The site is in an ideal location for us as it generally takes less than four hours to drive to the site from the St Malo ferry terminal.
Being retired, we avoid the peak holiday season from mid July to end of August and find the site peaceful during our stays.
The site has clean facilities and we find it very relaxing. There is a play area for children and there is also a heated swimming pool. Fortunately for us, it is a fairly small site and does not have the so called 'attractions' that some large commercial sites offer - (we would avoid such sites. ) The site is in the countryside and, although there is no on site shop, large supermarkets are a few kilometres away.
A number of those using the site store their caravans, and it is not unusual to meet someone who we have met before. However, in our experience, all have been friendly but not intrusive.
Tom and Eleanor own and run the site and we have always found them to be welcoming, friendly and accommodating.
We are very happy with the site as it is and wouldn't want anything changed.

We have kept caravan at this site for 4 years now and I feel that a response is necessary to the previous review. We have been to quite a few sites in France over the years but this is the one that we felt most welcome at from day one. Like many others on this forum we all have our favourite sites which we return to time and again when friendships are made and renewed each year. Naturally people get together for a glass of wine and a yarn but the noise is never excessive or late. Its called being friendly. To us, this is our special wee place in the sun where we spend our summers with old friends and new and we can thoroughly recommend it as a holiday site or a base for touring.

Tom & Eleanor are a lovely friendly couple. We always feel very welcome whenever we stay at their site.
It's a nice flat, well kept field that slopes slightly towards one end. The toilet & shower block are the cleanest in France! and there is a games room with Internet access. A heated pool is available too!
A visit to the Puy Du Fou is a must whilst in the area, the shows are fantastic and the evening cinescenie is amazing! Well worth it!
There are also some lovely villages in the area like Vouvant, and plenty of restaurants dotted around to enjoy.
La baudonniere is definitely the site to stay at whilst you're in the Vendee.

What a find! This is a gem of a place, quiet, clean with extremely welcoming hosts Tom and Eleanor.
We booked our caravan in for storage and planned to tow it further afield however we loved it so much we stayed….
Again and again and again.

I would just like to say that we love visiting this site. We have been coming for 3 years. The first time we visited we decided to keep our caravan here. Every year it is positioned on the field ready for our holiday. Its lovely to arrive each year seeing our friends again and meeting new ones. It makes our holiday. If we have a problem Tom and Eleanor the proprietors can't do enough for us. The toilets are very clean and modern with excellent facilities for disabled. Also the heated swimming pool. We have a dog and there are 2 lakes 5 mins away both accessible for wheelchair users. Very convenient for autoroute access. Pou Du fou and shopping. We will be back next year.

The owner is a really lovely chap, who has been the owner for 11 years.
The site has more pitches than the website would suggest, there were 16 vans on site all of the time we were there and even a school party of French children in tents as well for the for the few days, although I have to say they were extremely well behaved – you didn’t realise they were there.
The site is a field, very well maintained as is the toilet/shower block, there is no lighting however at night until you get to the toilet block. Although the website says you can choose between shaded and sunny pitches, in practice you are told which pitch to occupy, and this is mainly due to the fact that almost all of the vans on site are stored on site with the owners coming four/five times a year for four/five weeks at a time (we were one of two who were not). The owners are all English and all know each other, therefore you do feel a bit of an outsider if you arrived with a van in tow!
There is a pool, price 23 Euros a night - a bit pricey.
Overall though a lovely site, which if you are happy with an all English site, you should try, but book ahead because of all the “residents”.

We stayed on this site in September 2012. Tom Brannigan, the owner, is a delightful character who has worked to make this site a hideaway delight.
The campsite is a small rural site of 12 pitches located on the outskirts of a small village - Monsireigne. It has all modern facilities (shower block and swimming pool new since 2007). The village of Monsireigne has a pharmacy, post office and small shop. The nearest Hypermarket is in the town of Chantonnay - 12kms.
The site is very peaceful and covered caravan storage is possible
