester castle and town so there's plenty of choice for things to do.

Stayed last week for 2 nights. Super site and wonderful staff. Helped when step jammed.
Bus service conveniently local and very regular.
The staff even organised a rain shower in the hot weather.

Liked the site very much, but the road noise was a bit too much for us. It went on all night and heavy lorries woke us up.
Couldn't fault the site, clean and tidy, staff were friendly and efficient, showers and loos cleaned regularly.
Such a shame about the traffic noise or we would have rated a lot higher.
We didn't find the "country park", but then we were only there for one night.

Absolutely great site. Excellent welcome from the staff on our arrival.
Clean, well cared for, helpful staff. Luckily where we were situated, the shower block was open. Kept really clean.
Only 1 downfall, we had a hard stand but as we had an awning, it was quite stony under the carpet in the awning.
Would have preferred the caravan on hard and awning on grass. Apart from that little problem we will definitely be back.

Arrived to a well organised booking process on friday evening. Showed to our pitch and with useful information.
The place was so clean and bright and the toilets and shower facilities were superb.
The man I believed to be the owner was so friendly and made you feel so welcome and calling out for the ice cream man to visit was a brilliant evening treat. Thankyou

Good site location to visit Colchester but boy is it noisy. The road noise from traffic is really intrusive.
We were allocated a pitch ( no. 9) near the entrance which was not very scenic. Having the word 'country' in the name of the campsite is a bit misleading.
We stayed just as they opened after lockdown and they chose to have only one shower block open which was right at the other end of the site (why not choose the one in the middle?). The shower block is a little dated.
Staff were friendly.

The lady in reception gave us a friendly welcome and a choice of pitches.
Overall the site is very tidy, the grass is cut short to lawn standard with mature trees to give a bit of privacy and countryside camping feel.
EHU was included in the very reasonable price per night, great value.
The showers are spotless with plenty of hot water.
Town is a walkable distance away (about 2 miles).
