What a lovely campsite. We arrived for August bank holiday having booked in advance and were met with a very warm welcome by the owner. The farm is about 5 minutes drive from Brockenhurst and about ten minutes walk to a local pub.
The field itself is long and fairly thin and was reasonably crowded (baring in mind the date!) but he had been careful not to over book. It is surrounded by other fields and had at one end sets of two showers which produced plenty of hot water to shower in even though they are temporary. Toilets are in little wooden huts and don't smell bad even though they are compostable. Slightly rougher than the campsites run by the forestry commission but with out the resulting huge price tag and crowdedness!
It's possible to hire a fire pit and plenty of wood but do book in advance and we also bought sausages from the farmer which were lovely and roasted them on the fire,
There is the train line across the field but it's really not very loud and not very busy. I'm a light sleeper and I hardly noticed it. Lots of nature noise going on to distract me, you hear loads of owls from this field.
We cycled straight out from the farm onto a lovely route around villages, forest and heathland finishing at the nearest pub, which wasn't cheap but looked lovely.
Dogs allowed at the site and the farmer will freeze your ice packs for you. Great little site to visit for a change form the larger ones in the middle of town.

Just returned from a 2 night stay on Teddys Farm. We absolutely loved the whole experience. Never been on a site with compost toilets before but they were great, cleaned regularly and airy and not too smelly. We hired a fire pit with a BBQ grill and spent both evenings happily sitting round the fire toasting marshmallows and eating delicious sausages from the farm.
We didn't bother with the showers really as only there a couple of nights but we had a look they were clean and had hot water twice a day. The views all around were beautiful there were owls In the woods at night, sheep bleating and the sounds of horses whinnying all of which made for an idyllic country setting.
You can pick your pitch when you arrive just leave 6 metres between you and someone else's tent. Teddy was out and about making sure everyone was happy and dropping off fire pits if you wanted to hire one along with logs and selling sausages and bacon if you were interested (we were - both delicious).
Families and couples often with dogs plenty of space for kids to roam. We walked to some of the New Forest National park from the site which was great and found a nice pub in Sway. We really didn't want to leave so will hopefully return when it is open again in August.
If you want full facilities and club house etc this is not the site for you. If you are happy to go back to basics this is perfect with a bit of hot water luxury thrown in. Wouldn't change anything we loved it.

We have just come back from Teddys Farm which is a 28 day camp site, the rest of the year it is a working farm field.
To explain the ratings below:
Site Location, just below Brockenhurst - just right for New Forest which is why you would stay there.
Site Facilities were cleaned a couple of times a day and always in good order. Don't be scarred of Thunderbox composting toilets, they work OK and the showers were fine too. The showers were available morning and early evening rather than 24 hours, but then all this equipment is set up for 1st August and removed 1st September so it does need to be a bit portable.
Value was good because we were a large family group of 6 with 4 tents which some sites would charge a fortune for but the charges were reasonable.
Service was really good, friendly site owner being available by being on site and saying Hi every so often, so if there had of been issues they could have been sorted no problem.
For child friendly I've put 8 as there are no specific facilities for children. That said it is a really large field, with good new fences so loads of room to play. If kids want amusments and a pool this is not for you, if kids want space to play in a peaceful setting and being on a real working farm then this is the place.
This site is very 'rural', it is down a long farm track and just before we camped it had been used for grazing, hence sheep wool and animal droppings around. You can hear the local trains but it is not invasive and when we were there the amount of space was fantastic. It is very dark as it is a couple of fields away from the lane which does not have lights any way!
If you want a perfectly laid out camp site with neat hedges, marked pitches, drinks bar, shop, electric hooks ups etc etc then this is not for you.
If you want a really rural site which is on a working farm with crops and grazing animals in the fields around you this is ideal.
