Had a good stay, The grass electric pitches were very boggy even though drainage was installed.
They are going to change them all to hard standing in the future.
Good coast for dog walking.
Good food at local bistro.
Had a good time on the aqua run at the marina.

The Site had electric hook ups and tents caravans etc were well spaced. The toilets showers facilities were very good-even had a vase of flowers in there. Next door attached was a little room were you had use of Microwave. The staff were very pleasant helpful and informative. The
Sandy Beach was located literally 2 minutes walk away. Nearby friendly bar that served food, there was a restaurant, and nature reserve. I think it cost approx £50 for two VW campervans awning 4 adults 2 children & 1 dog. In the evening staff brought round little fire pits, I think you might have to pre book them.
It is a little gem of a campsite, within walking distance of town. They were updating the Shower & Toilet blocks making them bigger so probably upgraded by now. We will return.

Great site, fantastic location on the beach and next to a lagoon with waters ports. Had an electric pitch which was allocated otherwise you camp wherever.
Icecream parlour on site. Toilets were so clean despite weather and how many people were there they were never dirty or too busy.
Shame we had stormy weather but great site.

Like everything about the site and location,
The ice cream parlour is just what you need on a red hot day can not fault anything about the site.
Great stay will be back next year without a doubt !

Unfortunately, I couldn't comment on the owners of the site as when we arrived at 1:30 PM on the Sunday the reception was locked with just a piece of paper on the door with our name on it and which pitch was ours.
By the end of the week the reception hadn't opened once and we had a brief visit from the site owner to help us with a spanner and that was all.
The site itself is well laid out and is currently being doubled in size. The toilet blocks are very cold and very basic I would hope that when the camp expands there will be new toilet blocks and this will be much better.
The local village of haverigg is quite nice but as the campsite is dog friendly and says the village has dog friendly pubs, the harbour hotel threw us out immediately when they saw the dog.
The chip shop in the village is very good but closes early, be warned. The chip shop at Millom was awful.
Overall a good site but a bit too far away from the Lake District attractions meaning a half-hour drive every day to get to where all the good stuff is

Basic but rapidly improving large site. Very helpful staff who welcomed me in even though I hadn't prebooked. Shower block small but adequate. Even had a microwave in the small campers kitchen.
Beach nearby although the tide could be miles out depending on the time. Haverigg village has two pubs, a chippy and a small mini-mart.
Only suggestion is to provide a few bench/tables to assist those who aren't in motorhomes/caravans to do their food preparation at a reasonable height. Cooking at ground level can be awkward. Recommended site!

The location of the site is fantastic. 100 meters to a sandy beach and a short walk to a couple of pubs, chippy, convenience store and cash machine.
A great walk, immediately from the site, which takes you to a nature reserve and 3 lighthouses. Spectacular views. Good size pitches. The shower blocks are adequate.

Booked in for a couple of nights only to find a motorcycle rally was about to happen. Noisy partying till midnight, no one on site to deal with it. If you like noisy sites, water sports etc than this is okay but too noisy for us.
That said site is set by a lovely beach and there are nice walks around. Village leaves a lot to be desired but Herdwicks the opposite way offers good food and service.
Wouldn't come back as much better places to stay for the price

On arrival, right next to the entrance there is a cluster of about eight industrial sized roll top bins that were all over full, and some people were already just dumping rubbish at the base. Being next to the sea, you can imagine that seagulls were already spreading the rubbish about.
NOT A GOOD START!
They did compress the rubbish in using the bucket of a small digger the next day, which was just as well as I was about to ask for a refund for the next night due to the fact that this was looking like an environmental hazard.
They also have a large industrial sized diesel generator that constantly drones away from 7 in the morning until 12 at night.
Hardly a peaceful get away from it all situation is it!
As everyone is awoken by the generator at the same time, you can imagine the mass exodus to the small inadequate toilets for the amount of people on site. So we used the facilities in our motorhome.
That said, the toilets were cleaned regularly, and they did sort the rubbish bin problem. But the genny. Arghh!

The info on this site is mistaken it DOES take touring caravans. It is basically a field with a toilet/shower block and dishwashing room. These are lovely with fresh flowers hand cream etc in them.
The site is off grid and solar panels or generator power the electric and hot water. We went in our campervan so used our own solar panel but it was a bit unfortunate that the generator wasn't working when I wanted a shower so no hot water.
We have been informed recently that these have been upgraded so much more efficient now. The owners are lovely and friendly and are slowly making the site better having improved drainage and plans for a pizza restaurant on property nearby.
They have big plans and there is a handcrafted Camping pod available to hire which we looked at and was really lovely too.
Haverigg itself has a couple of other caravan sites ( The Marina has a large bar that you can watch water sports at as well as have a drink and food and often has entertainment)there are a couple of shops, a cricket club and Rugby club and 2 other pubs, playpark lovely beach a rspb nature reserve and a short walk from the site to all of these There are more shops garages eateries etc and a Tescos at Millom 1mile away.
All in all an up and coming site with lots to do. Handy for the south lakes and only 40 mins from me which is why I'm planning on siting my caravan there permanently but can still tour in my campervan.
