We travelled just 20 minutes down the road from home to spend a night here, after finally getting our van back from a long spell being repaired at the garage.
Owners were both really friendly and introduced us to the pigs and dogs. The place is in lovely surroundings, very peaceful and I even heard owls during the night.
At £10 for 2 people, one dog and electrical hook up, this was reasonably priced unlike a lot of the places charging upwards of £30 for the same which I think is frankly ridiculous! However, facilities are very basic - no showers and no running hot water to do the washing up, which we would really have needed if staying longer. There is a single toilet in the barn which is fine for a site this size - it could do with a dust and a lick of paint but was fine.
The dog had fun talking to the pigs and sheep through the fence - it seems there are plenty of good dog walks around but since it was quiet and she was behaving herself we just let her have the run of the field under our supervision. As dog owners themselves the couple that run the place were fine with this, which I must say makes a refreshing change from the usual mentality! We would return here for another single night stay, but unless hot water is put in we wouldn't be able to stay longer - it takes a long time to boil enough kettles to do the dishes!
