Stayed at this great site 3 times last year with friends and going back next weekend with a larger group and really looking forward to it.
Cant fault the toilet/shower facilities spotless!
The landlord was very friendly and accommodating with children made to feel very welcome and able to use the pool tables!
The peacocks behind the pub were lovely to watch!
Great little playground and the kids liked to sit by the river trying to catch fish etc with nets!
We paid £10 a night, I think its £15 on a bank hol which I think is great value for money!
Would highly recommend this site to anyone!

Lovely site.! the new shower/toilet block is great, extremely clean, and well presented.
My kids enjoyed the play area, and it was close enough to keep an eye on them so they could wander to it on their own.
Cows mooing all day, and there is also horses in the paddock 5 mins away.
I gather that they do tend to have rallies on there a bit, and we fell on a weekend that had one on. So was rather noisy one night ( Saturday ), with people drinking, shouting and falling about all over. We wont let it put us off though as we had a smashing weekend.
The pub is great and I agree with the other review that the jukebox is one of the best I have seen.
They was serving food all weekend, and was serving breakfasts in the morning times.
The boats moored up to the river Derwent makes lovely scenery, and there was also people fishing.
The elsan is a big hole in the ground, which stinks !
All in all though, we will return to this lovely site.
Cheap enough too with £15.00 per night including elec hook up.

The quietest site we have been on,it is next to the River Derwent.Country side all around.
Good shower block that you have to pay for if you want a shower or to use the washing machine, the meter takes 20p's or £1 and a three minute shower costs 40p.
There is a pool table in the bar and children are made to feel welcome. The pub had the best juke box I have seen with every song since the 50s,the only downside was that there was no food available in the bar as is advertised, but Selby and York are only a short drive away.
The site costs only £10 per night which is a real bargain. There is a Spar shop 2 miles up the road. The town of Selby has two super markets next to each other Morrisons and Tesco
You are allowed to take your dogs as long as you clean up after them
We bent a lot of pegs getting our tent in as there are rocks about 5 inches under the ground
All in all we had a great time and hope to return one day

I notice that the reviews for this site are a little old so I am pleased to inform you that the toilet block is now complete and a welcome addition to the facilities. They are very good quality finish and well worth what appears to be a wait. It was our first time here and I'm sure it won't be the last; the campsite had everything needed for a short stay, and at £10 a night it was cheap enough to forgive any short comings.
OK it isn't the best site in the world, the playground was a little tired and the ground was stony 6 inches under the turf (steady hand no bent pegs), but it was flat, well kept, in the country with a river running along side, a pub at one end and peace and quiet at the other, I don't know if I want anything more; as a sea view would be asking too much so far inland.
All in all great value for money and handy for both Selby and York, thumbs up. No shop but Pub grub available, fish n chips in next village, games room with Snooker and pool reasonable value and kids are welcomed.

This is a Great little site, right next to the river, there are boats moored up and it looked like people were fishing also. Tents and caravans welcome, with electric hook up. Very reasonably priced. Excellent new and very clean toilet / shower block just a very short walk from the field - important in a tent in the middle of the night!Pot washing sink too and clothes washing facilities. The Shower takes 20p or £1 for which case you get a nice long hot shower or time to put both kids in ! Good family friendly pub on site for a pint too ;o)they do a sunday lunch but we didn't sample it on this occasion!
Great park for the little ones and plenty of space for ball games. Just need the weather really ! Local village of Bubwith had pub, off- licence and Indian take away. Further afield Howden or Selby have a full range of shops / eateries.

This place is amazing for camping, walking and fishing. When ever we visit its a place you just want to stay. We always stay longer. Good play area for children. Clean toilet rooms. Friendly atmosphere all round. Great cheap fun loving camping definitely a must if you haven^t been. Pets allowed so a bonus if you are a pet lover. No main roads so children are safe at all times.Lovely wild life to sit an watch. Airadrome close by situated outside a small village so its quiet if you are coming to relax.

Although it was bad weather which caused the river to flood, it didn't stop a great weekend.
Dog friendly and children friendly.
Shower and toilet block will be great once built, although by hearsay, it's taking some time to complete.
Would be great if a Chef was on hand as we had to keep visiting the nearest shop for food.
Sadly, we didn't get to hear any entertainment whilst there, but I do believe they do have someone singing there once a month, it's just picking the right week.
Will book again for the summer, but obviously depending on river level, as it can get high and if with kids, can cause you to be rather over cautious.

Stayed here for one night.
Little hard to find. But worth finding though. Pub on site is great and not over priced.
Good play area on site too.
Local Spar(type) Shop in next village about a mile away. Also think takeaway delivers to site.
Facilities were adequate and clean.
Cracking site

Stayed at this site over the Bank Holiday Weekend, lovely flat field and short grass, river running along side with boats moored up. Little playground for the children, and plenty space for playing football, bowls etc. Pub on site, children were allowed in, pool table, singer on on the Saturday night was very good. Would have been fantastic if it had been serving food but unfortunately, no Chef at the moment! Toilet/Shower block was literally a shed with 2 rooms (each containing toilet, sink and shower (I couldnt get it warm even after putting about 60p in the slot) plug sockets - the one in the ladies room was the only one working). Badly needing improvement and after speaking to the owner is on the cards, a new block is due to be built at the end of the year. In the middle of nowhere really, drove to the nearest village for Fish & Chip shop but did walk it on the Sunday about 30mins through fields to the village. Nearest chinese takeaway in Howden. Will probably return once the new toilet/shower facilities have improved and a new chef has been employed would be an added bonus!

Good campsite, amenities, toilet and shower wise are basic but the location makes up for these. Upwards of 40+ boats moored here so always something going on. Entertainment every Saturday night through summer. Pub is excellent doing hand pulled and food. Friendly atmostphere, landlord doesnt say a lot, lives up to his nickname, Rigsby!
