I returned to here after two years to find that the owner has started to developed the site. The barn, that once housed two portaloos, has now been transformed into a shower, toilet and washing up block – a great improvement. All were spotlessly clean.
The field is huge and cut around the outside, with the middle left the fallow and wild flowers – very pretty and it affords everyone some privacy. There are fire pits and wood is available, with Sarah dropping by regularly to check that everyone is comfortable – a nice touch. It is a beautiful farm, in a lovely location – there is a rope swing for children and woods to explore. We also saw deer and an array of wild birds including gold finches and yellow hammers. And you are away from the road so there is no traffic noise.
Dogs are positively encouraged and there is no additional charge. The owner has three, all of whom are very friendly and join her on her rounds!
I would thoroughly recommend this site and will certainly be returning.
One observation, the showers are wonderfully hot and (unlike at many campsites) very spacious, however it would be really helpful if a plastic chair or stool were put in each for your clothes. Nothing fancy would be needed, but it would make things a lot easier!

First stay at Chafford Park, it came highly recommended. Fantastic site, one large field with camping all around it. 'Fire pits' provided, wood can be purchased from Sarah the owner. Dog friendly site. The site is a good distance away from the road so no traffic noise.
A large barn at the top of the field that housed a sink with constant hot water to for washing up, two flush toilets always stocked with toilet rolls and two coin operated showers. Not sure what was in the Gents side sorry. Fab hot showers (just what you need after a long walk or cycle) they cost 20p for two minutes or £1 for 10 mins if you want a really long shower. The owner is a great source of local information.
This is a great site for walkers tackling the Weald Way or other local foot paths. Can't rate the child friendliness as I didn't take children. Facilities could do with more toilets and washing up, I would imagine that they wouldn't be enough if the site was full.

Whilst I appreciate that the location of this site was excellent, I am still wondering what exactly I have paid £10 per person per night for! There is no reception or notice to tell you what to do when you arrive, no mirrors in the bathrooms, no free showers (20p for 2 minutes does not last long especially when the money slot is outside the shower), no drinkable water in the toilets and no hot water to wash up with. The toilet rolls were not replaced and the toilets were not kept very clean (a pair of men's pants were left on the toilet floor for the whole weekend). We are used to rustic camping and look to stay in out of way camp sites with few amenities so am not fussed about the lack of facilities, however for the price paid I would have expected far more. This kind of campsite should be charging a maximum of £5 per person per night and should indicate that you need to pay for showers! Perhaps the owner should let you know this when they come to collect the money and sell bags of logs. Very disappointing overall as I feel conned.

Just returned from a relaxing break at Chafford Park. Just what we were looking for - beautiful surroundings, green in every direction - just perfect!
Lovely owner who was friendly and helpful. She came round daily to see if we wanted to buy logs, (£5 a bag) and we looked forward to our evening campfire.
Felt like 'wild' camping, but with the added luxury of steaming hot showers and flushing loos. No laid out pitches, just pitch where you like - much nicer than being confined to a box!
No pressure to leave on final day which was a nice change from previous sites we've visited.
We visited Royal Tunbridge Wells - 10 mins away in the car. A lovely place, nice shops and eateries, particularly The Cake Shed, on The Pantiles for deli type sandwiches and yummy cakes. Canterbury is an hour away by car.
Will definitely be returning to Chafford Park campsite!

Really loved this campsite, which had the perfect combination, for us, of being a beautiful untouched spot but with a decent toilet and shower block. The campsite is a large field surrounded by trees and other fields, with a couple of barns (one of them containing the shower/WC block). The kids loved the rope swings and being able to explore the wooded areas, and I loved the fact that it was so relaxed with no unnecessary rules and regulations - great to be able to light your own campfire.
When we went we were one of only four tents so there was loads of space. Personally I didn't mind paying 60p for a really good shower: at least there was plenty of hot water which there might not be if the showers were free and people stayed in them for ages.
We had lunch at the Chafford Arms pub which was really good. I was hoping to get fresh eggs at the campsite but apparently needed to have ordered them in advance - will know for next time.
I would give the site 10 out of 10 if they could sweep the grass out of the shower block a bit more regulalrly, put out toilet paper and provide a freezer for cool blocks, but all in all a fabulous site to which we will definitely be returning.

Just came back from a two night stay at Chafford Park Farm campsite with the hubby and our two energetic sons aged 11 and 8.
We were looking for a sort of a 'wild' campsite that had the added bonus of toilets and showers and came across this one on this website.
We arrived to find it was just us and one other tent in a huge field, edged by woods, that after exploring and to the delight of the boys, was found to have rope swings, a small stream and a large canopy attached to some trees.
Checked out the toilets and showers (2 of each for men and women)and washing up area, which were clean although did have a lot of grass on the floor which had been brought it from the field. Cost 20p for showers but to be honest, this lasted no time at all and we each had to use 60p/80p each time. Washing up area had only one sink. The block could have done with another washing up sink and separate sinks in the bathroom areas with mirrors for brushing teeth etc.
Campfires looked like they could be set up anywhere. We had brought our own wood from home but they could be bought for 5. 00 a bag.
The friendly owner Sarah, came to see us on our first night and asked if there was anything she could help with/tell us about, ie pubs, walks etc. We decided to take up the fishing on Sarahs own lake one of the days. Cost of £10 / afternoon. Lake is lovely and is edged by a huge tree house and more rope swings. The boys had a fantastic time, caught about 20 Roach and Carp between them.
All in all, we had a great time, quiet (apart from the planes overhead as on a flight path but this isn't that loud) loads of space to play ball games and lots of star gazing as hardly any light pollution.
Only thing would be that the toilets, showers, washing up areas would be under pressure if this campsite started to get full (although apparently there were only 7 tents the weekend before and that was a busy one!). Cost per night was 10.00/adult and 5.00/child which we thought was a bit steep for a field with a shower and toilet but saying that we would go back again for the experience.
Didn't go out to find any pubs, shops or restaurants but we did go to Hever Castle (25 mins away) and did a bike ride from nearby Tonbridge to Penhurst Place through some great scenery.
Will be returning

