Located in a fantastic area for walking. Hosts were very helpful and accommodating. This is a basic site - no showers or shaver points, one clean WC with hot & cold water.
There are no shops or pubs in the immediate area - though the Bog visitor centre (about 1/2 mile away)serves refreshments in the daytime.
We were rather bothered by flies - but that may have been a widespread problem given the very hot weather.

Stayed here for two nights in July 2013. Our group consisted of 4 adults and 4 young children (Aged 5, 4, 3 and 2).
The campsite is very remote and set in beautiful countryside but was relatively easy to find using the directions given.
Fantastic welcome from the owners who showed us to our pitch and even offered to help us with our equipment.
The camping-field is very large and despite there being another small group of tents it felt like we had the whole campsite to ourselves.
We didn't spend a lot of time visiting the local area as our children loved running around the camping field with footballs or kites or just exploring. This gave the adults lots of time to relax knowing that the children were safe and having fun. However, we did manage a short walk to The Bog Visitor Centre for some ice cream and a delicious slice of homemade orange cake.
It was also fantastic to have an open fire at night. For the small sum of £5 the owners provide a 'fire-pack' of firelighters, kindling and a generous amount of logs(we didn't manage to use all of them despite having a fire for over 3 hours!).
Overall we had a very enjoyable stay; the campsite was beautiful and the owners very helpful. We would definitely consider returning and would highly recommend to others.

We visited this campsite from 27th - 29th July 2012 with some friends, there were 5 adults, one six year old child and a 18 month old toddler.
The campsite is located in a remote location which we really liked, the surrounding countryside was beautiful.
We were allowed to pull up some turf to have a campfire, this was a really nice touch and quite a rare thing nowadays on campsites. The owners even supplied two buckets of dry wood and kindling for £5
They have various animals on site, the kids loved this (we ended up helping heard the sheep into different fields).
There is a small wash room/toilet which was always very clean.
The only thing letting this campsite down was the lack of shower, we went mountain biking on the Saturday and a shower would of made all the difference. Apart from that everything else was 100%

Just returned from 4 days camping and thought I would leave a review. The owners are lovely and can't do enough to help those who need it.
My son and I enjoyed every minute there. The site itself is very big but can only have 10 tents on it, which I think is a good idea. There is a small toilet block with a sink and washing for pots and pans outside, all you need for camping but a shower would be a great addition.
Lots of animals, including 2 lovely horses, 6 pigs, chickens and 2 quite mad but cute fox hounds. All very well kept.
All in all, a super couple with the right combination of everything for the camper.

Just returned after spending the Jubilee weekend at Nipstone. The ground conditions were good considering the weather, facilities were basic (would like a shower)but clean and well maintained.
The camping area was vast and well spaced out. The Cottage and campsite are in a beautiful setting, with plenty of local walks etc (the dog loved it).
Dog friendly pub within about 45 mins to an hours walk, which served good food at an extremely economical price. Good, local Ales served and if your stuck for anything, there is a local shop adjoined to the pub which sells pretty much anything you would need.
The owners of the campsite were extremely friendly and couldn't have done more to improve our stay. We will definitely be returning to try out more of the Shropshire way and it's local walks.

Just back from a one night stay in order to try out our new tent. We chose this site because it is in a beautifully remote part of the Shropshire countryside.
On arrival we were met by the friendly owners who warmly welcomed us to their lovely farm and then showed us to our pitch. The pitch is on a well maintained grass field, surrounded by trees and a picket fence. Whilst we were setting up the gentleman of the property came over to our pitch with two big buckets of firewood and a fire starting kit for our campfire, at a small added cost of £5. 00. It was a real nice touch to be able to sit round a campfire in the dark hours. His only request was that we dug a small patch of turf up to safely house the campfire, then the following day before we left we replaced the turf.
The toilet/shower block was very clean and within a small walking distance from our pitch. We could not of asked for anymore. The farm had a variety of animals such as horses, chickens, dogs and we only just missed out on the pigs. The property next door had well in excess of 30 Lama's and Alpaca's, making this a wonderful place to bring children.
The site has good parking facilities that are within a fenced perimeter. It was not very busy during our stay but this is part of the charm, as it was a nice quiet site in a lovely setting. We also took advantage of the owners offer of half a dozen fresh free range eggs, having just polished them off at home they were definitely worth the £1. 30.
All in all it was a wonderful stay and we would recommend this to anyone looking for a great value for money break.
