The site is easy to find, (we were coming from Manchester) upon arrival we went into the 'public house' to see where we 'check in' was greeted by a man, who was nice but begrudgingly accepted the 'ukcampsite offer' that they had on. (4nights for the price of 3 £60)
It is a simple site, but within a good distance to attractioins and things. The shower toilets and shower block look very offputting as they are in a barn, howver it is all new inside. So appearences can be deceiving!
Had a lovely time here, the food at the 'public house' was lovely and staff were helpful.
Negatives are that the toilets are not cleaned as frequently as they should?!
Overall I would visit again, it is a good base for exploring.

Just returned from a bank holiday weekend stay at this site.
As with other reviews I agree the layout, pitch size & pitch facilities are very good. The showers were rather dirty and in need of a good clean, but fortunately as our caravan has a shower we did not use them. No toilet paper in any of the toilets either.
The play barn has started to be used as a storeroom for the excess pub furniture so we did not like leaving the kids in there, also the bouncy castle has got a bad air leak so won't stay up very well. There is a nice piece of flat grassed area that could be used for an outside play area for kids. The pub does nice reasonably priced food and the staff are really helpful. I would return in the future when the site as been improved. Overall a nice spot to see North Wales from.

Just returned from Misty Waters, chose the site because we liked the idea of it being newly established so not too busy. The site is laid out perfectly, hardstanding for the van/car, grass for the awning/tent. All completely flat with own water supply and hook up. We were in our camper and my brother and his family were in a tent, we pitched next to each other which is nice as on some sites they have to pitch separately. The owner has put a lot of thought into the layout, there are hedges planted which when grown will form a border for which there looks like a barrier has been fitted.
The toilets are in a large barn a short walk away as is the washing up area. I had a little problem with the showers ( can't fault the water, lovely and hot and free!) and reported it to the Manager who was very friendly and approachable, sorted the problem and invited us to the on site Pub/restaurant for a meal! The meal was spot on and he wouldn't take a penny from us despite our whole party (4 adults 1 toddler 1 dog) dining!
We had a drive to Mold for the Market, then into Prestatyn to see the Childrens Holiday Camp and bring back memories :)
All in all had a lovely weekend and will definitely be going back to this site. Booking was easy, £15 per night per pitch inc hook up regardless of what you were camping in, none of that silly 'how many adults? how many children? how old are the children? pets? awning?' No huge list of rules and restrictions either. Thanks to the Manager and Owner for a lovely weekend.

Visited this site for a wkend with the kids. Good layout, own water supply to each pitch. Owner was friendly. Went for a meal in pub, which was very nice and reasonably priced. The showers were hot, and the kids enjoyed the indoor play facilities. The site is situated in a good place, near to A55, there is a petrol station, shop, subway and McDonalds just a short drive away. Also Dyserth Waterfalls a short drive. Could do with having some outdoor facilities for the kids, eg play area etc, as it is a new site and just getting established I am sure the owner will have the site nicely finished.

Was advised of this recently opened site whilst it was still in the planning stage and have been looking forward to staying there being a regular visitor to the area. A great deal of thought has gone into the layout, each pitch having hardstanding for the van with grass for the awning. Although on a very gently sloping hillside, each individual pitch is level with it's own water supply. Elsan and grey water tip in top corner of the field, bit of a walk if you're at the opposite end, being disabled I tow the wastemaster and toilet cassette behind the car so not a prob.
Pitches are generous in size and even if the site is full, you wouldn't feel crowded. Grass was short and everywhere neat and tidy. Toilet block incorporated into the large barn at the other top corner to the Elsan tip. Little criticism here, no toilet paper in the loo and no signs on the doors ie Ladies/Gents, still not sure if I went in the right one ! Looked as if the cleaner hadn't visited for a day or two but otherwise all was brand new. The rest of the barn is given over to a kiddies undercover play area complete with bouncy castle, pool table, hockey table and seesaw etc. There was even a sofa for the mums to sit whilst watching the little ones.
Upon arrival we were greeted by the proprietor/landlord who told us to pitch anywhere as it was'nt full. I chose a pitch at the lower edge of the field which is along side the A road from Holywell to Dyserth. Did suffer a little from traffic noise which I hadn't anticipated and was surprised at how busy the road was.
Doesn't appear to be any shops nearby, but Holywell is only 4 miles and has everything including a Tesco. In the other direction, Dyserth has plenty to offer including the Dyserth Falls, well worth a visit at 40p per person in the honesty box. Just a little further than Dyserth towards Ruddlan is a retail park with Sainsburys etc. Had Sunday lunch in the pub which was superb and invited friends to dinner on the wednesday evening, which also happened to be my birthday. Had a marvelous evening, even a surprise birthday cake but I'm not letting on how many candles were on it.
Must just comment on the £70 for the week special offer for UKCampsite.co.uk members, brilliant, and the location being only a few minutes from the A55 Expressway made it perfect for us. Thankyou to the owner and his staff, will be back next year

Just come back from a lovely weekend on this site. We had a great time, the children had lots to do as there is a barn with bouncy castles, air hockey, pool table, tv etc just at the top of the field, this is a great idea as it gives us adults a bit of time to chill. Toilets and showers were clean and hot! Good pot washing area. The food in the pub was lovely and very reasonable in price and we even had a game of bingo. The owner was very friendly and so were the staff. Lovely area and lots of things to do close by, we visited dyserth waterfalls which was 6 miles down the road, 40p a person to walk around and its was a brill day out, the kids were wet through and were happy to be on a real adventure. Rhyl town centre is only 20 mins away so there is always something to do. Will defo be returning to this site. :-)

Stayed over during the bank holiday weekend, reasonable charges for pitch, water points and waste water disposal close to the caravan, chem waste a few meters away by the bins but would suggest signs due to this being a new site.
Shower block basic only 2 showers with luke warm water regardless of time, shelf in showers dangerous due to being at the side of you, could do with finishing off and ensuring all fixtures and fittings safe, needs a good mopping with hot water not cold from the tap outside, good area for the kids in the barn can not wait to see this all completed, bar prices very good food wasn't a problem, and the guy running it was very pleasant and helpful.
When this site is fully finished it will be the place to be,
See you soon

Last minute phone call confirmed a last pitch, we set off only to be caught up in the creamfield traffic which made a hour journey into nearly 3hrs but a phone call to misty waters owner confirmed that the pitch was waiting and to take our time better late than never. On arrival went to check in at the on site pub and the owner turned up to show us to our pitch. On the whole a nice site with plenty of things to do for children and adults alike with a friendly and helpful owner

Had a lovely weekend at the opening of this site. All pitches hardstanding & fully serviced, a real bonus no trekking for water etc. Showers & loos immaculate. When the landscaping is fully developed it will be stunning. The owner has worked incredibly hard to make this happen & is cheerful & amenable nothing is too much trouble. Bouncy castle keeps the young ones amused. Pub/restaurant on site had beer garden & is reasonably priced. Before we left we had Sunday lunch which was excellent & only £6 p/p.
