Absolutely loved the site ! Everything you could possibly want from a site in such lovely countryside.
The owners - Michelle and Ken are lovely people and so friendly. They made us feel very welcome.
The site and facilities are very clean and tidy. It’s so peaceful and with such wonderful views of the countryside.
Great walks nearby and not far from the town for shopping etc. With easy parking for Motorhomes.
Great play area on site for children. Indoor games room too ! TV and internet reception are very good.
We will definitely return and stay longer next time.

What an outstanding site. The owners are really friendly and super helpful. The pitches are well spaced and this is an idyllic rural retreat complete with horses and dogs. There is a games room which houses a full size pool table, a table tennis table, sofas, kitchen facilities including a dishwasher for everyones use along with a large screen tv.
Although only one shower each for ladies/gents, there's lashings of hot water, immaculately clean toilets and just a well maintained and cared for site.
A beautifully run site and only a stones throw from major A roaf routes.
I cannot recommend Bonners Lodge enough and it's 11/10 from us!

Our first visit to this wonderful little site, close to home and perfect for a weekend visit. Michelle and Ken have worked hard to create a lovely environment with immaculate facilities, a great games room complete with fridge, freezer, microwave, washing-up area etc, and all set within an 8-pitch field with fabulous views of County Durham, and Mr Cutie himself - Rusty the miniature Shetland pony. Absolutely no road traffic noise at all. Families with children will love this site - table tennis, pool & table-football for the young teens, with lots of toys for the younger children, as well as an outdoor play area. Lots of walking and cycling opportunities are within easy reach. We will definitely return to this site.

This site could be better. Poor sized uneven pitches, rough ground leading to pitches, general state of untidiness, owner does not reply to e-mails, on the plus side toilets are good, but pitches very expensive for where site is and what you get. Sorry but would not return.

Bonners Lodge Caravan Park is located a couple of miles off the A68 about six miles south of Consett. The site is high with wonderful easterly views across towards Durham. Access from the A68 is along 2 miles of a very smooth single track newly resurfaced road.
The site has only been open since the end of July and Michelle and Ken have gone that extra mile or it's probably truer to say that extra pound of investment to present the site at the top end of quality. The Rain Forest shower and immaculately clean facilities are the measure. That's the big and meaningful stuff, offering quality branded liquid soap and conditioners and not your supermarket own brand is but a minor but nevertheless a further indicative measure of where Michelle and Ken's standards are set. I'm sure it will come but even though it's only a small site for just seven units another shower will be of benefit.
There is a very spacious games and leisure room with big TV, Pool Table and comfy sofas. Outside, a patio and BBQ area.
We didn't have children with us but it's a perfect location for a family with a play/adventure area with swings etc and Michelle's horse and Shetland grazing nearby. Further afield there is the Beamish Museum, we spent two days there and we didn't have children a real 'must visit' for all.
LED lighting is provided all around the perimeter fence and other locations giving a very pleasing and helpful effect. All the pitches have hook-ups and TV Points.
For cyclists, The Waskerley Way runs very close by and is accessible from the site along a 'green lane' but in truth is only suitable for a mountain type bike as opposed to a road or hybrid. If you are riding the latter, drive or ride off the site to one of the parking access points for the Waskerley Way or indeed any of the several 'off road' dedicated local cycle routes.
Shops and pubs etc. Are not a walk 'round the corner or down the road' but probably better that they are not!
Finally, last but definitely not least you must experience a Michelle & Ken breakfast (it's a B&B too)! We had stayed for nearly a week and promised ourselves a farewell breakfast to drive home on. It was one of the very best we have ever had. I'm not talking quantity here, although indeed it was a feast but the quality was stupendous. All local produce, and if you like black pudding you will have found your ultimate heaven!
Bonners Lodge is not the cheapest small site but it's a quality site that I feel sure will maintain its standards. As ever you only ever get what you pay for.

This is a wonderful small van site which we will certainly return to if in the area again. It has only been open a few weeks but it has been so well thought out. Ken and Michelle are a lovely couple and are full of local information which they are happy to share with you and we wish them well for the future. The location is absolutely stunning and very easy to find and is a human and dog walking paradise. The facilities are immaculate and are like home from home. There is a lovely patio and BBQ area to use if weather permits. All in all we made a good decision to stay here just wish we'd taken some carrots for the lovely horses.

The site is in an easily accessible area (a couple miles off the A68), and the scenery is idyllic. It's a small, quiet site, and very new. The facilities are fantastic with large, spotlessly clean WCs and showers, a great little play park space, and what's going to be a smart little indoor play space (building work ongoing, looks like will be finished in the very near future).
The area itself is a walker's paradise, with Waskerley Way just round the corner, however, it's not too far from civilisation either - Consett is just up the road where you can get your usual shopping, and the likes of Durham City and Stanhope are each just a short drive away.
Michele was an extremely friendly host and made us feel very welcome, and for all this site is quite local to us we will be back for sure.
Two bits of essential kit to take with you to this site - strong pegs (there must be hardcore just under the grass) and midge spray.

Just returned from 4 excellent nights at Bonners Lodge. A newly opened park with excellent facilities and customer service second to none. The heated shower block was spotless the shower was excellent with plenty of space. The pitches have fantastic views and we look forward to returning as soon as we can. Thank you to Ken and Michele for making our break special.
