First sight is of a building site although actually getting to the tourer park improved the outlook somewhat - clean/tidy/pitches good. However, disabled/baby changing facilities closed as a result of a fire which we were not informed about at time of booking on telephone. Website does have small disclaimer on booking form page but no good if you book by phone and nobody tells you! Next day second toilet block closed also for 'remedial works' which left two toilets and two showers (gents) for the entire park. Showers were very small and cramped with no temp control. Told that toilet block cleaned three times a day although evidence of this was sparse. Have been to sites much smaller with more available facilities and paid less for it. Would not recommend on basis of this stay. Left three days into six day booking

As a stopover, this site is fine. The approach is off putting but the site itself is ok. Facilities were basic but clean. No shop as such and no local details. You are pitched on a hill which can be very windy as we found out and is sloping. There is a lot of building going on which may improve the site. Would think twice before booking here again.

The approach to this site is certainly discouraging but it is worth the effort as, once inside, it is very clean, friendly and well managed. As a stopover to explore Glasgow it is excellent the trains are frequent, cheap and just about 20 mins walk away. There is a small car park at the station which you can certainly get into in the evening but may be full during the day.
On the downside there appears to be some controversy locally about this site and comments to this effect were made to us at a local filling station, this put a slight downer on a good experience.

We stayed for 2 nights in a caravan and found the site to be very basic. It isn't really ideal for a holiday. The area we were in was like a large stoney car park in the middle of numerous static caravans where people live all year round. There was nothing to do on the site at all. The toilets were clean and the showers were fine. It is within driving distance of shops with take away outlets. Only really suitable as a one night stop over with a tourer - or perhaps hiring one of their static caravans for a longer stay.

Conveniently close to M8 junctions 11 and 12 as a stopover on the way further north, or to visit the attractions of Glasgow. (Stepps railway station is a 20 minute walk away and has a good car park. Trains about half hourly. There are various multi-storey car parks in Glasgow and a large car park in King St. With no height restriction). The site isn't sign posted until you are nearly there.
There is a hard standing area for caravans and motorhomes, and a grassed area on the hill for all. Toilet facilities were immaculately clean, with free showers, dishwashing, launderette etc. There is no play area on site, but there is a public play area a short distance away.
Efforts have been made to make the site attractive - flower tubs and picnic tables, but some landscaping and redesigning of the whole area is needed before it becomes a site to spend a relaxing weekend.
