Lovely picturesque rural site on the banks of the river Trieux. Abundant wildlife can be seen on site & nearby along the riverbanks. Owners Johnathan & Margareth were most helpful with local information etc & helped to make our stay even more enjoyable.
We stayed for 10 days & were never short of places to visit, including Paimpol with it`s Marina & tourist Train which travels to Pontrieux.
The 'Cote De Granite Rose' is also worth seeing with boat trips visiting 'Les Sept Isles' from Tregastel. St Brieuc is the largest nearby town with an extensive Saturday market.
All told a memorable stay & we would definitely return.

Having previously used commercial packages for camping abroad, we decided to take a risk this year and do our own booking, using the recommendations on this site. The risk paid off handsomely. We stayed for 11 nights, and could have stayed longer.
The location is stunning - we saw a kingfisher on our first day, and our teenage tribe enjoyed bat-watching and frog chasing.
The customer service from Jon & Margareth (and Jon's parents) was brilliant, and they gave a very warm personal atmosphere to the site.
No, there is no shop, but the nearest patisserie is at the top of the lane, and the supermarket is 5 minutes by car.
The toilet block dates from the time it was a municipal campsite, and there is the odd cobweb which adds to the authenticity (!) but the toilet seats are proper sit-on ones.
There are no organised activities, apart from a Friday evening BBQ followed by a madcap game of volleyball - good for making friends with the many Dutch + French on the site.
We would definitely hope to return in the future, even if just to see if their plans to build a proper slipway into the river, convert the disused mill into a tea-room and renovate the water-wheel, come to fruition.

Well, it is clear that previous reviewers have also fallen in love with this campsite but I still felt the need to leave a quick review of my own as I feel it is important to support the superb efforts of the campsite owners. They really were more like 'hosts' than simply campsite owners as they would constantly go out of their way to make the stay for us and fellow campers as enjoyable as possible.
We are a family with 2 boys aged 4 and 6 and we stayed for a week at Milin Kerhe - our first camping trip in France. We presumed that we would use the campsite as a base and travel around the pink granite coast and elsewhere but with our boys so happy at the campsite we only made one excursion all week as well as two trips for meals out.
We met lots of other very friendly campers during our stay. One couple who were doing a camping tour of Brittany described Milin Kerhe as being like 'a warm bath' compared to all the other campsites they had stayed at. Jonathan and Margareth's relaxed and helpful style together with the wonderful placement on the campsite next to the river meant that everyone there seemed to be having a lovely time: young families like us, families with older children, couples as well as a few individual campers.
Our boys spent most of the time playing in the gorgeous river, either in the kayaks (free to use - lifevests provided) or at the bottom of the weir, or in the play area, the volleyball court or the boule pitch.
We had a super spot with electricity right next to the river which we shared with a family of water voles on the other side. We also spotted kingfishers, coypu and baby ducklings.
The facilities seemed to us to be of a very high standard. We even spent the last night in one of their great tipis so we could leave early the next morning.
We will definitely return to this wonderful small, rural and relaxed campsite. I can't really think how it could be made any better but I know that the owners are always thinking of how they can make the provisions even better for their guests.

This is an absolute GEM of a campsite.
As a young couple, it is often hard to find campsites that aren't taken over by kids clubs and giant playgrounds - Milin Kerhe gets it just right, still child friendly but in no way over the top or in your face.
When we arrived, we were told that we could go and pick our pitch which was lovely as it meant we weren't constricted to a drawn out square, we could go wherever we wanted! It is lovely that there are separate fields to pitch on, we didn't need electricity so went in one of the top fields and only had one other family sharing the entire space!
The facilities are really clean and there is always plenty of hot water, which is perfect!
The location is just stunning and it is really lovely being able to take the kayaks up the river without having to pay for hire! Lovely attitude to fires on site and being able to go and forage your own firewood without feeling like you're stealing!
I literally can't praise this campsite enough - would be lovely if you're a chilled out family, if you're a group of friends, or looking for a chilled out holiday for two.
We had a brilliant time and since coming back I have recommended it to friends and family alike!

We have camped in many places as a family, but after a six-night stay here this summer the whole family (2 adults, 3 kids aged 7, 11 & 13) are agreed that this is our new favourite site, and it seems that other reviewers have had the same experience.
From the moment we drove down the track into the site for the first time, we had the strong sense not only of a beautiful location (green fields next to an old mill in the middle of a forest with a river running by) but also a warm welcome and a wonderful atmosphere of relaxed calm. The generous hospitality of the owners quickly communicates itself to all who stay, making this one of the friendliest sites we've encountered. They work very hard to ensure the facilities are kept to the highest standards, but also make time to be available and helpful: as a result it's the first time we've felt that we've got to know those running a site.
The combination of the peace and beauty of the site and the range of activities immediately available (swimming, canoeing, walking) meant that we split our time between days spent on the site and visits to the beautiful areas of Brittany nearby (we particularly enjoyed the pink granite north coast). The children made friends quickly and were often hard to prise away from the site to make visits.
We had planned a stay of 5 nights, but extended this as far as we could within our itinerary because it was so hard to leave. We want to come back soon and could easily imagine spending a couple of weeks here very happily. The only thing that gives me pause about that is whether we'd have to move the tent part-way to avoid too much damage to the grass: I can't think of another site so well-cared for that this would occur as a question.
We're very grateful for our time here, recommend it unhesitatingly to others, and very much look forward to a return visit, hopefully next year.

