We booked this site simply as a convenient stopover on our journey south. We now wish we had planned a much longer stay.
The site is so appealing and absolutely immaculate.
The pitches are large and have high hedges around each of them which makes them very private.
The site is attached to a really pretty wooded park with a fishing lake and a small museum dedicated to the area's famous lacemaking history.
Campers still have access to the park when the gates are locked at night, which our dog loved. The loo-block is sparkling and its Covid precautions were the best we came across during our whole five weeks in France.
We muddled through check-in with our lousy French, our host's slightly erratic English and our mutual command of sign language.
But I have nothing but praise for the young man on reception - he goes out of his way to make visitors welcome and he also works harder to keep the site clean and tidy than my OCD grandmother! We weren't able to stay long enough to see the town properly but it looked lovely.
Our only reservation was a very tight entrance that is easily missed so take it slowly.
We loved this site and are determined to stay for at least five days next year.

This was the second time we have stayed here, and it was every bit as good as the first time. Last year I was amazed at how well the manager kept the site, it was absolutely immaculate, and although there is a new person running things nothing has changed.
There are 20+ pitches, all of a decent size and all grass - we were on Pitch 4 which was a really good size. The sanitary block is very well kept and the showers are a good size and water pressure is good. It really is one of those sites where you get your awning out, unpack the chairs and table and immediately feel comfortable and at-home.
The grass area in the middle has a BBQ set-up for you to use, and there are herbs growing in tubs. When we were there the apple trees were full of fruit as well.
Right next door is a very pretty municipal park with a lake for fishing, a snack bar, and bandstand (very victorian). The town centre itself is a 5 minute walk away, and 5 minutes on the bike will get you to Lidl, LeClerc, or a large Intermarche.
The price is pretty good too, MH pitch, 2 people, EHU, 12. 50 euros a night!

Possibly the best site we have been on in over 30 years of caravanning and motor homing.
Immaculately clean and extremely friendly and helpful.
Will definitely revisit.

Simply the best kept site in France. We have been to many over the past 20 years.
Serge takes such a pride in his attention to detail yet does it without loads of petty rules.
The site is well situated next to a park with a beautiful lake.
So glad we had a few nights rather than just a stop over.
Unbelievable value as well.

We have stayed here once before and tried to stay on another occasion but t'was full.
It's a pretty little site right next to the chateau and it's lake.
It's kept impeccably well and the staff are friendly and helpful. It has spotless washing facilities,
With laundry room and a large fridge and freezer.
Like many French campsites one can order one's breakfast delivery the night before so there's fresh croissants and pain au chocolat etc awaiting at reception.
Each pitch is demarked by hedging and some have shading trees. Most have picnic tables which proved especially handy for us with only our very small tent. There was a communal games/library/TV room for inclement weather also a covered seating area in a small marquee for similar reasons. They even provided a communal BBQ and a microwave.
Being a municipal site too it was also incredibly cheap! (Just over €9 for our overnight stop!)
The town is beautiful, festooned with flowers and public art installations to great effect.
HOWEVER, even on a Saturday night in mid July and on our last visit in a middle May the town is desolate! 40 out of the town's 43 restaurants were closed some for extended holidays, some terminally. The few bars were hurriedly closing long before the sunset and the last was shutting around us at 20:50hrs. The three disparate bistros that bothered to open were all "fully booked" and very expensive. We were forced to gain sustainence on our last evening in France in a poxy kebab joint before they too closed before 2200!
It's like there's an horrendous curfew before monsters roam!
Other than in the campsite we saw no other UK souls so perhaps this is the issue, its off the tourism map?
The campsite is exceptional tho'

Well, the site was still just as immaculate during the first week of the season and Serge, the site-manager was just as welcoming.
The toilet and shower blocks were well heated, which was much appreciated on frosty mornings, and cleaned 4 times a day.
Still Incredibly good value for 12 euros 30 per night for unit, 2 adults and electricity, including tax.

We spent our first night in France here travelling down to the south in our campervan. Short journey from Caen where we arrived so ideal place to stop.
Spotless small municipal campsite, well-run by a very nice custodian. Individual placements, sheltered with electric hookup. Very nice clean shower block with good facilities for washing dishes, etc.
We'll definitely use this site again. A short walk to the town centre which has a good selection of restaurants.

We are a couple in our 60s with a dog, in a caravan.
We chose this site based on the previous reviews and can fully endorse all the previous comments regarding the pitches, toilet blocks, lawns, plants and flowers and their upkeep - just stunning! As it was August we booked in advance via email for our 4 night stay - all very straightforward. It was excellent value at 12 euros 30 per night for the pitch, 2 adults and a dog, 10 amp electric and tourist tax. On arrival you need to stop at the barrier and book in, which can cause congestion on the road outside at busy times.
The lovely park with the lake and a cafe, with direct access from the site (main gate locked after 9pm but still access on foot from the site) was ideal for a stroll with the dog, and this led to a sort of country park (Parc des Paturages) with various trails, where the dog could run off lead. It was here we saw people catching netfulls of freshwater prawns, which we'd not seen before.
It is an easy walk into the town centre (10 mins or so), with a good selection of shops, cafes etc, either along the road from the site or via the Parc des Paturages, which has entrances from various points in the town. There are also Lidl, Leclerc and Intermarche supermarkets on the outskirts of town.

We visit this site as our last night in France every year. To say it is immaculate is an understatement. Serge catches the falling leaves before they touch the ground.
The facilities are spotless! I have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone. It is very popular so book ahead.

This is an excellent municipal campsite right in the town, just 2mins walk and you're right in the centre. We used this as an overnight stop and it was only 12. 60€ a night.
The facilities are excellent, good showers and even supplied toilet paper. Pitches are grass and level and of a reasonable size. You may need a long lead for EHU. There aren't a lot of pitches and when we were there it was pretty full in April! So, you might be advised to book in advance.
40 odd mile from Ouisterham ferry and so easily reached after the long crossing.
Lovely park next door where you can take your dog for a lovely walk around the lake or just chill. I now regret not staying a little longer to explore the town.
I highly recommend this site where you will find a really helpful and friendly warden.
