We arrived a few at a time, and Eddie was fantastic, showing us the best places to pitch our group, and brought his BBQ over for us to use for the weekend, as a special treat, and even included some coals!
The facilities are always clean, warm, and nicely presented, with lovely showers, and lots of space. Music is constantly playing in the showers/toilets, which gives it a real homely feel.
The site itself, is always tidy, and Eddie or another member of staff, are always to hand, for any issues/queries! We have now stayed at the site a few times, and will be back again during 2019! Such a relaxed atmosphere and in such a beautiful location, but with shops and pubs only a short distance! We can’t wait! 😁

After looking for a site in easy reach of the NEC one quick phone call to Eddie led us here. Tucked away behind Yew Tree Cottage is a small, flat camping field with a few hard standing pitches. After a dry spell we could park on the (immaculate) mown grass under the shade of a mature hedge.
Across the way is the utility block (again small) with a sink for washing up and very spacious single shower/ toilet rooms (one for men, one for women).
After meeting friendly Eddie, a landscaper, some of the more interesting features of the site garden, with a permanent gazebo, mirrors, a boat (yes, a small yacht is beached in the garden) and lots of new-looking hedging, made sense.
From the site a 10 minute walk down a quiet lane gets you to the local village (Shustoke) with a community shop for essentials and a CAMRA pub, for other essentials.
15 minutes drive gets you to the NEC.
This was, for us, just about perfect. Friendly, easy and quiet and very reasonable compared to some other near-Birmingham sites. No complex booking arrangements either; just phone and turn up.
A couple more things: the access to the shower block is flat and paved; no steps, wide doors so useable by folks with mobility problems.
If there's any niggle at all, the view south is a bit pylony; also Eddie made clear when we phoned there is as yet no electric hook up but, surrounded by wheat fields and with blackbirds and throughshes feeding in the field, this sunny little haven was a grand spot to spend a night and we will definitely go back.
