Thanks for excellent showers, and our new heater was excellent for frosty mornings. We found the site to be very quiet at night, even though near to road, and pitches very good size.
Lochgilphead could do with a good pub with pub meals but we found the Argyll cafe which was fine for fish and chips.

Each time we go back to this site its a little better. This time there are new fully serviced pitches with water, waste, electric and tv for £23 per night. Large pitches with enough room for car, caravan and awning on hardstanding with a grass area separating each pitch.
Wifi is included in pitch price across the site. Regular non fully services pitches with electric are £20. 00.
There is new landscaping around the site which has softened the views and made it much less municipal. Everything is really well kept and tidy including the loos and showers.
As previous reviews the site is perfect for Crinan Canal with has a great towpath for cycling or walking. The town has a few touristy shops, a couple of hardware shops, a butchers etc and a decent sized Coop.
The owners on site are really friendly and helpful, nothing too much trouble. Again would say the laundry did not bother us in anyway, if you are on the main site you do not see or hear anyone coming to use it - on the overnight pitches near reception you probably would.

This was our third visit to this site as it is only a few minutes walk into Lochgilphead and is handy for the mid-Argyll attractions.
There are a mix of touring pitches and statics. Pitches are large enough and the roads round the park are good. The toilet block is acceptable and there is also an exterior wash up area.
One thing to note if you pitch close to the toilet block is that there are several large commercial washing machines and dryers which are very noisy and are used by locals as well as campers.
Good value at £20. 00 per night.

We stayed for 2 nights, hadn't pre-booked but 'turned up'- no problem. A very warm friendly welcome from the owner who explained everything about the site and where everything was. The toilets/showers were more than adequate clean/tidy and with room to move about & dry oneself and loads of hot water. You could choose your own pitch either in the camp site or in the central square all hard standing with EHU and watertaps within a few yards.
The site is within 5 mins walking of the town, and 10 mins from the Crinan Canal towpath where you can walk or cycle the 7 miles to the Canal basin.
In town there is a CO-OP with parking and also a Tesco Metro /Esso petrol stn, + some other range of small local shops.
This is a good site and inexpensive for overnight stops.

Nice site, hard standings with ehu, toilet block very clean if a little outdated, showers could do with a little more pressure, situated southern end of town. Easy access to all amenities in town. A few pubs to choose from and places to eat, found the Smiddy's excellent for food. Good base for surrounding areas. Canal path a few yards away for Ardrishaig or Crinan walk/cycling. Will definitely be using this site again.

Stayed two nights here in May towards the end of a two week tour of Scotland and really liked it. It is urban so don't expect any views but it is only a short walk to the main street and even shorter walk to views of sea loch. A decent COOP is not far away too. We based ourselves here to explore the sites of Kilmartin Glen which are excellent.
A good number of hard standing places are available with EHU. There are a good few statics on the site too. In the middle of the site is camping field for tents with a few picnic tables.
Facilities were clean and smelt fresh every time you walked in.
This is a really good touring base for this part of Scotland.

This is a very good Site, well, located in an interesting part of Argyll. It could serve as any one of a stopping point on the way down the Mull of Kintyre, a different route to Oban or a base to visit the area. We hadn't booked but got a Site with ehu without any trouble. We had a hard standing with plenty of space. As others have said, toilet and amenities blocks weren't brand new but were very clean. The Site is just off the 'Main' Road but we weren't troubled by traffic noise. Free Wifi was good too. Murrays Fish Shop in town does excellent smoked salmon.

Had an excellent week long stay at this site. The owners were extremely friendly and accommodating. A short walk form the site into town with all amenities. The loch is just over the road from the site, although when the tide was out the beach appeared to be mud flats. The Crinan Canal towpath is less than ten minutes walk away and is the best surfaced towpath I have encountered in over 35 years of taking canal boat holidays. The towpath provides leisurely walks to Ardrishaig or Cairnbaan and beyond to Crinan. A handy dog exercise area is provided on site but as usual some users fail to pick up and bin dog waste. The toilets and showers were clean and well kept. There is a covered dish wash area and also a launderette which is also well used by local residents. I would not hesitate to use this site again if ever in the area in the future

We saw the mixed reviews on here before we stayed on this site. For us, the positive reviews much more accurately reflect the site.
The owner was friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable about the area. We hadn't booked but were booked in and on a pitch in under 5 minutes. We were offered one of the hard standing pitches or the hardstanding area near the entrance. We had water fill and empty on the pitch, wifi included and ehu.
The loos and showers are old - spotlessly clean, piping hot water and good pressure (no press button either). The laundry was a godsend - £4 for a massive washing machine, then £1 for 17 minutes in the tumble dryer - £2 dryed everything we had. Not sure why the laundry bothers so many reviewers, its no different than if it was next door - the locals who use it do not come anywhere near your pitch, unless you are on the central area you wouldn't even see them.
The site is less than 2 minutes cycle from the Crinan Canal cycle path, 24 miles of dedicated cycle path - its a brilliant afternoon out. Less than a few minutes walk into town, a butchers, bakers etc - no big high street names just plenty of old fashioned shops and you can buy pretty much anything you can think of.
Would recommend this site, £19 for 2 adults with showers, ehu and wifi well worth it.

Convenient, in-town' site. Had not booked, but warmly welcomed and found a pitch. Unfortunately, the tent area of this site is flat and low-lying and it quickly became waterlogged during prolonged rain.
Toilet and Shower facilities were clean and well maintained.
We appreciated the availability of picnic tables as we were were using a small tent - also the willingness to re-freeze ice packs.
A good site, but we would not recommend it for tent campers.
