Spent the August bank at this site.
We were in a party of 3 and when the first unit arrived they was a little concerned that the pitches we were given were to close together for us all to fit. When this was report to the reception they said just move the pitch numbers do that you have enough space.
The pitches are down the hedge row that runs down the side of a main road which had cars going passed nearly all night. Which could be a problem if you are a light sleeper. The site looks like a add on to a golf course which also offers foot golf which the kids thought was great.
There is a basic play park with goals. The weather on the Saturday was not the best it rain all afternoon and some of the night. I thought it would be very muddy when we got up the next day but the ground had drain and was just a little soft under foot.
Toilet block was clean with nice hot showers.
We had taken bike with us and it only took about 10mins to get into Melton Mowbray. We found a country park which was great for the kids as there was plant of open space and 3 different play parks.

Have passed this site many times en route to Melton Mowbray and always wandered what it might be like to stay there. Know Melton very well especially on Tuesday when it's farmers market day.
This site is about 15 minutes walk into town along a busy main road. The site itself is a little strange. It's on the site of the par 3 golf course where the grass pitches run along the side of the hedgerow bordering the site and running parallel with the busy road (de restricted road speed limit 60mph. ) So yes can be a little noises at times.
The first 25 pitches have electric hook up but there is plenty of room for wild campers. The facilities you actually share with those using the golf course which includes toilets and showers.
I didn't shower but felt the toilet area needed a damn good clean. I did bring this to the attention of the man in the office. There aren't any special facilities for grey water or thetford users.
There are however taps near pitches to draw water from. Yes it is basic, no it's not 5 star but it's in a great location and the tariff is very reasonably priced. We paid £14 per night which included electricity.
Also on the site is a child's nursery, so there is a little noise at times. The golfing reception area ( I don't think you could say clubhouse) sells a few essentials at reasonable prices and you can even get a book to read. Outside golfing hours the facilities are still accessible.
Overall we enjoyed our stay and will no doubt be returning soon.

We visited the site in our folding camper over the Bank Holiday weekend despite the good weather it was not very busy. Agree with previous comments about it being a strange addition to a golf course and the noise level from the main road.
The toilet block is adequate with 3 toilets /showers/ hand basins in the ladies, the showers are of a good size with hooks and bench to keep clothes off the floor, the water was hot although the water pressure left a lot to be desired.
Over the weekend the ladies toilets twice ran out of paper which was soon rectified when reported to reception. There wasn’t much evidence of a cleaning regime with the same litter etc left on the floor for several days.
Having said all that, the site is in a lovely location only a short walk to Melton Mowbray with its Tuesday and Saturday market.
Melton Country Park and Belvoir Castle are only a short drive away.

A fairly new site for camping as far as I know. On the edge of a Golf Course which means you can have a 9 holes for nowt' Seems to be an old municipal course but still ok. A little tight on room but a lovely view over the golf course.
Small amount of traffic noise at day but not at night. Good showers and toilet facility and as a rally we had free use of the hall on site.
About a mile walk from Melton Mowbray. The dog loved it and so did we. For £16 per night it was excellent. Friendly staff.
Rutland water and NT places not too far and two markets in Melton Mowbray Saturday and Tuesday. Oh and a small play area too!

Do not believe everything you read on the campsite website!
This has to be the worst designed site I have ever been to.
On arrival after reception had closed there was no signage helping me locate where anything was. After a little explore we established that the facilities - toilet block / waste disposal / water tap / rubbish bins are a long walk from the actual camping area.
The toilet / shower block was clean but the showers were cold.
I never found the washing up and veg preparation areas - though I assume they are in the same area as everything else.
All the electric hook-up pitches back on to the A road - not making for a peaceful night.
On the plus side it is an ideal location for visiting Melton Mowbray.
I can safely say I will never be returning here!
