An excellent little site! Only stayed the one night as we wanted somewhere relatively close to home to test out our equipment after a long break.
Friendly and welcoming staff and a lovely open field with a choice of pitches - worth paying a little extra for a firepit pitch. Facilities are simple but spotlessly clean and well maintained.
There are toilets, sinks and showers next door to a washing up area plus communal fridge/freezer and ice machine. Power points are available for charging your mobile.
The shop in the office is very limited so do try to bring everything you need, although you can pick up firewood and marshmallows for the all important campfire.
Definitely worth a return visit - we'll be back next year!

What an amazing find, we spent a lovely 4 nights here.
This lovely campsite is a large field on the gentle rolling South Downs, having said that there is plenty of flat ground to camp on.
We were free to choose to pitch where we wanted, fire pits dug into the ground ready for use and regularly cleaned out. Although we don't have young children there was plenty of space for them to enjoy themselves.
The facilities were clean, and hot water readily available everywhere.
We will definitely be back, for a little longer next time!

I arranged a weekend of camping here with a group of friends based on the recommendation of some of the group who had visited before; my positive experience started when I called the campsite with a query about booking for a group and was met with a friendly and helpful response.
I really appreciated their flexibility when I didn't know how exactly how many people would be in my party at the time of booking, this was much appreciated.
I found the camping field to be spacious; we were arranged around the outside of the field with the centre left empty. Even though the site was apparently fully booked, there was plenty of space and good separation from the other pitches. The firepit and short cut grass around it is a good design.
The facilities were simple and well designed. Toilets and showers were always clean and there was never a queue for either. The showers were of a simple design but had lots of hooks and plentiful warm water.
The communal fridge and freezer were a boon considering that we visitied in a heatwave. The small ice maker was also very welcome but probably best to bring ice bags if visiting during hot weather. Dish washing was undercover, clean and with a good supply of hot water. On-site staff were helpful and friendly.
Thanks for helping us to have a great camping trip!

We tried this site for the first time this year and it proved a pleasant start to our camping season. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the facilities were good. The large washing up area with fridge/freezer and charging points was a definite bonus.
The camping field easily accommodated every one and the fire pits that you can pitch up next to made for a cosy evening sat round the fire.
The only thing that we found slightly inconvenient was the length of the grass on the field, it was fairly long, which made it a bit difficult for the kids to play ball games. We gave a it a good go though!
We enjoyed a nice walk into to Cheriton, but sadly the pub there does not welcome children. We did however, have a very enjoyable evening at The Cricketers in Alresford, who were very accommodating and friendly.

We stayed here in July 2017, when walking the South Downs Way, which very conveniently goes through the site. Peaceful, good clean toilets & showers and a very friendly owner. An unexpected bonus for us was a hot water boiler where we could boil water for coffee (supply own coffee powder). Good maps available to explore the nearby scenic villages of Cherington and Tichbourne.

If you are looking for a site with a big field, views of the countryside, fire pits and good toilets/showers not far from two great cities, you should stay at Holden Farm.
We stayed on a Tuesday night to test our new tent and we weren't disappointed with our choice of site. The new block housing the office, showers toilets and large wash-up space is clean and tidy and a fridge and freezer is a great bonus.
The field has fire pits around the outside so we pitched close to one with a view we liked. We were one of only three visitors so there was plenty of space.
The South Downs Way runs right down one side of the site so it's a great spot for walkers. The National Trust's Hinton Ampner is not far away and the bluebell woods of the estate are a sight to see. Winchester is close by and Southampton is not far away so there is plenty to see and do if you want to see a city, not the countryside.
We are only half an hour away in Southampton and we will definitely be back for a one night stay to get away from the madness soon.

What a lovely find - I wanted a fairly basic campsite close to the South Downs Way and couldn't have chosen better!
The South Downs Way literally goes through the farm so we were able to cycle the 7 miles into Winchester (which is beautiful) and the next day we cycled in the other direction to a nearby village.
There are currently 2 portable showers - which are very clean with plenty of hot water. There are 2 separate loos (one in the stable block and another in a barn) which were both fine. There is also a fridge and water for washing up. This site has only been open 2 months so I believe they may improve facilities in the future. The only thing you might find is that if you are in the far corner of the field it can be a walk to the facilities but only a minor issue. If you are looking for a site with entertainment and family friendly activities then this isn't the one (probably why I like it).
The owners are very friendly and helpful and I would happily visit again!
