A very good site for visiting Edinburgh by bus - as long as you do not want to return after 7.00 when the last bus runs. The site was quiet in September, but well maintained and the toilets were exceptionally clean.
This is the only site I have been to where I have had to comment that the showers were too hot! Apparently they go back to average temperature at popular times.
Proximity to main road did not worry us too much - we have been on much noisier sites. Our main memory is the excellent pub / restaurant across the road - not cheap but fantastic cooking.
Certainly a site to consider if you are visiting Edinburgh, and deserves to have more custom.

What a gem of a site - heartily recommended. Booking was easy, the welcome was warm. A lovely flat pitch with toilet block, water & wash-up facilities close by.
The loos / showers must be the best presented of any campsite I've ever used. Clean & well supplied. The bus to Edinburgh is close & very good value (£3.00 all day rover), but finding a driver who knows which bus will get you back to the campsite is a challenge! 24hr supermarket (with petrol)within 1/2 mile.
Takeaways in the village & a couple of pubs serving good food nearby. The noise from the road may be an issue for some, and if you want the feeling of being back to nature, roughing it in the back of beyond, this probably isn't the place for you. But the traffic was less intrusive than many church bells, cockerels & donkeys I've been subjected to in more remote locations.

Stopped over here for 2 nights. Pleasant and helpful owner. Site lovely and clean, loos showers etc very good. It's close to the road but no noise and well shielded.
As already mentioned bus stop five minute walk away will take you straight into the city, but remember that you have to get the last bus back at 7.30pm otherwise you have a much longer round trip back and a long walk at the end of it (been there, done that!)

We spent five nights and found the site to be clean and quite pleasant but with only a very basic park there was nothing else for the kids to do. Facilities ie loos and laundry were great (dryer actually dries a full load). There is some traffic noise but to be honest it didn't really bother us as it goes quiet at night. A good base site. The bus stop is just up the road and it was brilliant for visiting Edinburgh-we took the owners advice and did not drive in as parking is very expensive in Edinburgh itself and its is only £2.50 for an adult day pass on the bus - make sure you have correct change though. Huge 24 hour tesco five minutes drive down the road as is Melville Inn which is really great for a quiet drink or a good meal. We also took a drive up the A1 to Dunbar where there was a brilliant swimming pool with a large slide an a wave machine. Zoo was good and Edinburgh castle was brilliant. We went during the Edinburgh festival and there were loads of street acts and tons of things to keep everyone interested.
All in all a good holiday but would prob not visit this site again with the kids but would recommend for couples or families with older children.

We have stayed at Lothian Bridge Caravan Park on quite a few occasions over the last five years. Either for a stopover on the journey further north into Scotland, or for a few days in the Edinburgh area, and regularly for the Russell Cooper bluegrass music weekends that occur in the Sun Inn across the road, which incidentally serve up very good food, and a good pint. The site facilities are first class with superbly clean toilets and showers, with fresh flowers, even in the gents, and a well laid out site for access with lots of hard standings. Nothing was too much trouble for the boss man Peter and his good wife, both very friendly personalities. We came across the site whilst travelling along the A720 ring road around Edinburgh and we had a brake failure. We crawled onto the site worrying where we could get the car fixed at such short notice. Having booked in and pitched on site, I asked Peter where the nearest garage was so we could get the car fixed and continue our journey. Low and behold, within ten minutes the car was collected at the pitch, taken to a garage next to the site and returned a couple of hours later to our pitch, with the brakes fixed, and for a very reasonable cost.

The situation of this site right next to the A7 makes it ideal for visiting Edinburgh and the surrounding area, but unfortunately this also means it is very noisy right through the night. We stayed mid week, struggled to get to sleep due to traffic noise and were then woken several times by motor bikes racing up and down. I hate to think what it would be like on a weekend. The site itself, while the most expensive of the sites we stayed at on a two week tour of Scotland, it was the cheapest we could find near Edinburgh. It is well laid out and the facilities are very clean, modern and perfectly adequate in number for the size of the site. The provision of a baby changing station, complete with bath and a microwave in the laundry room would be most useful for a family with even a young baby. All in all a fair site.

Our weekend stay at this site was a last minute decision to get away and with limited availability due to the bank holiday we arrived at this site unsure what to expect. We were, however, pleasantly surprised; the staff were friendly and the site, although small, was nicely laid out offering both grass and hard standing pitches. The toilet / shower facilities were nice and clean. It is an ideal base for visiting Edinburgh and surrounding area. Only drawback maybe it's location just off the busy A7 but that in itself would not prevent us from returning.

If anybody is visiting Edinburgh they may be interested in a new touring site which I have been closely involved with over the last three years. Twenty-plus years of motorcaravanning helped in deciding the layout and installation of the facilities in the Caravan Park at Newtongrange, seven miles south of Edinburgh on the A7.
Forty-six individually marked pitches all with electric hook-up, some hard standing, all are good sized and pretty level with easy access. Newly built heated toilet block has a laundry room and baby changing room/disabled toilet. There is also a Motorhome emptying point and a dog exercise area.
The site is on a bus route and close to many local places of interest including the Scottish Mining Museum and the Butterfly Farm. Fishing, golf and cycle tracks are all closeby.
Local amenities including shops and swimming pool are just a ten-minute walk away. Good hotel with bar/restaurant opposite. Give it a try. You're sure of a warm welcome.
