The site is picturesque, but the shower facilities are to be admired, its a £5.00 deposit to use the toilets and a £8.00 key pass for the gate. The toilet disposal point is a toilet situated inside a wall which you have to lift up to empty which I found difficult. The showers and toilet block were cold and you have to stand up the corner to get the water on you, with plastic mats to stand on and water everywhere. This site caters mainly for statics, they are well maintained, the touring caravans are basically put anywhere with very limited parking spaces. As you cant park by the van you have to use the car parks which were full. At £14.00 a night found very expensive considering there is nothing on offer

Only 10 minutes from jn18 of the M6 so has excellent access.
It is a small, but quiet site. As other reviewers have commented it is mainly statics, which are immaculate, with a small area for visiting tents or caravans.
Staff showed us to our pitch and made sure we were happy and also made it clear that if we had any problems just to call in at the duty managers caravan.
Our pitch was next to the children's play area which consisted of a couple of swings but the children on site amused themselves for hours playing hide and seek in the small wooded areas and making up games.
The facilities are basic but functional and kept very clean. If my children were younger a family room would have been helpful but as they are 4 and 9 we managed perfectly well. I would suggest that the showers need an upgrade sooner rather than later, although 50p gave plenty of time the water pressure was quite low.
There was no noise, even during the day apart from a little traffic on the adjacent road. Some lovely wildlife: bats, an owl and several birds nests visible from our tent which kept us amused.
Holmes Chapel(5 mins) has a lovely selection of independent shops and provided us with a perfect picnic lunch. Jodrell Bank is nearby and Shakerley Mere has a nice walk around it, the children were impressed by the young Great Crested Grebes and the 12 ducklings we saw!
Knutsford(10mins)is a little bigger and has a supermarket and a wider selection of shops and boutiques and is home to Tatton Park which is a lovely family day out.
We had a very enjoyable stay and will be returning again soon.

We booked here, last minute (2 adults, 2 children and a large dog) and we were lead to a lovely quiet part of the site. In a lovely wooded area. The site has mainly statics, which are immaculate. Everyone really friendly. Set up on grass, which was fine as weather dry, but it could be a problem if it rained as grass soft. This shouldn't be a problem, if you are able to push your caravan. Very safe for children. Toilets clean, however they did have a habit of cleaning them at 10ish in the morning which was a bit inconvenient. Only 2 showers, which you need 50p coin for. It wasn't ideal for my 1 year old as no family room, but we managed for a weekend. Got a bit crowded on 2nd day, as no much parking so most people parked on the grass. At edge of road. They don't allow you to park next to caravan. No ball games allowed either. Had power cut on the Sunday but it only lasted for 10mins. Lovely garden centre next door, with a minature railway and pitch and put for kids. It also sells, bread, sweets, crisps, and there is a great coffee shop. Which is child friendly. Late Shop short drive away, and lots of off licences. Lots to do in surrounding area whatever the weather. Chldrens play area was in working order but busy most of the time. Just make sure you have cash when you arrive as they don't take card or cheque, but you do get £15 when you return toilet key and pass to get out. Very reasonable holiday and would use again for weekends. If you like nature this is for you. There is cuckoo that sings all day, and bats that visit at night. Which my eldest child loved.

Stayed here for the weekend. Nice site mainly static caravans. Toilets/ showers and launderette clean. Five min walk to fishing lake and small shop. Only issue is the kids play area could do with a little care (only one swing working) but there is a kids park just up the road. Make sure you have plenty of cable for the electric hook up. We loved it (2 adults 2 kids in a folding camper) nice quiet site qith friendly owners and will go back for weekend get away, we are already booked for next weekend.

Residential site with lovely wooded area for tents, little bit too cramped together for me though. Small wooded play area. Toilet blocks spotless, wash area very clean and adequate. Grounds very well kept and clean. Nice site to walk round with little fishing pond in middle, nice and quiet place, everyone very friendly, 5 min drive to Holmes Chapel. Bit out of the way so may not go back, but is a nice site.

We stayed here for 3 nights over the bank holiday weekend. We stayed here so we could visit our friends in Stockport. It is a lovely site, we were pitched in a lovely wooded area. The site was very busy due to the bank holiday, but we had enough space. We couldnt park our car next to the tent, we had to park it in a parking space away from the tent. The toilet block is clean, the showers were 50p, but when I used them they were cold. We had to leave a 15.00 deposit for a key to use the toilets, which we got back when we left. There is mainly static caravans and mobile homes on the side, but they are very well kept. There is a lake on the site, there is also a play area for the children. There is a garden centre just up the road which has a cafe and a miniature railway. We visited the Crocky Trail which is in Chester, It took about a hour to get there, its very good for children. We enjoyed our stay and will be coming here again next August

Stayed at this site for a couple of nights on our way to the lakes, and to show off our new van to our family that live in the area! The site is mainly set out for statics and residential park homes but well maintained with there stunning gardens. There is also a small lake on site for fishing and a larger one within five minutes walk which was great for stretching the legs. The pitch was OK , but did think I was a bit close to the guy next to me. The toilet block was clean, a tad dated, and the showers are still 50p a go. You need a key for the shower block which costs £5 but you get this back on departure. The site served its purpose but provided us no great wish to return even though its a stunning location and so quiet.

May 2004 Used this site as a half-way overnight point on my central Scotland to Sussex coast travels.
The site (all level) is mainly residential caravans (100+), the touring pitches (about £14/night - 2 adults/3 kids + elec) being in one small area to the side. Pitches are quite close amongst trees, although only stopping for one night that didn't bother us. Showers/toilets were clean - showers were 50p - why don't they include that in the price or perhaps give out tokens if they're bothered about people staying in them too long?
No site shop, although Holmes Chapel, which I believe is fairly sizeable, is only a couple of miles away.
Enjoyed the stays and was glad to be so close to the M6 (!) to resume the journey each time.
