We stayed here for two nights as we were visiting friends who live just yards down the road.
The site is very pretty. Lots of trees and grass with a central grassed area which was lovely for the children to play badminton / ball games etc. It's a shame that, although high up, the site had no views over the town or sea. We had a fairly level pitch but the site is generally very uneven.
The toilet and shower blocks were pretty awful. Brick buildings with lots of graffiti inside and out - made me feel nervous about possible security. The showers were just curtains across and were small. No soap in the basins or hand dryers. Very very basic.
One washer and dryer in the laundry block. Quite reasonable and did a really good job. However, bit of a queue as some people had been rained out of other sites earlier in the week. There was another laundry room in the static park just up the road.
North Berwick is a gorgeous little town and an easy 20 minute walk from the site (uphill on the way back). Lots of bistros, restaurants and small shops - very upmarket. The beach is beautiful and the sea very blue. You can catch a train every 30 minutes or so into Edinburgh - takes about 25-30 minutes and is very reasonable. Goes into Waverley Station, just around the corner from the tour buses. It's a commuter route so best to go outside peak hours if you want a seat.
We will come here again as it's convenient for visiting our friends, otherwise we would try the other site in North Berwick as the facilities here are just not good enough.

This campsite is in a nice scenic location, ideal for couples or individuals looking for a quiet break. If you are looking for entertainment for children this is not the place for as only a sport centre near by. There is no swing park or games room which would prove beneficial to the site as the owners are very helpful.
Unfortunately with the bad weather the site was very water logged. Especially the tent area
The facilities were well maintained, clean and tidy although some toilet locks were broken, the showers were very clean and well maintained, the laundry was on the ladies block but there was a door that men could access but could not go passed last sink as you would come to ladies shower area.
Within in a short walking distance is north berwick town centre, with lovely pubs, restaurants for meals, I would recommend the country pub.
Also close by near haddington taking b1347 you come to a Sunday market which was good to get some bargains
Overall I would give the site a 7/10

My wife and I found this to be a very well kept site except the toilet blocks. These were old brick built units which, had no running hot water to the sinks and the locks on the cubical doors were broken and needed renewing. Inside the wc cubicals could have been painted to brighten them up instead they were bare brick and they could have had proper windows instead of glass bricks.
There was also no dish washing area on site and the laundry was situated in the ladies toilets. (Do men, on their own, not need to wash their clothes?)
We both liked the area and there was plenty to see and do like visit the Seabird Centre, harbour, and various other tourist attractions nearby, as well as lounge around the site to relax. It is also a very prominant golfing area and there was a tennis competition being held in the town when we visited.
We were pleased to note that when we asked for electric hookup the owner asked to see our set up as he would not allow home made hookup systems Ours was ok and he remarked that it was one of the very few.

Stayed for a couple of nights with a group, very well maintained mature site with plenty of trees for cover, each camping areas is set out with about 7 pitches with a small sandpit in the middle which would be great for kids. At night the site was very quiet which suited us.
The toilet and shower block where clean but basic with no hot water in the gents.
It was 15min walk into Town, the areas itself has lots to offer with beachs, hills and easy access into Edinburgh.

This was my and a friend's first camping experience in many years and I am glad to report an extremely happy one.
The campsite owners were very welcoming and after showing us around left us to our own devices.
The site was very quite in mid May and very well maintained. Toilet and washing facilities were great as were the free hot showers.
The tent part of the site feels very rural with the atmosphere of an orchard. This was contributed to in no small part by the birds dawn chorus!
We had a dog with us which like us was made very welcome.
This was our first experience of camping for years but we felt that the 6 pounds per person per night was a good deal.
It is difficult to find fault with this site. However I would try and avoid Thursdays as the peace is shattered by the lengthy and noisy rubbish collection. This was made worse as this is the day they decided to mow the grass!
North Berwick is a well heeled seaside town with great walks along the coast all the way to Aberlady (about 15km). This area has lots of castles and gardens with a golf course over every hill an added bonus is the Museum of Flight with a Concorde to view.

Exceptionally friendly and helpful wardens on this site which gives beautiful views of Berwick Law and along the Firth of Forth towards Edinburgh. Nicely located for a ten minute walk into town although this includes a steep hill of a couple of hundred metres in length so not suitable if you don't like walking!
Grounds are beautifully maintained with plenty of room around the pitches and a huge green play area in the centre.
The site is let down by very shabby toilet and shower facilities though. Although both blocks were nice and clean, they are unheated, draughty and unwelcoming; although the showers themselves were hot and roomy. There is no hot water to taps in the gents wash hand basins although there is in the ladies, albeit via press down taps.
There is no special dish washing area either and the laundry is in true 1960's fashion, located in the ladies facilities.
The above wouldn't be such a problem if the fees were consistent with the facilities but at £18.80/night at the end of September I felt ripped off, especially as we'd arrived there from Loch Lomond where we'd paid £15/night for a suerb site.
I know North Berwick quite well and it is undergoing a slow cultural change with several new cafes and restaurants opening rescently. One of the nicest seaside towns to visit in the UK and you will have to search deliberately and hard to find tat for sale. Whatever you do visit Anderson's butchers and try.Everything, especially the homemade Scotch pies. Yum yum.

July 2001 and 2002 Myself and a few friends have been to this campsite for the past to years in a row and we hope to return in July of this year.
We keep coming back because it is good value for money, the toilets and showers are nice and clean and the Centre of North Berwick is only a short walk away.
