This is a delightful CS site situated about 2 miles from the village of Holme On Spalding Moor where there are a few pubs and also a small but well stocked supermarket. Don't be put off by the entrance into the site which consists of some large sheds where vehicle restoration work and related activities are carried out.
Once passed the sheds the site opens up to a couple of large flat grassy fields divided by a stream. If you prefer to be more secluded the second field is ideal though you have a long walk to the toilet block.
The toilets were basic but clean with 3 ladies, 2 gents plus a disabled user cubicle and a large shower room for which the owner asks you to leave a £1 in the honesty bowl. My only very minor complaint would be that a small table or chair by the wash basins to put your washing gear on would have been appreciated.
On the wall outside the shower cubicle are two drinking water taps and a wash-down only tap is on the wall outside the gents where there is also the CDP. There is a further drinking water tap at the far end of the main field.
The site allow fires in fire pits but they do have some restriction on which part of the field you can use them on so it is best to check with the owner before you pitch as it may affect your choice of location.
Dog owners will like this site as the Howdenshire Rail Trail public footpath runs between the two fields and goes for miles both east and west so it is a great place to exercise the dogs and children well away from the roads.
The owners are very friendly and helpful and at £8 a night, £9 with EHU you'd be pushed to find a more relaxing site and it is one I will definitely be returning to.
About the only negative I can report is that there are no rubbish bins so you have to take your rubbish home with you. Could be a problem if you were staying for more than a weekend but overall this site is a little gem.

First time on a CS, so we were a bit worried about the facilities, but we enjoyed it so much we're already planning to go back.
Basically a large field with no marked pitches. There was EHU available for those pitched near the greenhouses, but we did without.
There were 3 cubicles in the ladies, 2 in the mens, and one huge shower for which the owner asks for a £1 donation. Toilets were a bit dated, but were very clean with plenty of loo roll.
Drinking water available near the toilets and also at the bottom of the field, but no washing up facilities. Also, bear in mind that there is nowhere to put your rubbish, you need to take it away with you, so remember some strong bin bags!
There is another field at the bottom of the site over a brook for those who like it even more remote, but a long way back to the toilets.
A great site to get away from it all, but the bird scarer started at 6:00am, so no chance for a sleep in, although we did just stay in the twilight zone for a while once awake.
If you want to get away from it all for a couple of nights this is a great place, only 45 minutes from home for us, and for £8 per night, can't be beaten.

Visited for one night this year as first time campers. Two tents, 4 adults and 4 kids under 8. We paid £17 all in including 1 ehu. We had plenty of room to pitch tent, owners extremely friendly
and best of all lovely weather.
Never left the site as we had plenty of room to play games and just relax in the sun. Big field nearby to play football and frisby. Quiet and friendly, a perfect first camping experience. Toilet block excellent and clean. Shower (£1) very good and big enough for whole family! No negatives at all.

Handy site for East Yorkshire and easy to find. Friendly and relaxed and good value. All level grass pitches in basically a big field. Hook ups appeared to be limited to the area near the greenhouses. Didn't have my dog with me this time though looked to be pretty good for dogs. Toilet and shower facilities basic but fine. Site was very quiet when I was there, so toilet and shower could get busy if the site had been fuller. Only stopped one night so did not visit immediate area. Not sure how close any shops etc would be. Would definitely revisit.

As 2 adults we had 2 nights on this site on our very first camping trip. It was not too busy and the family running it are very friendly and helpful. They run a tidy site and keep noise down after 10.00 PM. Many of the campers were friendly too.
A great site if you are interested in old vehicles - this seemed to be a common passion of many staying on the site.
The toilet facilities are basic and clean but there is only one shower available.
The Howdenshire Rail Trail passes through the site.It is a flat route and ideal for walking and cycling.
Perhaps a quiet site for children, but plenty of room for kite flying, ball games etc
The Yorkshire Wolds are close by, as are York,Pocklington and Market Weighton (Tesco).
The Hotham Arms in Hotham ( about 12 miles away) is a nice country pub offering nice quality food.
Would we go back?.Definitely

We visited Major Bridge Park for two nights and found it very quiet, peaceful and relaxing. (just what the doctor ordered) The owners were very helpful, when we arrived he told us to find a pitch and he will come and find us later in the weekend for payment (£6 per night for 4 adults 2 cars and a small dog). The site was sheltered and the grass was tidy, the toilet block was clean and tidy and well stocked, the shower and washing up room were all in 1 with a large shower cubical both basic. The area, home upon spalding moor is quiet and has a few pubs and local shops. I would not take children as there is not a lot for them to do.

A recent visit to Major Bridge Park proved most enjoyable. This is a very quite site situated in the Yorkshire countryside and proved to be remarkable value for money. The facilities offered are basic but adequate and are clean and tidy. It would make an excellent rally venue. The owners were certainly very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. This site is a must for classic car enthusiasts as the owners have a selection of classic cars and also offer classic car repairs in there extensive workshops. We will certainly visit again.

August 2004 My partner Clare and I along with our 3 year old little boy visited major bridge for the first time on aug bank holiday weekend. We are first time campers and didnt want to be to far from home so this site was ideal.we had a fantastic long weekend in a great little site which had everything we required including a full toilet and shower block. The countryside around the site is great and the site its self is very quiet with nice walks around it. The river running to the rear of the site was lovely with swans and sheep on regular view. As first time campers under canvas this was perfect and we look forward to going again in 2005. On a final note the site owners where really nice people who tried there best to help in anyway they could.

May 2004 This campsite is very friendly, it can be very quiet but regularly hosts events & meetings at which everyone is made to feel welcome. Very low cost, a get away from it all place, step back in time & slow down to country life. We love it.
