A lovely peaceful site in beautiful surroundings. You can pitch in the open, facing heath land, or in amongst the trees. There was plenty of room, and the stream that runs through the site was a delight to my two children. If you have children I would recommend taking extra trousers/shorts and socks as mine seemed to get through an awful lot during a weekend here.
Horses, ponies and rabbits were seen often, and come right into the camp.
Staff were friendly. There are no facilities at this site apart from water and waste disposal, so your own toilet is a must.
A lovely site that we would recommend and will be returning to soon.

We like to travel/explore and have never visited the same site twice. Until this one.
Aldridge Hill is a perfect escape for families. There are no facilities (apart from a water tap and a waste emptying point). There are no white pegs to park against. There are no hard standings. There are no silly rules.
A wonderful and beautiful site.
If you like socializing, being near nature, watching your kids play in a stream then this is the place for you.
If you like to own your pitch and would not want people walking across your pitch then it is not for you.
The Forestry commission do a great job at this site. They understand that the forest benefits nature, the horses and even people too. There are rope swings that are not cut down, children in the stream most of the day everyday. Ponies regularly walk through the site.
You can choose to be in the shade under a tree or in the open with a wonderful view of the sunset.
A great location to go with friends with a mix of units/tents. You can pitch however you want and form your own little circle as we saw some people doing.
Both times that we have been there has been plenty of space. Although I'm not sure how you would fit in 200 units and retain that same spacious feel.
We loved it and so did our kids. I'm sure we'll be back again.

We have just returned from a 3 night stay at this site, during the May school hols. Although busy it did not feel to packed. Unlike other forestry sites this one did not appear to have any seasonal site campers, but full of families with children like ourselves, which was great!
Brockenhurst is just up the road, hosting shops, cafes, banks etc. Watch out for the highland bulls roaming the streets of the town, amazing!
Also try ford farm horse riding stables, for £18 the kids go horse riding in the forest. Any age welcome. And don't forget fishing nets as a stream runs through the site.

This is the first site we visited with our caravan (having been tenters before), so we thought we would visit a no facilities site for a weekend away. We couldn't have hoped for a more picturesque and peaceful site, the views were beautiful and we saw so much wildlife. Our younger kids had so much fun splashing about in the streams that flow through the site, whilst spotting ponies that were nearby. We walked cross country into Brockenhurst, which was a lovely walk across heathland and again saw loads of ponies. Will definitely be returning next year.

We've stayed at previous forest holiday sites and have not been disappointed, and again we were not disappointed. This is a lovely site, even though the kids are on holidays it was not to packed. Someone wrote on a review about this site that there was nothing for miles. Not sure what they meant the site is set in the beautiful New Forest, there is a stream running through the site which is good for the kids and is quite shallow for a paddle. The ground here is level, there is a wooded area which is more suitable for tents. You do need your own toilet and wash facilities on this site as there are no facilities here. The staff are very friendly and the site is patrolled reguraly so is quite secure. The New Forest ponies and cows roam at their leisure which is lovely to see. There is a hotel about 10mins walk down the road called the New Forest hotel which has a bar and is open to non-residents. The site is close to Brockenhurst village. You can walk it in 15-20mins the village has lovely shops it has a hardware shop at the end of the road which stocks a good supply of camping equipment, there is a lovely bakers and a really good butchers. In the other direction is the Rheinfield house hotel which is lovely we stayed there for a weekend a couple of years ago and revisited for a cup of morning coffee. It took us about 15mins to cycle there is open to non-residents it has lovely grounds to walk around the staff are very relaxed there considering it is quite an exclusive hotel. Well worth a visit.
All in all I would give this site a 10 and cannot wait to return.

LOVELY site, but miles from anywhere - which makes it perfect for viewing the night sky! The ponies aren't shy of wandering into an open tent or two so beware. When we visited there were loads of families staying - it's ideal for kids because it's quiet, there's masses of space to play games, the stream is fantastic for paddling. All in all it's a superb site for anybody who isn't bothered about the lack of facilities!

We stayed here for one night - it was lovely - lots of ponies and a stream running through which is so shallow the kids can go in it. There aren't any toilets so remember your own! You can get to Brockenhurst without having to go on a road on a bike (well except for the road into the site). Great. Really cheap site for four - £8.20 but there aren't any facilities. Really good site - well worth it!
