Another one of our last minute bookings so we were happy to take pot luck and on this occasion it was well repaid.

Upon arrival we were told to wander round and make sure it was what we wanted and which site we wanted. We simply drove on, chose a site, parked, hooked up and all was sorted. We paid after all that and they were so lovely.

The on site cafe seems to do a fair range of 'caff' style food ie eggs and bacon, beef burgers and chips. The store was limited to packet, frozen and tinned goods.

Toilets and showers were in a glorified portable cabin made to look like a real building and therefore somewhat bijoux. Everything was clean and tidy just short on space. Not sure how a Mum would shower with her kids! Lack of hanging space in the shower.

We thought this was a lovely site but the road noise is noticeable at certain times of the day however it did not detract from the overall good experience.

This was our first trip away this year in our touring caravan. We chose Quex as it was only an hour from where we live. We went to book in and was told that as the site was nearly empty, so to set up where we liked,

The lady in reception was very friendly and helpful. We paid £17 a night for an electric hook up. The site is level,

There is a cafe with a small shop on site that sells the basics, I had a cooked breakfast one morning with toast and a drink included that cost £5.49, which I thought was about average, the main meals were around £6 to £8.

There are 3 showers for the men and 4 for the women, as you can adjust the shower they felt like a power shower, they were lovely with plenty of hot water and are free,

The toilet block was always clean, there was also a laundry room and washing up sinks behind the toilet block,

Birchington is a small town that is around 2 miles away, Margate is 3 miles away, has a lovely beach but the town has seen better days,

Ramgate is 9 miles, and Broadstares is 10 miles, the only small problem we found was when turning off the main Margate road in Birchington town, there is a narrow 2 way road, we were unlucky to turn up at the end off a school day so there were lots of parents picking up there children, so there were a lot of parked cars,

When leaving the site we made sure we left before 3pm and that was fine.

Normally you have to vacate the pitch by 12, but as the site was quiet we were told we could leave when we wanted, as it was a nice day we made the most of this and stayed longer but as I said we left before the end off school time.

Overall a good site and would use Quex again

I stayed here for two nights out of season, thanks to them letting me stay. Completely on my own, great, all sorts of wild life here again and nice clean toilets and showers.

The man at the office was very nice and when I told him I was going to walk into the town the next day printed me off a map and brought it to me. Huge help as I had not wanted to use their wi fi that day.

Good train service all along the coast from the town, could have parked there but I really enjoyed the 40 minute walk. Went to Whitstable and walked back to Herne Bay and then train back, what a brilliant walk along the coast.

The site is very convenient for visiting this part of Kent. Cannot comment on the shop as it was not open but I never rely on camp shops, always do a supermarket run on the way.

Comment about supplying a computer, have never been to a site where they have offered this service, but you can connect any of your equipment to the wi-fi for £5 a day, I use a dongle 02 for £2 a day.

The Quex Farm shop I went to by accident on the way, was absolutely fantastic, bought a steak for Saturday night, brilliant and some of their fish cakes, well worth the money. All in all a great time and a definite revisit.

Thanks to Keats Farms for their fitting me in.

Just got back from a lovely week at Quex Park. We were on one of their full service pitches which although it didn't have hard standing, was perfectly adequate for our needs. Being under trees, we caught a fair amount of bird poo, debris and sap from them. As others here have said, the staff were really friendly and welcoming and the site very competently run.

Many sites these days provide a computer at a small charge for guests to keep up with things - for me it's personal banking and email. Quex don't provide this and there is no internet cafe in the vicinity. McDonalds in Margate and a Wetherspoons pub in Cliftonville are the nearest. This was a bit of a problem for me.

Another problem for me was that there are no disabled toilet or shower facilities at Quex.

The surrounding area is a bit like stepping back into the 1950's especially Westgate-on-Sea. No real quality supermarket. Birchington has two Co-Op stores almost next door to each other but for Tesco, Sainsbury and the like, you have to go to the massive retail park at the back of Margate/Broadstairs - I think it's called Westwood Retail Park.

Several things impressed about the area. Firstly little or no car parking charges, and where there were charges they were quite reasonable. Refreshments, tea, coffee and soft drinks -rarely did we feel ripped off and eating out didn't cost a fortune, certainly less than where we live.

All in all a smashing week - loads to see and do in the area. We'll be going back.

We hadn't been over this part of the country before and wanted to check it out, but looking around most of the campsites are 'Holiday Parks' which is not really our thing we like a quieter life so opted for Quex and we were not disappointed.

We could choose our pitch and were told not to worry about what time we left on the last day (it was quiet but still its nice to find a site who are not completely stuck on the rules!).

A good on-site shop which got in our papers each day and a nice (if a bit old) playground with a huge field (my 5 year old loved it but not so good for my 2 year old but with so much space to run around not a problem!).

This site is mostly statics and the people are all lovely. The site is a 5-10 min drive from Minnis Bay which is fabulous for children as very shallow and calm waters with a nice clean sandy beach and. Free parking!

The only downside - next to a main road but not too busy so was ok, showers were amazingly clean but tiny! In fact I burnt my fingers (!) on the spotlight in the shower the ceiling was so low and forget getting dried and dressed in the cubicle, in the end I gave up and walked back in my towel (its not like I am going to see the other campers any time soon!) But in the showers defence the radio station in the background was a nice touch!

Also in the shower you have to keep on pressing the button every 15 secs as the water stops otherwise, not a huge problem but a little palaver when you have soap in your eyes and can't find the button!

All in all a nice site, great for families but also for those who like the quiet life.

Clean and tidy site, friendly lady on reception. Shower block clean. Site fairly level but there are lots of trees.

Good children's play area. Adjacent to a country road that is used as a short cut therefore traffic was fairly constant.

We have only just brought a caravan and we wanted to try it out before we went to far away, and this site is near to where we live. Well since then we have been back twice its a really nice site staff are really friendly and very helpful, site is well kept and even have recycle bins.

We are now venturing further afield! Would recommend this site to people.

Just come back from a snowy Easter bank holiday on this site, and would certainly recommend it. Staff were friendly and helpful, toilets and showers were spotless and warm, just a little on the small side. Some pitches close to country lane but the noise was minimal and never bothered us. Site is well located for Minnis bay, with surrounding towns like Margate, Canturbury and Broadstairs a 20-30 min drive.

We will be visiting again.

A good, basic site. We went on a half-term weekend and it wasn't overly busy. The children enjoyed the playground area, which was visible from our pitch, but a little too near the site exit for my liking. The toilets and showers were clean and regularly serviced and there was plenty of hot water. The village is lovely; having a small shop and two good pubs with play areas for the children. Minnis Bay is a short drive (or walk) away, with a sandy beach and good amenities.

We just stayed 3 nights at this site nice site very clean and tidy had our own electric and water pipe which was handy the pitch was a good size.the toilets were spotless but the showers was very small couldnt swing a cat so to speak. They say dogs were welcome but you had to exercise off the site near a main busy road which wasnt nice.