We stayed for 3 nights over the Jubilee Weekend. It was excellent, we were met by Barnard who was very friendly and polite. We had not booked the Hog Roast but we were able to pay at the last minute.
The site is as large flattish field that is edged with hedges and trees. We were so surprised and pleased to find that a toilet and shower block had just been finished. We had not expected this so an added bonus. Also a washing up area too.
Sarah the owner and her dogs were regular visitors, checking everyone was ok every morning and afternoon. This could have been due to the thunder, lightening and torrential rain that we had over night. If we needed anything then all we had to do was ask. She was very friendly and nothing was too much trouble, directions, advice and hand cut logs for the fire.
I would recommend this site as there is so much to see and do at a very short drive away. Apart from the wet weather (Great British Summer) we had a fabulous stay at Chafford Park and will be returning.
I had read the other reviews about this campsite and the directions were spot on, follow your sat nav and we never went wrong.

We managed to find a last night of camping available for the 1st October (our Indian summer evening!). The owner was friendly.
When we arrived were surprised to find that we had the whole campsite to ourselves. Just myself and 4 young children made this perfect.
The field was vast and in a very scenic spot. The kids spent hours in the woods collecting firewood and also playing on giant rope swings.
Yes this place isnt at all 'Glam' and very basic but isnt this what camping is all about? We loved the perfect isolation from the civilised and civilisation. A proper camp site in stunning scenery, we couldn't have asked for more!

This is a new campsite with excellent potential. A large field of about 12 or 15 acres which gives plenty of space and choice of pitch.
The ground is superb for camping being well drained and exceptionally comfortable if you chose to sleep on the floor!
The site is in a beautiful location with some nice walks to the River Medway and Groombridge; a less pleasant wak to the nearest pub, the Chafford Arms. Facilities are next to non-existent, consisting of two Portaloos and a tap, but if you want wild camping what more do you need? Take a large pot to keep some hot water going on your open fire (for washing and washing-up) and you will want for nothing.
The big open field and lack of town-glow made for an amazing experience with a black sky full of stars. If you live in a town, you actually forget how awe inspiring that is.

Confounding my friend who said that booking a site in the south east 4 days before a bank holiday for 1 night only would be impossible, this site proved him wrong. OK, it’s only been open for 2 months, has no website or reviews, but has huge potential and we shared the field with about 8 other units. It’s a 2-3 acre open farmers field, surrounded on all sides by trees and hedges, used to be a hop farm then turned over to wheat, so the ground is excellent for tent pegs, looks pretty well drained and is flat despite being on a small gradient. Pitches are unmarked and go anywhere, open fires allowed anywhere – not a good idea IMHO once the site becomes more used – wood is for sale at £5 for a medium sized bag but its cleanly cut and dry. Call the number when you arrive and within 5mins, the young, friendly and helpful Bernard arrives on his bike with a sausage dog trailing behind, takes your money and answers any questions you may have.
Facilities are very basic, just 2 portaloos in a huge shed, but with paper and a small sink+soap – take a torch, maybe even during the day, it’s very dark sitting on the throne! Drinking water tap outside this shed. Showers are planned for next year, possibly plumbed in loos. There are no rubbish facilities so you need to take it home with you. Various footpaths around including a shortish-cut to the nearest pub, about 20mins walk. The Chafford Arms in Fordcombe does some real ales, good food choice (didn’t try) and also offers a take-away service. Nearest shop is about 2 miles away in Langton. Load of places of interest nearby, Penshurst, Hever - see main advert.
Directions: Trust your satnav – remember this site is called Chafford PARK farm – do not be swayed by the yellow Chafford Farm sign on the right hand side (from Fordecomb) – I believe the owners are already suffering from a sense of humour failure with people driving down their lane and doing a 3-pointer in their yard. Continue past about 1/4mile and you’ll see a white sign on the left-hand side with Chafford Park and another name under it.
Cost is £10 per person which is arguably a bit toppy for what you get – i. E. Nearby St Ives farm £8 with showers and a lake – but there are no other charges for awnings/gazebo’s, dogs or even cars, the latest way popular sites like to “enhance their earnings”
The only downside I can think of is the proximity to Gatwick – I sleep pretty well in most conditions but what sounded like a Turpolev doing a low fly past at around 6am Sunday morning meant the Full English was cooked a lot earlier than planned. On the upside, there’s hardly any town glow so a cloudless night will provide you with a myriad of stars to gaze at
In all, this is an excellent back to basics camp site, ideal for the last-minute one-nighter, and we’ll definitely be going back and watching its progress with interest.
