Very pleasant municipal site, handy for the A28 so an ideal stopover sight, which we used outward and return. Mainly touring pitches although there are some statics on site. Two toilet blocks, one of which is newer than the other. All facilities were well maintained and clean. Carrefour Market across the road from the site. Bread can be ordered at reception although there is a boulangerie close by. Popular stop over site. Walked in to the town centre and ate at the Taverne Au Normandy near the Cathedral. Would recommend.
Note, it is easier to approach the site from the south, particularly if towing a caravan, as the gate is quite tight. After coming off the A28 (J17?), drive past Sees to roundabout and turn left back into the town, past the cemetary, site is on the left.

Stayed at this campsite overnight on our way to Loire. What a lovely campsite this is, a choice of pitches all generous sizes and individually bordered by hedges. Two toilet blocks one at front (original one) and a bigger one on opposite corner of site at rear with motorhome clean out point behind. Toilets are adequate and clean with plenty of hot water, wash sinks, private cubicle wash sinks, bigger sinks for washing up and even bigger sinks for washing. Walk down to facility block at front and through a side gate and the first building you come to is a Boulangerie & Patisserie next to that a Bar Restaurant, on other side of road is a smallish Carrefour supermarket. An easy walk into village with an impressive cathedral. We also stayed here on way back. Oh and free wi fi but need to be near reception.

Stayed at this well-kept municipal site on way back to Calais from the Dordogne. Ideal site for a stopover with easy access from A28 and A88 - seemed that several others agreed with us. Toilets and showers basic but clean. Interesting town to walk around with several historic sites including a very impressive cathedral. Ate at Creperie La Rozell - welcoming atmosphere with good value food, particularly the set menu.

We used this site travelling from the tunnel to the South Vendee. We had lined up a set of stopovers and only chose this one as the office stays open until 8pm. It was very relaxed and we were able to choose our own pitch. As commented earlier we used the whole length of our electrics. The site sells cold drinks which was useful after a hot drive (with no air con) and there is the supermarket across the road.
We ate at a back street creperie by the cathedral and had a wonderful meal.
The showers are good and the toilets are clean but very basic.
Would definitely use again

We stayed at this campsite for one night on our way to Calais. It has about 45 – 50 grass pitches of varying sizes delineated by hedges. EHU available – and in June we were only charged 13. 10€. We arrived on spec at about 3pm to find a notice advising reception was shut until 4pm, but to find a pitch and pay later. If only we could have done that – but there was a locked barrier preventing us from entering the campsite so I feel they should remove the notice.
The toilet and shower block looks a little tired but is perfectly adequate (complete with toilet paper) and was clean. The only gripe I have is that there are no mops to clean the showers after use and the shower drainage was partially blocked which allowed the water to build up around your feet. This also meant your neighbour’s water flowed into your cubicle.
There is a Carrefour Market with fuel about 120 metres away and the town of Sées is about a 5 minute walk – the cathedral is worth a look.
We ate at Bar Le Baroque which was on the same side of the road as Carrefour on the way into town. It didn’t look much from the outside and the menu is quite simple, but the food was very good.

We spent a total of four nights here on our way to and from the Dordogne. It was our first experience of a municipal site and we were pleasantly surprised. The pitches are of a reasonable size, with some shade. The site is well maintained, with two sanitary blocks. The only thing I found slightly off-putting was washing up between the unisex toilet cubicles and the men's urinals, however this only applied to one toilet block so I got round it by using the other one! The showers were clean with plenty of warm water. There is a useful Carrefour Market directly across the road, which also sells fuel. Sees is a lovely town and well worth a visit. We would definitely go back if we required a stop-over en route.

We used this site as a stopover on our way further south. Most others (mostly Dutch) on the site that night were doing same.
Nice, if basic, site, well looked after. Good value.
It was Sunday when we were there so food shopping options were rather limited. Luckily the manager serves simple meals in the bar (which is also reception). Plastic cups not glasses. Good value, pleasant, but portions could be bigger.
If you require bread etc from the site in the mornings you need to order the evening before.
Be aware that the lights in the shower cubicles only come on when the door is locked - my kids ruled out a few showers before they realised this.
Using the site certainly beats using budget hotels in the area which is what we have mostly done in past years.
We didn't book, just enquired by email when on the road.
Will be back.

This is a nice little municipal site in a well maintained clean environment in the centre of the town of Sees, south Normandy, just off the A28.
Most pitches are separated by hedges and all are grassed with hook ups facilities. The absence of hard standing enhances the feel of the place and driving onto the site you get a good sense that the people running the site have a pride in its presentation and upkeep. Pitches are mixed sizes including some large plots so all units should be accommodated. There are two fairly modern toilet blocks kept in a decent condition. You need your own loo roll. Theres a small kids play area in the central field with some pitches directly adjacent if that's what you prefer/need. The supermarket across the road is very handy too.
We used this as a stopover as many others did but no reason this couldn't be used for longer stays. I don't know much about whats happening in the area but Id certainly have no hesitation in stopping here again.

To find site:- The best approach to this site is off the Sees bypass from the south at roundabout into Avenue du 8Th Mai 1945. From the north avoid following camping signs or sat nav directions as these will take you partly through the town. Continue towards the town and campsite is on the left just before the Carrefour Market supermarket. If there is no one at Reception you are invited to find a pitch and pay after 4.00pm.
The Clos Normand is a handy Municipal campsite useful for an overnight stop or perhaps a longer stay. It is within easy reach of the A28 autoroute. It has about 50 pitches, all on grass and most delineated by hedges. They vary in size but some are quite large. There is 10 amp electrics available via CEE17 (blue) connections, although long leads might be required on some pitches. On site there are two small toilet blocks which are adequate rather than being luxurious. The toilets don’t have seats and no paper is provided. For children there is a playground area. Reception has limited opening hours but you can pitch and book in/pay later. This site is excellent value, we paid about £10.50 a night during our visit in late August 2010.
The campsite benefits from having a Carrefour Market supermarket virtually across the road. The pleasant town of Sees is a very short walk from the site. The Cathedral celebrates it’s 700th birthday in 2010
