We stayed at this campsite for 4 nights, £10 a night without hook up. The people were friendly and very helpful. The toilets were clean, The showers were good plenty of hot water, No washing area for to wash pots but I think they are going to have one soon,
Pub just up the road about a mile didn't use it but did here it was good, The field was on a slope but we managed to get a flatish bit,
Good play area for children,
There were three turkeys wandering around, Chickens and a cockerel,
Got told that the cockerel made a noise at stupid o clock but can honestly say I never heard it.
There is a train line but that didn't bother us either. The campsite is very quiet from about 8. 30pm
Close to amble which is a nice place.
We would definitely return if we are up that way again,

Stayed here just one night, not far from where we live but we had just bought a campervan and wanted to try it out! It's a lovely site: not too big and set in the beautiful countryside of Northumberland.
Toilet block was very clean and the camp was quiet at night. There is a great family pub just up the road, and for bird watchers there is Druidge bay.
The owners were friendly and happy to help out: we went out looking for owls and the site owner happened to see us heading out of the camp on foot and picked us up in his vehicle, taking us around likely spots not giving up until we were all rewarded with a great sighting of a barn owl swooping over the fields landing on a fence post right by us!
Would highly recommend

This was our first camping trip with a huge tent and were slightly nervous.
The owners of this site were extremely friendly, helped us pitch and made us feel welcome immediately.
It is quiet and rural but within easy reach of shops, pub, beaches. Amble close by and Druridge Bay.
Kids loved the small play area and I liked the fact the site was safe and secure and you didn't have to worry about where the kids were and if they were running around.
Excellent facilities, electric hook up and clean wash areas.
We loved everything about this site and will definitely be back for another visit.

We spent 5 nights here at the end of july, 2 adults and 2 boys aged 5 and 8yrs. It was very quiet and we had the tent field to ourselves for most of the week! If you are happy with basic facilities then this wee site cant be faulted, especially at £11 per night without hookup!
The owners were both lovely and although were out when we arrived, they'd left a note and came to introduce themselves when they arrived back, they were happy to provide info on the local area and were happy to refreeze our icepacks, they even brought them over to our tent to exchange them!
Tent field is on a slope and we were pitched right at the top which was perfect, it didn't rain much when we were there so not sure about drainage. There is no hook up at the moment on the main field although they do have a couple of pitches out front near the caravans with hook up!
There are no marked out pitches its just a case of pitch up where you like! There was loads of space in middle of field for playing! There are hens and turkeys who ran about which the kids loved and also the cockerel, my boys thought he was funny as they watched him one morning walk from one caravan to the next giving them all a wake up call. We got used to him after a couple of mornings and slept through his noise!
There were 3 shower/toilet rooms in use when we were there, the fourth in the block looked like it wasn, t finished. These were always kept clean, we loved how they were all rooms with shower, toilet and sink, we could all go in together and had plenty space, ideal for family camping! My only grumble would be the lack of a hand dryer or paper towels, we were caught out frequently without our towel when at loo, but this is me being pinickety, it didn't ruin our holiday!
Playpark again is basic with couple slides and couple swings, because the site felt so safe we were quite happy for our kids to go round to the park on their own.
There are no dishwashing facilities, which ment we were boiling kettle to get hot water to wash at our tent, it only really caused a problem when you had a lot and had to change the water. I noticed some people took theirs to the toilets and washed them in the sink there. The toilets were always clean, but I still preferred not to wash my dishes there!
There's a lovely wee pub, as you come out of campsite turn left and its just at the end of that road, couple miles I'd say! It was very busy and we had a half hour wait, but you can book a table which we didn't know till we got there. Food was lovely and well worth the wait!
Very close to amble and ashington which had large shopping centre.
We took a trip to alnwick castle which was about 20 miles away and was great! Even Newcastle is not that far away!
We loved this wee site and will def be back, unfortunately I cant comment on what its like when its busy as like I've mentioned we had it all to ourselves. But def worth a visit if your happy with basic facilities!

I booked at this site on the last minute as I was making a brief visit to the area and this was the closest to where I was going. Even at the end of June there was no problem getting a pitch, and I was told I could arrive any time I wanted. When I got there the very friendly owners, who live in the adjacent bungalow, said I was the only tent camper booked in and I could pitch wherever I wanted.
The site is in a very quiet countryside location but only about a mile from the main road which goes up to the harbour town of Amble and beyond. It's only a small site but is well laid out, and has a small children's play area near the entrance. There's a CDP situated by the hedge and a couple of fresh water taps, one near the CDP and the other outside the toilets. The toilets and showers are basic but very clean, with plenty of loo roll and hand soap provided, though I feel they would benefit from the provision of J-cloths to wipe round the sinks after use.
There are a few hens which roam around during the day and even a mother turkey with her adopted chicks which follow her round. There is also a cockerel which tends to crow at stupid o'clock, but the site owner has said that once anything happens to it she won't be getting another one. Across the fields is a section of the East Coast main rail line so you do hear some train noise occasionally, but they go past in seconds so it's not enough to be disturbing.
A couple of miles up the main road is Druridge Bay country park which leads onto the beach and is great for dog walking, and Amble is about five miles away. Just beyond Amble is Warkworth Castle which is well worth a look round - it costs £3 to park and £4. 95 to get in, but your parking fee is refunded when you buy a ticket for the castle. About five miles south of the site is the town of Ashington, which has an Asda supermarket for any fuel, food and provisions you might need.
All in all this is a lovely quiet little site in a good location, and at only £11. 50 for a tent pitch with ehu it certainly doesn't break the bank. And to wake in the morning to nothing but the sound of birdsong in the trees is absolute bliss. I had originally only booked for one night but I liked it so much I stayed for a second night; this was my first visit to Honeysuckle Cottage but it certainly won't be my last.

We came across this site by chance but were immediately made welcome by the lovely owners. As said in other reviews the site is small but lovely and quiet because of it. There is a little park for the children and my son loved the chickens as well. The toilets were basic but extremely clean, spacious and there was plenty of hot water.
It's close to all the local attractions and the coastline here is beautiful. We tried to eat at the local pub but it was very popular and there was a long wait for a table (book ahead if you want to eat there) so we had fish and chips on the beach from nearby Amble.
We would be more than happy to use this site again. Its very good value for money in a good location.

Lovely little campsite! We visited in Easter weekend in April and had enjoyable stay. Wardens were pleasant and helpful.
This site is very reasonably priced, had good children's play park. Shower and toilet facilities basic but very clean. Our daughters loved the chickens that wonder through the site.
Large Pond next to site can walk round with dog. Great location for exploring Northumberland coast line, we visited duridge bay and alnmouth.
Lovely Chinese takeaway in nearby red row, Will definitely return soon!

Stayed here for 2 nights with my 2 children. Lovely quiet site, but close by to all the local things to do.
Had a small play area and the Kids loved chasing the chickens around. Was plenty of room on the grass for the kids to play football and tennis.
Owners were away but the people looking after the place were very friendly.
Toilets and showers were very clean and always stocked with plenty of loo roll.
Although the weather could have been better an enjoyable 2 days and Very reasonably priced.
