This is one of my favourite campsites. It's rural and tucked out of the way on a peaceful hillside with great views over Portchester castle, Portsmouth (and the Spinnaker Tower) and Portsmouth Sound.

We tour in a campervan and therefore need no facilities.

The campsite itself is basic but there are good enough facilities and lots of secure space for kids to run around.

The best thing about it is breakfast on top of Portsdown Hill in the morning. The view from up here on a warm summers day is breathtaking, taking in the entire length of the Isle of Wight and the Solent.

.Don't tell anyone ;)

Good location for visiting Portsmouth and surrounding area. Site nice and quiet other than distant traffic and train noise. Site excellent but only one toilet was working in the gents block and it was empty of paper.

A nice site, well worth a visit but take your own loo paper or live to regret it.

The site is set in a pleasant area, with some very nice views over Portsmouth Harbour. It is sheltered with a ring of trees.Wrens nest in the hedgerows and there is an abundance of rabbits in the surrounding fields.Wildlife abounds.
There is a welcoming reception from the family run site. There is a launderette.
The only down side that was encountered was a lack of regular checks on the toilet/shower block, and on a busy weekend a shortage of paper.I understand that a new block of toilets are under construction which would help with the lack of utilities.
Not far from a Napoleonic Fort,(well worth a visit). Portsmouth is not too far either.
The pitch prices seem to be very reasonable, and I think that it is worth the money.Facilities for children is not catered for, but they tend to make their own amusement anyway.
Worth a try.
