I loved this site. I loved the on site ducks and the little stream running through the site. I found it really quaint and pretty. I loved the assortment of restaurants and the shops with local goodies, as well as plenty of surf equipment clothing etc. The beach gets busy but is beautiful. It has a young persons vibe about it. Although I think it is well managed in terms of no rowdy groups spoiling things. As a more muture family man I still loved it. It was great supping a long cocktail overlooking the beach whilst my family happily enjoyed the beach and it's water sports.

Went to Valley Caravan Park for a weekend 7th July 2006 - Beautiful caravan, nice and clean. The site itself was nice, the toilets and shower blocks were nice and clean. The children loved the petting area! and glad we brought bread for the resident ducks, and they weren't that loud, besides its nice to hear and see wildlife so close. Although it was expensive, it is in an ideal location for the beach and shops. The site itself is flat, so would be suitable for disabled people. But the only thing was, is the reception is up a flight of steps. The staff were really friendly, we are going to book again for later in the year :)

We have camped at Valley Park for over 10 years. We've visited at Easter, Whitsun, Summer Hols & Autumn Half Term. The site can get very busy, but they usually manage to fit you in. The facilities are very basic, and could really do with better maintenance, but if you want a place close to one of the best surfing beaches in Cornwall (in my opinion better than Newquay!) you can't go far wrong with this one. As others have said, the rooks & ducks can be loud, but I have stayed on several sites with the same problem. if you want to hide from the sound of wildlife - go for a hotel!

Excellent site for surfing. Basic but okay. Entertainment a bonus if wanted. Just another tiolet/ shower block required but fine only one token needed for a shower. Not too crowded site. Owners always pleased to help and friendly. Will stay again in 2006.

April 2005 We stayed here on our honeymoon this April and we were really disapointed.
We travelled the entire coast of Cornwall and this camp site was the most expensive of all sites and really rubbish. In terms of value for money it was the worst we visited.
The toilets were dirty and full of boxes of junk, including, bizarrely, a box of tea pots and a MOTOR BIKE! The doors did not lock and it was freezing. In the morning the showers did not work and there was no-one around to ask for tokens. Anyway they were filthy so it was a no go.
The rooks were unbelievably loud, which obviously is not the camp site's fault but they do disturb you.
When we visited there were also mechanical diggers working early in the morning.
The location is good and I am sure in the summer it is a better site, and it is really near the beach. But considering the state it was in when we visited they really shouldnt have charged us so much.

August 2004 We have been using this campsite for about 10 years now and, as someone else has said, the facilities are pretty basic, although the second toilet / shower block has made a big difference. Shower tokens were 3 for £1 this year, and 1 token was never enough. There is a free outdoor shower for surfers to use. The best thing about this site is it's closeness to the beach. The (older) children can come and go as they please. The best pitches are all bookable, and this year we left it too late, but there are several non-bookable pitches which we were able to take advantage of. The biggest noise problem is from ducks and rooks.

May 2003 etc We have stayed here a couple of times as this site is superbly situated for the beach and the surfing - just walk off the campsite and you're there! Other good points are that it is surprisingly green when it is so close to the sea and that it was quiet at night when we were there - single sex groups are not allowed. However, neither are dogs, which is a drawback for us. The showers and toilets just about achieve the level of basic. The showers are pay as you go with tokens bought in another room and the paying mechanism itself situated outside the showers, which are used by the general public off the beach as well as the actual campers.
Hmm. Location, location, location!

June 2003 This is a brilliant family campsite. It is a little laid back and fairly basic, the new toilet block has been progressing over the past 3 years and now has some tiles on the wall as well!
It's a fantastic location - easy walking distance to the shops and beach of Polzeath (surfers paradise). Yet the campsite is well secluded. Tends to be a bit noisy at dawn with a chorus of crows that live in the adjacent wood, but otherwise a reasonably quiet and pleasant site.
