Used this site while on cycling tour of Norfolk / Suffolk. Personally this is my ideal kind of site. Not commercial, quiet and not full of caravans and camper vans. It was very quiet during my stay with only 2 other campers on site but I would expect that it will still be pretty much the same with more campers there. As vehicles are not allowed on the campsite I would expect this to be an ideal site for children.
The facilities are very basic with only a composting toilet and a solar shower which is not yet finished. There is also provision of water from taps and sinks around the site. If you want all mod cons then this is not the site for you. If you welcome a more rustic experience then come to this site.
The fees are very reasonable as well. 5. 00 for 1 small tent for the night.

We had a fantastic night at Wardley Hill. It is a lovely place, not far from home so good for a quick weekend getaway.
You turn up, pitch where you like, have a campfire, use the very stylish composting loo and relax. We pitched by a little wooded area with a couple of chairs and a campfire basket already set up.
The weather wasn't great and so there were only another two sets of campers around but the field is huge for the 30 (I think) units that the owner has planned.
There is only one composting loo (well there is a second one but I think that is for the shepherds hut, could be wrong) at present but the owner was planning to install a solar shower this week - I think.
We had a great fire!
Really good value at only £13 a night, no silly extras like hiring a fire basket or buying bags of logs at stupid prices.
We all loved it, love the ethos of the place, simple camping in a well looked after place - great all round.
Hard to rate facilities and child friendliness out of 10 as we all want different things. We don't want facilities and for us the place is fantastic but then our daughter is extremely happy with a field and a bit of a wood!

Lovely, back-to-basics camping.
For us, this is close to the ideal campsite. A nice, big camping field, pitch where you like, campfires allowed and owners with a delightful, relaxed approach.
Whilst basic, the facilities provided are excellent. Detailed, clear instructions are provided on a board in the car parking area, along with mobile contact details for the owners. The two composting loos are very clean and not at all smelly. The camping area itself is a mixture of shortish grass and woodland - you pitch wherever you like. Apparently they're getting showers in later this year although there were no showers when I visited.
The site location is well away from the main roads so there was no discernible traffic noise, but at the same time, the site was very easy to find and is within about half an hour of Norwich. Nearer by, there's the small town of Bungay which has a supermarket and other shops in case you've forgotten anything.
The couple who run the site could not have been more friendly and helpful. Their local knowledge is excellent and nothing was too much trouble. It's a job to meet people who really know how to do hospitality.

We took our bell tent and stove to this lovely site, and they couldn't have been more friendly or welcoming. There are nice clear instructions on a board for when you arrive (which is a bit of a novelty for the more basic campsites) and you can pitch your tent anywhere. Because it was so early in the season we pretty much had the field to ourselves and could really enjoy the very quiet setting surrounded by woods, fields and a small brook - there is no chance of traffic noise here!
Both the composting loos were well appointed, very clean and the provision of decent soft toilet paper was most welcome. The owner had great local knowledge and knew well all the local hostelries and eateries for recommendations. When the winds got up (we were subject to a force 9 gale) they loaned us some extra sturdy posts to keep the tent in place. They'll be getting some showers this summer as well we understand.
About a 20 min drive from Norwich and 30 mins from the coast it was a lovely place to explore the southern part of Norfolk and northern Suffolk. Our puppy on her first camping trip loved it too!
