We had a very warm and friendly welcome on our arrival, from such lovely people. This is a beautiful site with natural surroundings, and superb views.
An amazing traditionally built little building with two wonderfull showers, and wash up area good.
Simple amenities, but just perfect. Lovely vases of wild flowers in both these areas was a lovely touch.
Our weather was not so good but we had a great walk up on to the Black Hill ( highly recommended to walk from the site) We also had a bike ride from the site which was wonderful too. Towards Hay on Wye, and then up over the Gospel Pass in to Llantony, Longtown, and back to Craswall.
Well done Simon and Anita for creating this little gem of a site, and good luck for the future.
We will be back.
Thank you.

The campsite was wonderful. It was on a real farm with a real herb garden and chickens (I named one very friendly hen Fluffy-Butt the Well-Endowed because she had such a puffed-out backside) and had spring water and solar paneled guest facilities (including a hot shower) that were easy to get to but far enough down the hill and behind trees so that you felt like you were camping in sufficiently rustic environs. And the view! Magnificent! You could see the Black Mountains and the Golden Valley and your tent was smack in the middle of a meadow bursting with celandines (colloquially known as buttercups) and cow parsley and all sorts of other wild flowers in full bloom. The kids all played noisy outdoor games in the nicely mown spaces for romping behind the tents and got a little sunburned and were enjoyed so much fresh air and sunshine and exercise that they ate like horses and slept like logs the whole weekend. All that, and it was only a 15 minute drive to Hay-on-Wye. Loved it!

Wow. What a campsite.
A great layout with fields of wild flowers and tent pitches mowed out of the wild flowers - beautiful!
Its remote and feels remote but nice facilities, hot water showers and wash up and nice toilets.
Wood and fire pits available.
Great for kids, safe and a large area moved in the Center of one of the fields for children to play in.
Hay on Wye a 15 minute drive away - a lovely town.
Some great local walks - must visit Cranwall Church (a few minutes walk from camp site)
The owners went above and beyond to help in any way they could.
We will be back soon.

Just returned from a great weekend at this beautiful campsite.
For me the standout feature of this campsite is the pitches that are mown out semicircles of a wild flower meadow. The pitches are well spaced out and there's plenty of room.
The site is in a quiet, remote area so no traffic noise and amazing views of the stars due to the lack of light pollution. The toilets and showers were always clean with plenty of free hot water. There is a washing up area that contains fridges and power points that are also free to use.
There's plenty of space to go exploring and woods for the kids to build dens in.
Although the campsite is in a remote area I was able to pick up a 4G signal on my phone, this did not really interest me but I'm sure some will find it useful.
There's plenty to do in the area, I recommend a trip Hay on Wye and also the Gospel pass which is the highest road in Wales, it feels like you can see the whole world from up there.
Simon the owner is happy to sell you local beers, ciders and other local produce. I thoroughly recommend this site to get away from it all.
