Wow, what a great campsite. Situated in an old orchard right next to the River Wye and run by Tony and Sharon who are great hosts.

Turn up, pick a spot and your done. The highlight for me and the kids was that you can have a camp fire, wood supplied if you need it or bring your own.

There is a lovely toilet block which is brand new and very clean. Hot showers are £1 each for 5 minutes.

All in all a great place to stay and I even got a ride in Tony's plane (yes a real plane) which he fly's from his own landing strip!

A must stay if your in the area.

We went for a canoeing weekend, the great site for us,

Basic but clean, must admit not in to the bells and whistles campsite so very good for us.

Lots of upgrades coming for the future, for the canoeing side of the campsite. Including ramps to pull the boats up from the water.

Arrived here by canoe along the River Wye.

There are no obvious signs from the river, just look out for the green Victorian steps leading up!

Beautiful site set in an orchard with a laid back feel. No marked plots or anything, we just pulled our stuff up and set up where we liked. The owners came over later to collect money (£5 per person per night) and ask us if we wanted any firewood (£3 per bag).

There are lots of fire circles on the field so we choose to camp round one of these. Fires are allowed as long as you are sensible and don't start one under a tree!

There were two toilets and one shower, both were basic but clean, and we never had to queue.

Washing up sink outside the toilets was adequate with lots of hot water.

There were quite a few other campers, but due to all the trees you could pick a private spot.

Apparently there is a pub nearby but we didn't try it out.

Would definitely come back!

We come here so often, and have never written a review because its such a special place, we want to keep it all to ourselves!

The orchard is great when its just the 2 of us, the back orchard when there en-mass (up to 70 of us sometimes)

Best bits:

Tony and Sharon.

The fire pits and wood for sale.

Right on the river, so perfect for canoeists and paddling.

20 minute walk to a fantastic pub, Mike at the Yew tree.

Motorbike friendly.

Shower and toilets - not many, but spotlessly clean - and that's what counts.

Cant comment on child friendliness - its very close to the river.

Only 1 point lost, due to the 1 shower - but I know Tony is sorting this out.
