We stayed for 4 nights and then moved to a different site due campers in front of use all competing with each other with their tv's and radios!
What a shame, this site has so much potential. We booked on account of their website, which has been put together very well and sells the site. However, we were told when we booked that the restaurant wouldn't be open on the Saturday night due to a private function in the bar, but chef may produce some bar food. This didn't happen so we drove to benllech for fish and chips, so not a problem.
The restaurant we found out later that it only opens on a Friday an Saturday. The bar remained shut until my husband had a word with the barman who had a word with the owner. It was opened for a couple of hours. The reason given was they only open it during the summer! Both the bar and restaurant are to a high standard and the menu looks fabulous.
The outdoor swimming pool was closed and we did use the indoor swimming pool which although it was small was ok. There are no shower facilities or changing facilities in the pool area, which meant a trek across the field to the shower block!
There does still appear to be building work going on ( a conservatory).
The site is mainly statics and lodges with a central area lined with trees for shade for the campers and is very well maintained. It is all very clean. The showers and toilets are clean also.
It was good value for money. A shop would be advantageous for essentials. Everyone was very friendly.

The web site sold this site to us but unfortunately it didn't live up to our expectations. The outdoor pool was closed and the indoor pool was barely heated if at all! Far too cold for us.
There was a lot of 'bricking up going on'. We took a shower with our flip flops on and the facilities could have been cleaner.
Having said that the restaurant food and quality was superb - a little Faulty towers, young lad had to get prompted by maybe the owner who was eating on the table next to us and they couldn't print us out an itemised bill at the end of the meal. The restaurant just didn't feel like it was on the same site!
We went out and visited Beaumaris jail which was very interesting as really the site didn't offer much else for us.
Would have been good value if it lived up to the web site.

Phoned for a pitch in half term - said they were not that busy so just to turn up. There are no hard standing pitches and the grass was soggy due to lots of rain. Still a lot of building work going on. The site was very noisy at night - with large groups of teenagers causing havoc - messing up the toilets and making lots of noise. There was a do on at the club on the Friday night - which went of until the early hours and those leaving the club carried on making lots of noise, where the kids has left off. Overall - too noisy as no cut off time for noise on the site and children left to run riot all night. We have a child and would not let them run riot like that. The toilets were adequate, showers nice and hot - but a shelf or stool to put your things on to stop them getting wet would be useful. Indoor swimming pool pump broke and not fixed whilst we were there in half term!

Booked two pitches together two months in advance but when we arrived the owner didn't now where the spaces were and we were not together.
This site is £38 pound per night and the money is obviously spent on a nice bar and a new restaurant. Although the bar charged £1. 50 for a can of Coke! Bit expensive and it seemed to be used mainly by the residents of the statics. It was quiet though and only the Karaoke night was heard but finished on time at 11. 30pm.
The toilets and showers were clean with plenty of hot water but I think the water pressure gets a bit low at times.
The pitches themselves, only 18 of them, are too close to the road. By the time you have put a windbreak for cooking you can just about park your car. This is not a big field type of site and we felt very cramped.
The children's play area, climbing frame etc, is next to the main building but the trees could do with cutting back. The playing field and games room is near the front gate and is not visible from the tent area so the younger children could not play on thier own.
Some one mentioned a shop but this has now gone. There is a small Spar etc in Benllech and Asda in Llangefni.
The pools are a bonus with some work still in progress on the indoor pool but this was not a problem.
We love Anglesey and would return to the island anytime and would always recommend it.

Stayed at ty newydd in june10 11 12 long weekend. 4 couples all with 5/6 man tents Friday to Sunday £17a night bargain. Great site although there was work in progress throughout the site on the Friday new lodges being built about 300yrds to the rear of the site but no problems to us. Two swimming pools small bar and busy restaurant in the main block. Site for campers had good toilets x4 and showers x4 always clean and tidy. We had a bbq every night with no problems and a small campfire in the 2 notebook bbqs we had set up with small logs great days!weather was fab and really we were left to our own devices by the owners who popped by once to say hello. The site has statics tourers in situ and camping pitches all in different areas. We walked to benllech on the top path through the statics area 20\30 mins walk great beach and a few shops londis \ spar ect. Will visit ty newydd again very nice I bet it gets overbooked in the summer holidays with the outdoor and indoor pools and small tots play park.

Unfortunately we have been very disappointed with our return to this site, We visited 2 years ago and whilst we knew the site was quite expensive @ £38 Per night we thought the facilities on offer would justify this.
We arrived and the site was half the size and resembled a building site! We were not informed on the telephone that they were building lodges on the majority of the touring/camping area.
They had also closed the shop and in it's place was a wooden hut which opens at night to sell sweets, in this hut is the pool table which used to be in the children's area of the bar (this no longer exists) and the hut is not visible from the bar.
The pool is still unfinished 2 years on, my daughter cut her foot on the sharp edges of the mosaic tiles and was told she was the 3rd person that week to do this! Most days they didn't bother to open the outdoor pool the one day it was open was when the campers did it themselves!
The toilet block was clean with free hot water but is looking a little unloved. The bar which has been stylishly redecorated is now very overpriced a bar meal of burger & chips would set you back £10!
We were extremely disappointed and most definitely will not be returning,
The only plus side of the laid back attitude of the site owners is that you can leave when you like most people packed up around 1 o'clock ish, the problem with this was when we arrived the owner seemed unsure if there were any pitches free and sent me to have a look even though we had booked and paid a month in advance!
The surrounding area is lovely but we will be looking for another site to stay at when we visit again!

