With two kids and a dog, I found this site exceptionally welcoming and friendly. They have developed a relaxed, informal and beautifully clean and tidy site that makes you feel welcome from arrival.
The children's playground is for younger children but that suited my two as did the children's garden. The herb garden was useful for making that nights tea a bit more special.
The toilet block has lovely showers and the selection of sprays, creams and lotions were a lovely added treat. It was always clean whenever I was there.
A short drive takes you back into Girvan or 5 minutes takes you to the local shop, though they sells lots of odds and ends from the site shop - he always has time for the kids when the want a sweetie!
Well worth visit.

What a great site. Visited last year and enjoyed it so much we went again this year and stayed in their rental static van.
It is a small quiet site with great managers who always make you feel welcome. The toilets and showers are always clean and tidy with plenty of hot water and there is also a laundry with everything you need.
The site is well looked after and a great friendly place to visit. There is a small play area for the kids and they are also made to feel welcome.
There is lots to do in the surrounding area and would recommend a visit to Culzean castle as well as the beaches in the area. Stranraer has a good leisure pool and Ayr has a great indoor play area for the kids (Pirate Pete's).
I would highly recommend a visit to this site you will not be disappointed, As I said we have already been back and are already planning next years visit.

This is a real hidden gem of a site. A very peaceful location and an ideal base for visiting the attractions of Ayrshire & Galloway (of which there are plenty).
The facilities and the site generally are kept in pristine condition. Please note if you're camping you will need rock pegs.
Culzean Castle is well worth the drive as is harbour town of Girvan and the Cream O' Galloway Ice Cream Factory.
However it was our hosts who made our stay most memorable. They were always available to help with any little problems (such as trying to pitch your tent in high winds) directions and info on the local area.
They showed genuine concern for our comfort and they never stopped smiling. We were even offered additional blankets to keep the kids warm. They made us feel right at home.
All-in-all this is a great site!

Upon arrival the site warden came out to meet us and told us to pick any pitch we wanted as we have a very large van.
He came down to help us get set up.
The water tap next to van is accompanied on a good hard level pitch.
There is very good amenities block only accessed by key. There is a small play area for children also a small shop on site.
Girvan is about 10 miles away, all in all very much like the other reviews.
Cant fault this site, so much so we have taken a seasonal pitch on the strength of how we were treated on arrival
There are not many wardens like this one a real gent and always looking for ways to improve the site he has a real passion for the people staying there weather they are in tent or static.
So don't pass this by thinking (oh doesn't look much) as appearances are very deceiving.

I booked this site as my sons friends family where in a static in the site across the road. The current warden has only been there for about 18 months and has been working well to get the site up to a good standard. It's a hidden gem of a site.
Although it was pouring when I arrived the site warden was out to help me pitch, he was very helpful, helped me make sure the caravan was level. It's a small quiet site with a mixture of statics and tourers (some sited). The village of Barrhill is about 1 - 2 miles walk up the road for the basics, although there is a shop with basics on site but I didn't try this.
The facilities were spotless, toilets and waste rooms in a very good condition. Your EHU and water are on your individual hardstanding pitch, so very handy.
We went into Girvan for the day, the site is about 12 miles south of there. It was a nice day and the kids enjoyed the beach and the play area. The pedal boats where out on the small lake too. Only £2. 50 for 4 people for 20 mins, certainly won't blow the budget. We had something from the chip shop for dinner, very nice.
The following day we took a run to Newton Stewart swimming pool. It is part of the local high school and it is only a pool but the kids still enjoyed themselves.
It is by far the best value site I have been only £15 a night.
The only negative I have is the location. The drive there from Girvan is along a country road, to be fair with not a lot of traffic. If you are with company then this is ideal but I was on my own with 3 boys so for me it was just a wee bit too isolated.

Liked the site so much I bought a static on it.
New toilet & shower block one of the cleanest I have seen for a long time, entry by key only.
The manager who never seems to stop, nothing is too much for him.
There are 30 touring pitches for tents/caravans etc.
Located on the A714 about a Mile from the small village of Barrhill and about 11 miles from Girvan.
The pub in the village is very friendly as are the locals.
Good base for days out on the Ayrshire coast.

Situated between Newton Stewart and Girvan this quiet site is ideal for the many attractions this area of Scotland has to offer.
The site is set out in tiers with statics and tourers, when we called the obliging owner told us to go any where we liked which we thought was great. We noticed other people doing the same, its funny how difficult it can be to find the best spot when you can go anywhere you want! Although I doubt this would be the case at busy times.
The toilet block and showers must rank as among the best I have come across, spotless, and is a credit to this hard working couple, Sue and Steve, who never seem to stop from morning till night, nothing is too much trouble, I even saw one bloke calling at their bungalow at 10.30pm to see if Steve could retrieve a DVD stuck in the back of his telly.
You don't get that at the caravan club.
All in all a very pleasant site with great facilities, and handy for the lovely Ayrshire coast.
