Wow! What a gem of a Caravan Club CL!
'Stumbled' across this CL, which is only a couple of miles from where we live, when we were diverted due to a road closure. Only opened this Easter and therefore not in the Caravan Club book.
Charging £10 per night (inc electric) there is a large field with plenty of electric points. Some pitches may require levelling blocks. Grass was left long in the middle of the field encouraging the local wildlife. Also in the field in pens were chickens (fresh eggs available to buy), ducks and three adorable pigs (made us feel guilty when having our bacon breakfast!).
Chemical waste, fresh water, rubbish and recycling facilities all placed on concrete slab at top of field - very clean and tidy.
The owners were extremely friendly and were telling us of their plans to eventually sell their own home-grown vegetables, fruit and salad to caravanners. They are also in the process of installing a toilet that should be available for campers in a couple of months.
Views from the site are of open fields, and the owners have made a small walk through their fields - ideal for dogs.
There is a garage selling most groceries just half a mile away, with the town of Cheadle just a couple of miles away. Bus stop at the top of the lane. Ideally located for Alton Towers, or just a get-away from it weekend break!
We will be going back again soon!

A little quiet gem of a site only opened Easter 2011 and is a working small holding. The approach is down a very quiet single track lane (apart from tractors we only saw two cars all weekend) and through double metal gates just after the house.
It is a secluded site, very slightly sloping with a distant view of the valley. The site is basic but beautiful with electric hookups and water / chemical waste disposal / bins / recycling provided at the top of the field.
They have piglets, hens and ducks in their own enclosures and sell their own eggs. The owners Garry and Alison are very friendly and helpful and along with frisbee catching Archie the dog and fluffy the cat (who's is anything but-but that's another story!) made our stay a nice relaxing one.
Alison even popped down to deliver a leaflet and to tell us of the severe gale warning they had heard for the following day. They care for the environment and unusually have left the centre of the field uncut and are naturalising wild flowers and this has a relaxing mesmerising affect in the breeze.
The nearest town is Cheadle (about 2.5 miles)with all the usual shops and St Giles Church with a 200ft spire which is well worth a visit. The main attraction for children is Alton Towers only 6 miles away. Kingsley Bird and Falconry centre (ST10 2BX) 1.5 miles away.
Within 2 miles is Froghall wharf boat trips (ST10 2HJ) and Consall Hall Landscape Gardens (ST10 2HJ). Also there is a private fishery about 3 miles away the owners have leaflets - just ask!
Will definitely be returning.
