We decided to stay on this site because it was near to the walks we wanted to do, Tissington Trail and High Peak Trail.
We were pitched on the bottom field and I assumed this to be the touring field for caravans tents and motorhomes. The pitch we were given was gravel next to the toilet block. There are two taps marked motorhome water next to the pitches we were on. Unfortunately this is were motorhome facilities stopped. There is no drive over drain and we were told we could use the elsan point to drain our water.
The toilet block has two showers each side, considering the size of the touring area this will cause a few hold ups during the busier times.
Dogs are allowed but there is no dog walk area and it is quite a walk to take dogs off site.
To end it all the elsan point in the touring area was overflowing this morning. We were directed to another elsan point by a groundsman. He knew nothing about the problem.
I thought this site was expensive for what it offered. Motorhome users have different needs to caravans.

Just on our way home from another great weekend at newhaven campsite. We decided to site our tourer here after our first visit and must say it was the best decision we made. We come most weekends. The children love it, everyone is so friendly especially the staff Sue, Paul and James who have helped us when we have needed them and we always get a friendly wave on their frequent site patrols. There's plenty of space for the children to play and the grounds are kept immaculately. The campsite is also in a prime location to access nearby towns Matlock, Ashbourne, buxton etc where there's always something going on.
With all the stress of work and children it's been fantastic to have somewhere we love to relax at the weekends

We have been camping all over the UK and this is one of the best campsites we have ever stayed at, even the weather was kind to us for our trip!
It's hard to list all of the things that make this site so excellent, but I'll try! The wardens are lovely, they made us all feel very welcome. When we arrived they drove in front of us down to show us where to set up, which is a nice touch instead of just giving directions. They explained where everything was and all the facilities, making sure we were happy and comfortable. We were also presented with a booklet advertising the area which was full of local places and things to do. The position we had was excellent nice and flat. The site has a 10 mph limit, which is excellent and not only makes it safer for kids but also make it more relaxed and generally nicer.
The site itself is gorgeous, helped by the very small list of rules displayed in the toilets. You can tell that the wardens have high levels of presentation to the maintenance of the grounds, I don't think I saw one piece of rubbish anywhere. The site is on a grassy area with woodland around the edge. It was nice to enjoy a fresh proper coffee on arrival that are available at the shop. The shop itself presents a high standard and you can just tell how the rest of the site will match the high standards.
The facilities clean and passed the test of my slightly OCD family! The price we paid here was significantly less than we have paid elsewhere at sites that are just not in the same league as this place.
To summarise, this lovely family run business is a real gem, and you will not only have a lovely relaxing time but you will be made to feel really welcome and you'll want to come back again. My next job is to try and book again now for the summer holidays! As I am sure they easily get fully booked! Well done guys!

Very well looked after park. One of the better parks we've stayed at. Staff were very helpful and made sure we were happy. Went on a lovely walk. Really nice rolling countryside surrounds the park. Would definitely recommend!

This site is fantastic for a visit to the peak district great location. Well managed and spotlessly clean. The shop/reception is well stocked with all you need and if they don't have it, the managers who run the site go out their way to get it. Two shower/loo blocks cleaned twice daily and late at night ready for next morning rush hour. Two small play areas with swings/climbing frame and wooded areas for children to play in. Man and wife manage the park with a warden helping and they always are around speaking and interacting with their customers. Two camping areas for tents /tourers and lovely tree lined roads with shrubbed areas all around the site. Wifi is at the top of the park if you need it, well who these days doesn't. There are park benches where you can sit and enjoy a coffee from the shop and yes yes it's coffee beans while you wi fi away. Defo re visit and recommend this park.

We stayed here for 2 nights on the way home from another site. We phoned the morning we were due to arrive for availability and give the price over the phone. We arrived at half one in the afternoon to find nobody about, so knocked on the managers door where we were told by a man abruptly that they were having lunch. We were checked in 5 minutes later by a nicer lady and then we were taken to our pitch by the earlier man who remained somewhat abrupt. Apparently check in is after 2, although we couldn't find anywhere on their website that stated that and we also weren't informed over the phone.
Facilities on site were basic, the toilet/shower block was cold - due to the windows being propped ope permanently and the heating not working. Apparently they had no cleaner that weekend, and by Sunday the toilet block certainly was unclean. The shop appeared well stocked and there was a small park for children.
The site is very close to the main road between Ashbourne and Buxton so there was quite a bit of road noise in the bottom field where we were sited.
The site itself was nice, lots of nature and well maintained, just a shame the staff lacked social skills and the toilet block was freezing. We got the impression they also care more about the seasonal members than the non-regulars. We won't be returning.

Myself, husband and children 6&9 stayed for 3 nights over the August bank holiday weekend in our tent, we found the campsite clean and tidy, staff helpful and always seen cleaning and tidying throughout the day. The children enjoyed the park areas and wasn't short of other children similar ages to play with. The site is a nice size, not to big that you have to wait for the toilet or shower and the site looked full during my stay. There was 2 blocks to chose from and both were close by and a handy on site shop.
Not far off site there is a great farm shop and also a reasonably priced bar restaurant called Carriages, I would highly recommend giving both a visit.
I would return to this campsite and would recommend it.

We have just come back from this amazing site. Management and wardens am amazing, very friendly and definitely helpful.
Lovely clean and tidy site. Toilets and showers am also very clean. Washing machines if you want to use them. Onsite shop always stacked up. Lovely walks on site. Also have 2 little parks. Absolutely perfect for families and for people who want to relax. Everyone on site is lovely.
Plenty to do around the area, Buxton Tissington, Ashbourne, matlock and loads of walks to do.
I will definitely be returning next year and the year after that.
We cannot fault the management and there staff at all.

We were warmly welcomed by Paul and his lovely wife who were very accommodating and went out of their way to make us, and our children, feel at home. The quiet and relaxing site is spaced out with a variety of well-kept pitches, we were even asked if we would like full or partial sun! The toilet and shower facilities were always available and cleaned to a high standard. The little shop had all essentials and more. This site is perfectly situated with access to many picturesque walks and bike rides. I can thoroughly recommend this site and we will definitely be returning.