Spent a week here recently, 2 adults and 3 kids in a motor home. I was a bit worried about leaving our pitch to go touring just in case it had been taken when we got back, but they said we could put up a 2 man tent to reserve it which was great as we kept some of stuff in there.
The indoor pool is a bit rough at the moment because they are working to improve it, it looks rather tatty but at least its open, they could have shut it to do the work which wouldn't have been strictly necessary and we were grateful for that. The outdoor pool is clean and cold, just as you'd expect. The clubhouse is lovely but a bit expensive, didn't eat in the restaurant as its a bit pricey, nor did we eat in the bar as there are no prices on the menu!
The toilets and showers are spotless thanks to Sharon who is lovely! The laundry is great, had some great chats in there waiting for my turn with the tumble dryer. Bit of a downer that only one washing machine is working.
Was wary of reports about naughty teenagers. Yes, they are there but spend their time down at the football pitch each evening and they do seem to come from the statics. Didn't have much of a problem with them as they didn't tend to come over to the touring area.
I would go to the site again, its reasonably priced, a good base from which to tour and as the owners are doing a fair bit of work on the bar/restaurant/pool area its going to look really nice next year.

On arrival at the site approx 1pm Saturday, we were shown an aerial photograph of the site and the lady explained we could look around and find a free pitch. We chose one just near the shower block but we could just see the play area to watch the children, not too close to avoid any extra noise. The bar was good value particularly the bar meals the restaurant looked lovely but we were happy to eat in the bar (a bit cheaper). The bar also has air hockey and pool in a separate room mainly used by children, fabulous to keep them entertained. The outdoor pool was very nice and the indoor pool was a welcome break form the rain however this is not quite finished and is not easy to get in and out of for the less able. There are no children allowed between 9-10 & 5pm - 6pm in the indoor pool. There is an on site shop with very limited stock, however the children loved the sweets! There is a football pitch which is used also as the dog walking area when child free, unfortunately not everyone cleared up after their dog! The showers were extremely clean and always hot, considering the site was very muddy the showers were particularly well kept.
Overall I would recommend the site as the children loved it and it has very good facilities, the only negatives were it was very water logged, it was probably the wettest week ever but the pitches near the bar completely flooded one caravan had to move whilst their son played happily knee deep in the pond that had formed outside their awning! So consider this if pitching near the bar. Also a couple of nights the noise on site later on was a little loud with teenagers playing late on the site, they did respond however as soon as a camper told them to be quiet. The walk to the beach is lovely probably take about 20- 30 mins the dog loved it, it is probably a little far to walk there and back with all your beach stuff.Benlech beach also has dog restrictions in place and when the tides in you can't take your dog on the main beach.

It was a bit expensive at £32 a night but it had a pool. Club etc. But not worth it.
There was one toilet block which thankfully was not closed during cleaning and the lady did a good job but the cleaning agent bleached your clothes if you got it on them.
The main problem with the site is lack of maintenance on the areas that don't bring in additional money. The club and the restaurant was well maintained as was the outdoor pool. But, the rest of the site could do with a bit of TLC and supervision. People made a lot of noise until all hours with groups of teenagers running riot and making a racket. The same teenagers hang around the children's play park most of the time and our children felt intimidated as there seemed to be a bit of a 'click' as there was in the club.
You never see anyone checking the site, people seemed to let their dogs wander off and foul the site which I had no intention of cleaning up. But there was no one patrolling to deal with such matters. Waste disposal consists of a huge open skip
The pitches were O.K. And the electric hookup was extremely efficient.
I didn't use the wifi but thought it was a great idea.
There is not enough lighting around the touring pitches. The site has several unfinished projects eg the indoor pool.
With more TLC to all areas if the site and a site manager/security as well as more efficient lighting this could be one of the best sites on the island.

Just spent 5 days at this campsite what a ball we have had the pitches with electric hook up were excellent you chose youre own pitch which I thought was great chose one that was perfect for us. The swimming pools indoor and outdoor were great had to fight to get the kids out the play area /park was great for the kids.Showers were clean and hot toilets clean, laundrette was clean the free iron was a great idea. We had a meal in the bar 1 night which was lovely and average prices, if you want a proper meal go into the restaurant but it is pricey but value for money like a a la carte restaurant. The bar staff couldn't be nicer and friendlier. Will be going back next year
