August 2004 Fantastic hospitality had their annual beer festival on when we arrived. Live music Fri Sat and Sun. Bar staff great, chef excellent even though they were very busy. Toilets and showers immaculate hot water available. Wash room all day, small laundry room with all needed facilities. Site beautiful - nearest shop approx 6 miles so dont forget to call there on your way back if you leave the site. Canal right next to pub with loads of boats pulling up etc Ducks and wildlife etc Nice kids play area. Whole area very clean. 25 real ales on at Aug bank hols. We have a 2 year old and he loved it. Family run sit and pub and it shows will definitely return

July 2004 We didn't have any trouble finding this place with the website directions, but it is about 5 miles off the main road so no chance of finding it on a road map. There was only about 9 or 10 grass pitches, but electric was available and was very cheap. I think we paid £4.50 per night for 2 of us. The rest of the park is statics and you have to walk past them to the top of the park for the toilets and showers, but these are clean and warm. The shower was coin operated. Didn't try the pub but it looked friendly enough. It took about 15 minutes to drive to Lincoln and well placed for RAF bases in the area, especially Waddington. Would go back, peaceful campsite with no traffic noise whatsoever.

July 2004 We were impressed by the location, out in the middle of a fen. Also the pub sold the best real ale I've ever tasted, brewed by the Poacher Brewery at Swinderby. The pub is friendly and serves meals. A lot of custom comes from the nearby river. The site was possibly too quiet for us, as at one point we were the only tent on site. However, some people will like that. When we were there there was a temporary warden, so the site was not cleaned for a few days. The facilities were pretty basic, but that did not bother us because there were no queues. It was quite cheap as well. Overall, recommended if you like a quiet site.

July 2004 This site is worth visiting just for the pub. It was very friendly, and the beer was the best I can remember. It is made at the Poacher micro-brewery at Swinderby. Many of the customers come in boats on the River Witham. The site itself is located out on a fen, which is a strange place, very flat, but strangely fascinating. It is very quiet, and for two nights we were the only ones camping. The facilities are very basic, but as there was no pressure on them that did not bother us. My partner said there was a problem with the women's shower not working properly. Also, there was a temporary warden and the facilities were not cleaned for a few days. Despite that, I would recommend the site as long as you don't mind it being very quiet
