A lovely area that I would recommend to anyone, the Craster Arms in Beadnells does lovely food, home made chips and a few veggie options. The best thing about this site was the direct access to the beach. I was dubious about the toilet and shower facilities given other reviews here, but they were ok - basic but clean. Some soap for washing hands would have been good.
Now to the downsides:
There was no warden about when I arrived but a note on the door showed where my pitch was. The warden showed up as I was levelling my caravan and did offer to help. Unfortunately he didn't mention that I needed a code to access the toilet/shower facilities! Luckily another camper gave it to me when I needed it.
I had to clean some litter up on the pitch, including a wire coat hanger which could have posed a danger to dogs or children.
There was a sign at the site entrance stating that dogs were to be kept on lead but unfortunately some did not adhere to the rule.
A member of staff was rude to my guests and told them they were not welcome. Unfortunately I wasn't there at the time but he told them that visitors were not allowed to park on pitches. I did note that most of the other caravanners had visitors coming and going and some had more than one vehicle on their pitch most of the time.
There is not a tap at the waste disposal and there was no separate drain for grey waste. I was not able to lift my grey waste tank to empty it in the drain provided.

What a fantastic site, set in the dunes, the location, peacefulness and tranquillity of this site is outstanding. We had a lovely pitch set in the sand dunes with its own little private BBq area with chairs and a table, secluded and no one really ' looking ' in on you.
Toilets and showers are basic, but yet you get what you pay for, I think and as we use our caravans facilities never actually used them so didn't bother us. No one bothers you although there was the warden nipping about on a tractor if we had needed any help.
Shop is in Beadnell which sells most things, pub is a walk across the fields, but do lovely meals up to 9 pm but recommend to go early as things were sold out by the time we got there at 8 pm.
The beach is great, ideal for leisurely walks in an evening. All in all, great little site, hoping to return next year for 2 weeks.

What a superb location, fantastic beach, huge sand dunes, large field for football etc. Lots of peace and quiet, quiet site, no shop but chip shop which did not look too hot from inside was excellent and well stocked grocers only short walk from site. Could only go back if had caravan with own shower. Great site on the whole , the only thing wrong with this site was the toilet and shower huts and no dish washing area. The toilets had paper but were not clean

Points mentioned in other reviews are mostly valid.
Poor shower block, wooden hut, unheated, roof leaks with rainwater pouring past electric light fittings. Hot water, toilet paper. No soap. No shaver points. No towels or driers. Clean.
Fab location. Yards off beach. Half mile from harbour.
Elusive staff.
Would go back again for peace, quiet and natural beauty except that It is very expensive for what you get - £20/NIGHT!

We found this site very disappointing. We arrived just after lunch and couldn't find any staff. There was a notice posted with our pitch number on it but the pitch we were allocated was already taken and looked to be in use by a seasonal caravan. The row of pitches we were allocated to were concrete hardstandings which are a great idea but difficult to get on to accurately and very difficult to pitch an awning beside. We pitched on the next pitch and went to check out the toilets and other facilities. The toilets were filthy. Basic we don't mind but these were awful. We spent the afternoon finding another site and pulled off the pitch about 7.00pm to move to a farm site a few miles away but a world away in terms of standards. In our time on the site we never saw the warden or manager at all. We forfeited our £20 deposit but it was worth it to get away on to a better site. The site owners obviously are more concerned with the income from all the statics on the site than providing good quality facilities for tourers.

The review below is obviously for the wrong site - sounds like the camping and caravanning club site. No tents allowed at this site. The location for this site is fantastic, just behind the dunes, 2 min walk to the beach. Lots of static caravans on site but there is a separate area for tourers. The owner appears once a day for a few minutes so no authority on site - maybe its different in the summer. Approx half the touring pitches are fully serviced, hardstanding. Toilet block leaves a lot to be desired (wood hut), lights must be on a timer as early evening (dark in October) no lights. Showering by torchlight is no fun ! If being near the beach is more important than the facilities this is the site to go to.

This is a lovely site, manager very friendly. Toilet and shower block very clean. It is close to the main road but you do get used to the noise, it did not bother us. Beach just across the road ideal for walking. As it is a camping club site we love the rules of no noise after 11Oclock we will definitely go back very soon.

We stayed Bank Holiday weekend and the site was full. There seems to be a few places for tourers, felt we were quite lucky where we were as only 2 tourers and very near to the toilets (which are extremely dated - a hut in fact) and in need of modernisation. They were cleaned daily but still leaves a lot to be desired. The main touring field looked quite cramped. Site is in a fantastic location 1 mins walk from the lovely Beadnell Bay Beach and Harbour which is almost undiscovered, dogs allowed too. Seahouses nearby and Bamburgh Castle a mere drive way. Would return to this site purely for the location and the lovely country walks and small villages nearby.

September 2004 We have been to this site several times and love it. It is right on the beach, just around the corner from two pubs in Beadnell itself and you feel a million miles from anywhere. Be warned though, the toilet blocks are a far cry from the Caravan Club Site - they are tidy but you have to share them with quite a few spiders. This doesn't bother us, in fact it adds to the charm. We will definitely be back in 2005.

Sept 2003 Our first visit to this site - Sept 2003 and we'll certainly be going back. The site is situated immediately behind the sand dunes at Beadnell.
Firstly Beadnell is a large bay about 2 miles long. The tide goes out for about 300 yards leaving the most enormous expanses of hard sand for walking miles. There is a bird sanctuary just inland. You can walk beyond the end of the sandy beach on public footpaths to Low Newton and even further to Dunstanburgh Castle, about 7 miles away. It's a beautiful area. Beadnell village has a small shop and a fish and chip shop with a few pubs which serve food too.
Beadnell Bay is ringed by sand dunes. The site is immediately behind the dunes, which offer protection from the weather but also cut out the view. Views from the site are mainly towards the fields inland.
The majority of the site is static caravans. Tourers are pitched beside the entrance and have drains, electricity, water and sewage disposal here. However, there is another plot for tourers actually situated amongst the dunes. This has no drainage and its further for the other facilities, but is a fantastic setting. You have to ask for this.
There isn't any entertainment or pub on site. It's a quiet centre. There are plenty of kids around who seem to spend their time cycling, wind surfing, or skateboarding whilst hanging on the end of a kite/parachute device. (Not sure what you call it).
This place is definitely a walker, nature lovers, sea sports paradise. No glitzy entertainment in any shape or form.
This is now my favourite site. Ideal for dogs.
