Very friendly welcome and assistance.
Some may be put off by the A31 trunk road nearby - but a nice small rural site handy for many tourist destinations with Wimbourne Minster just up the road and Poole with all it's facilities not far. Sandbanks beach was amazing. And a dog friendly area available on soft, white sand with a clear sparkling sea.
The facilities were spotless - anything most would need - electric hook-ups, hot showers, washing room and the usual disposal points. Kids playground, too.
However, if you are seeking an on-site club and all that goes with it - this is not for you!
So we would fully recommend it.

Only stayed the one night so I could attend the weekly Motorbike event at Poole Quay. I found all facilities to be of a high standard and got a good welcome from the owners. The much mentioned noise from the A31 was not a problem. I had a pitch which was nicely secluded by hedges/bushes. Only a five minute walk from a pub.
This site is ideally situated for Poole, and also for my onward journey to Devon.
Would definitely use this site again

This is our second time to Springfield campsite. The campsite is very clean and tidy and so are the showers and toilets. John and Sheila the owners are very friendly And go out their way to help you. The pitches are a good size And lots of trees and greenery around. Good walks with the dogs and a nice pub just down the road. I Recommend to go to the green man In Wimborne for Sunday dinner and Pudding For £5. 50 home-made very nice. Looking Forward to going back.

This is one of our favourite sites, we have been here every year since we discovered it 3 years ago. Its a peaceful haven (we are not bothered by the distant hum of the A31-probably because we live in the hustle and bustle of London), its a secure site where you feel safe and one of the sites where I feel my daughter is totally safe also, it has a play area which is always well kept. It also has a laundry which is very reasonable. The toilet blocks are always clean and well maintained and it has a little shop for the basics, through what we call the secret passageway you can gain access to a roadside restaurant (which also does takeaways) and there's a petrol station (handy for late evening ice cream cravings). Its a 5 minute walk to the nearest pub which also serves food. The location means you have easy access to Poole, Bournemouth, Sandbanks beach, Tower leisure complex etc and not too far from the New Forest either. The pitches on this site are all a great size, I really have no negatives at all and Sheila and John always give you a warm welcome - I would recommend this site to anyone looking for a nice base to explore the area.

Went down to Springfield for one week enjoyed it so much we stayed two weeks, the site is very clean and tidy, toilets, showers and potwash are very clean, there is also a children's play area. Nice area with bus stops only a short walk away to take you into Poole, Wimbourne, and surrounding area, there is also a pub that serves meals at the end of the lane and a chinese takeaway that will deliver to site,
Owners are more than helpful and will go out of their way to make sure you enjoy your stay. We would certainly go back

Excellent facilities, friendly reception, great location (opposite the best pub in Poole-as far as I'm concerned anyway!), very near to the lovely old town of Wimborne. Managed to squeeze us in at the last minute whilst the festival was on. Situated down a beautiful country lane. The only qualm was getting attention in the on-site convenience store but other than that no complaints! Would definitely come and stay again.

We are more mature campers and found the owners very friendly and helpful. The toilet blocks were immaculate and the general upkeep of the site was better than most.
We note comments from other campers about road noise but you will have arrived on this road so it should be no surprise and if you want tranquillity then perhaps you should stay in the New Forest.
We found it very good for cycling and a great centre for touring Dorset, particularly we enjoyed Wimbourne and the Markets.
We would recommend this very friendly and well kept site as an excellent base for touring the area.

We have been to this camp site about three times and find it a good standard always. The site, shop and toilets / showers are always clean. The owners make a point of allocating sufficient space for each tent etc, which they have to do for fire regs of course, but some campsite owners give in to the temptation to squash more paying punters in sometimes. Also, well located close to Poole and many places of interest. Although it is not a huge site, but big enough if you know what I mean, and I would definitely go back there are limitations including a fairly noisy main A road close by and the shower cubicles are quite narrow (but free). But overall a good base for touring the area.

May 2004 Unfortunately our visit to Springfield was very disappointing.
This was largely due to the very close proximity of the site (the sloped area where the tents are) to the A31 road.
If you are going to stay at this campsite, please ask for a pitch away from the road, or you are in for a sleepless holiday.
We had booked to stay for 3 nights, but by 3am on the first night we had abandoned the tent and were sleeping in the car.
We left at dawn and headed home, having lost out on a rare opportunity for a holiday and £40. There was no point us asking to be moved as the site was fully booked.
What amazes me is that the English Tourist Board have given this site 5 stars, despite the fact its so loud!
At the very least, I would advise packing ear plugs, if you want to try and have a relaxing holiday.

June 2003 There are two campsites alongside each other, on the approach, Springfield is the second of the two. The site is very well kept, clean and tidy. Hedges and trees behind you give some sense of privacy and with only about 5 caravans on each side this seems an uncramped space. There is at least the recommended 6 mtrs between vans. On each corner within the site are water and waste water, and electric hook ups are plentiful. Chemical disposal is by the small but well kept shop. there is also a nice (tourist)information cabin.
The site does have quite a slope, but the pleasent and friendly owners have tried to make many of the pitches level. The toilets are modern, spotlessly clean and easily accesible. Free showers.
There is a small but quite nice play area for kids under twelve. Dogs are welcome but must be kept on leads.
From the top of the site by the shop, are some nice views of the surrounding Dorset countryside. The only drawback to this otherwise lovely site is the noise from the adjacent A31 Wimbourne Bypass. It is not terrible, but certainly fairly audible, and if camped at the bottom end you are basically parked alongside the road, although good use of hedging does limit the noise to a reasonable level.
A lovely site we would go back to, but a tad noisey.
