We were rather disappointed with this site. We knew before we arrived that there had been a bad fire and that the club house had been totally lost, but we were not informed that the fun factory had been converted to a day nursery and was, therefore, also unavailable. To add to this, the swimming pool had very restricted opening times, (10am - 12pm and 2pm - 4pm) so we couldn't just duck in for a swim when we felt like it. The shower blocks were reasonably clean, however the water was scalding hot in the ladies, which left me unable to shower my two young daughters all week! This site is ok if you don't intend to spend much time on it, but we felt that it certainly did not provide very good value for money. We will not be visiting it again.

October 2004 Just got back from Newton Hall Oct 04 went there because it had a high review on this site. It would have been great but the club house and the Wacky Warehouse and all that burnt down in Sept 04. If you want to go out there is a free bus to their other site about half an hours drive to Broadwater, but you will have to pay to get in there club house. The bus is from 7pm till 11pm or 7.45pm untill 11.45 pm so if you have kids you will be stuck in the concert room with them trying to goto sleep because you have to wait until 11pm for the first bus back to your van. Also watch out near the park there was about 10 teenage kids there last night from 12.30am untill about 1.30 making noise and messing about. Good site shame about the club that they do not tell you when you book and pay in advance.

oct 2004 This was the first site that we have visited in our folding camper and decided to go based on the reviews. The other reviews were spot on, the site is fab, very clean, facilities excellent, my 4 year old was chuffed to bits when we went to the club house and they had a magician on. Disco room for the older children, a large concert room for families, couples (although kids only allowed in certain areas away from the bar). We caught the bus to Blackpool, very hassle free. Unsure of the times of return we caught a taxi which was £8 approx. The pool looked an adequate size. Amusements were great. The shop was well stocked and seemed open most of the time. Kids indoor play area (like wacky warehouse) catered for toddlers and older kids with lots of people supervising. Dish washing facilities were spotless. The toilets were opened by a key (apparently the toilets have been trashed before by vandals). We will be returing this year for the illuminations. Brilliant campsite 10/10

In fact we loved it so much that were going again this weekend. The facilities were excellent each pitch was in pleasant surroundings. campers and staff couldn't do enough for you.

This is not a large commercial site and only a half hour from the M6 motorway but the owners have provided many features for the wellbeing of anyone staying either in one of the static vans or in their own touring caravan. Apart from the normal site shop there is another selling hot carry out fish and chips etc and again there is the usual amusement machines as well as an indoor swimming pool. There is also a licensed club where children are allowed in and rather unusual, a bowling club with an outdoor and indoor rinks which visitors can use.
There is a proper bus stop at the entrance with buses every half hour taking you to the town centre or sea front etc. As if this were not enough there is also a small course fishing lake on the site that visitors can also use.
Perhaps the most redeeming feature of them all is that the owners put the comfort and safety of visitors above profits, by banning dogs from the site. Kids can run about and play on the grass in their bare feet without incurring serious risks to their health.