I had my first ever camping experience with my partner and two children this June half term. My children aged 12 and 14 are scouts and chose camping for the family holiday I was unsure but a chance to stay in a tipi swung it for me.
Despite the inclemant weather we had a fantastic time. We pratically had the site to ourselves, which was great there were always other visitors but no queueing for a shower or the toilets.
I deliberately chose a small camp because I wanted to have peace and quiet. I also did not want the kids to make friends their own age and disappear for a week. With our usual busy lives I wanted us to have time for each other.
We came back from our holiday so bonded, having had a fantastic family experience. We cooked outside on an open fire every day, took turns
In pairs and competed to make the best meals. Every day we did something different.
We spent time as a family but the kids often wondered off on their own in the woods, perhaps in search of firewood or to the river.
John the owner leant us a couple of bikes as we had only brought two. As a family we went cycling and canoeing, at night we sat around the camp fire, played cards and whittled sticks. My son says John is epic, my daughter says he's a dude.
It was so nice to see children enjoying nature instead of stuck in front of a laptop. By the way we could rarely get a signal on our mobiles - which I think was great! no bbm.
We felt completely at home there. John and Margareth were so friendly. My daughter loved to go and feed the kid goats, chickens and ducks every day.
It is a wonderful, beautiful place and from the plans John has for it- it will only get better.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this fantastic campsite! Surrounded by natural beauty, it's a perfect place to get away from the world for a bit. The river Trieux runs alongside the campsite and is perfect for fishing, canoeing, and swimming if it's warm enough (it wasn't when we were there!).
As other reviews have said, the owners are delightful people and were eager to go out of their way to make sure we enjoyed our holiday. Jon is something of a small encyclopaedia of knowledge about the various trees, plants and animals that inhabit his campsite. They have a done a wonderful job with this place, and they're by no means finished yet!
If you have young children, there is a lovely playground with swings, slides and sand. It was great to be able to let ours loose in there to keep them occupied for a bit! They also have a couple of pigmy goats which were quite the attraction at times.
The toilet block is quite impressive with it's high ceiling, and is well kept. Showers were lovely and hot, which was great as the April mornings were a bit nippy!
Once you leave the campsite, there is still plenty to see and do. We visited some of the beautiful surrounding towns of Guingamp, Pontrieux and Pampol, where there is no shortage of quaint cobbled streets, picturesque buildings and as many boulangeries, patisseries and creperies as you can count! And there are also handy supermarkets and shops very close by.
In short, this campsite is highly recommended! You will not be disappointed with your stay!

I can't praise this campsite enough. To be honest, I was full of trepidation as I can't stand cheek by jowell crowded campsites heaving with people. My wife and I went with our 15 year old son and a friend of his so we had to find a place where 15 year old boys would be entertained and I could observe nature - a tough call! As it turned out there was so much to do for all of us. This is a campsite for those who love nature. The setting is superb: a river runs by the side of the site and it is surrounded by woods. We had our own tent but we also hired a tepee for the lads. They went into the woods and gathered twigs and logs for the evening fire. We all canoed up and down the river and the owners provide the canoes free of charge. The lads fished (and caught some!) and, again, fishing equipment was provided. John (English) and Maggie (French)who own the site could not have been more welcoming and friendly.
The sadness is, apparently, that people use it as a 'one night' place en route to the sea. What a waste! We stayed a week and still had not experienced everything that the local area offers. We took bicycles and explored the beautiful villages around. The pink granite coast is only a 25 minute drive away and the beach there is one of the most beautiful we have ever seen (and we live on the Isle of Wight so we're used to beaches!). There is a forest tree top climbing place about a 20 minute drive away - the lads loved it (far too terrifying for me!).
The local village provides fresh bread for breakfast and a cheap (and delicious) evening meal. The facilities were kept scrupulously clean and had separate areas for hot showers, loos, washing up and clothes washing. It is easily the best campsite I've ever stayed at.

This is a fantastic spot for people who like true peace and quiet and traditional camping. A really relaxing place to share with family or friends, with the option of doing some fishing, kayaking, biking or walking in the surrounding area if you want. Excellent for stargazing. Beautiful setting with an old mill building next to the river which you can swim in if brave enough! The site had just been reopened when I stayed, so the toilet block was newly painted and nice and clean. There's also a good kid's play area if you have young children. The owners were great. Really welcoming and helpful, both speak fluent English as well as French and are very knowledgeable about the area and about events taking place. Real family atmosphere.
I took a trip to the Pink Granite Coast whilst there which I would recommend as a day trip. Really stunning scenery. The local town of Guingamp has a good market on Fridays and various festivals throughout the summer. The local town of Pontrieux (about an hour's cycle ride) is worth a visit too. Lots of little artisan shops and a very good patisserie!

This is a friendly family run campsite in a beautiful setting surrounded by mature woodland and an amazing river that offers excellent fishing and boating opportunities. Facilities include showers and toilets which are simple but comfortable. There's also a kids playground. The owners are super helpful and will go out of their way to help you.
The campsite is based in a small rural village that offers easy access to beautiful countryside and other picturesque villages. Shops and supermarkets are also within 5 mins drive.
We had a lovely stay at this campsite and would thoroughly recommend it!
