We stayed at The Marsh for a couple of weeks in January whilst waiting for our house move to go through. Allowing us to get to know the area before relocating. Huw was extremely kind and accommodating and was a font of local knowledge.
The site itself is no-frills, clean, tidy and quiet. There are currently a handful of spacious hardstanding EHU pitches, with a fabulous view over the pond and tidal marsh. Well equipped with everything you need; water, CDP, dog walk and the good company of cows, sheep and chickens (who lay the most beautiful golden yolk eggs, but you have to speak to them every day and ask nicely).
There are lovely walks around the local countryside and several directly accessible from the campsite. The village is a short 4-minute drive away and is equipped with everything you need.
Our girls enjoyed feeding the livestock with Huw and had fun helping set out his decoy ducks and geese on the marsh. They were lucky enough to spot a kingfisher and we also saw lots of birds of prey, including regular visits from the barn owl.
We sadly didn't get to see the otters playing in the river but will be back to hunt for them again.
There is a pylon on site but it didn't interfere with phone or TV reception. The Marsh is a lovely little site with plans for more amenities over the coming months. A real gem!

Enjoyed a good couple of nights at this site.
Friendly welcome by the owner Huw, nothing was too much trouble for him and even gave us a box of free range eggs, lovely gesture.
Had a hardstanding pitch, with hook up, over looking the pond, with countryside all around.
The road next to the site was quite busy, but quietened down later in the day.
There is a bus (222) that passes the site. You can flag it down from outside.
The coastal path runs through the site.
There are recycling facilities, chemical desposal and a portaloo on site, also good TV reception.
Would recommend.

The Marsh is a very small, quiet campsite situated on the main St Clears to Laugharne road, which can be busy at times. The main site has acres of space to explore is paths down to the river.
The wales coast path also runs through the site with easy access to walk in either direction along the coast/river. There is a dog exercise / toileting area.
The campsite itself has 2 large hardstanding pitches with electric hook up space for several tents/vans. There is a service area with drinking water, chemical disposal point but no showers.
The very friendly owners, who do not live on site, but do live locally said that there will be toilets/showers in place by next summer and they have plans to continue to improve the site over the winter period.
If you like the hustle and bustle of a larger site, then this is not the place for you, also, I don't think its suitable for young children as there are some areas of deep water that are not fenced off.
However, if you enjoy the quiet of the countryside, looking out for wildlife (in abundance), and looking up at the stars (dark sky area) then this is the place to be for a quiet, relaxing getaway.
We enjoyed it so much the first time, we went back again 2 weeks later.
