Me and my Wife recently married and decided to have a small honey-moon in Wales, After driving around the Monmouth Area for a couple of hours looking for somewhere to stay, we came across Monnow Bridge Caravan Site.
A small camp site, but very well situated near to the main town centre. A handful of static caravans on site, room for standard touring caravans and tents.
We stayed only for 2 nights and used it as a base and somewhere to return to after our days excursions.
There are an couple of great pubs and restaurants just over the bridge into the main town, The Robin Hood Pub and the Fish & Chip Shop are all good.
The Toilet block was immaculately clean, even though only one shower cubicle, only 20p for 3/4 minutes of hot water, quite reasonable.
The gate is closed late at night, but we we're able to find parking out on the main road, as we had broken down in Wenchford Woods, and didn't get back until 01:30.
The lady that greeted us on arrival was very friendly and polite, and very accommodating.
We will certainly be returning for repeated visits with the kids next time.
Thank you a very pleasant stay. Highly Recommended.

This campsite is ideally situated for a stopover or to visit the town in Monmouth because it is only a 2 minute walk into the town centre. Plenty of nice little shops, and also a couple of supermarkets like Waitrose, Marks and Spencers and Co-operative.
There is also a nice choice of pubs, all very down to earth and all serving food. The food in The Robin Hood was really nice and we'll certainly eat there again if we are ever in the area.
The campsite itself was very basic. I certainly wouldn't use the shower, there was only one in the ladies, this required a 20p piece for about 3 mins. Thank god for my motorhome shower.
We were charged £13:00 a night and to be honest it might be cheap but I wouldn't pay anymore for the facilities available were very poor.
All in all though, the people were pleasant and if you only want a town to visit within quick walking distance and plenty of pubs, this is the site for you.

Small, cosy site with excellent location to town. £11.50 1 adult in large tent. Would have been £10.50 but its a large 2 pp tent. Could only stay 1 night as 2 caravans booked in but they didn't show.
I was due to leave 8.45am & wanted to stay longer but couldn't get answer in office or phone as they don't open until 10am! Site is clean & tidy, with a mix of static caravans, tourers, motorhomes & tents.
Tents have a poor base in centre of park unless caravan space is free. Sited alongside the river, 5 mins walk on flat to the town, loads of pubs, restaurants, take-aways, shops, banks etc. Convenient base for travelling.

Look closely for the sign posted, as it is hanging from a building. We had a bit of difficulty seeing the site entrance which is between two buildings.
The site is very basic, but pleasant, toilets are dated but spotless, as were the shower facilities. This is a smaller site, with some statics, but at this time of year, we didn't have any trouble with space.
What makes this site attractive, aside from the very reasonable rates, is the close proximity to the town centre, with ample food shops, banks, restaurants, and pubs. Of course the famous Monnow Bridge is only a few minutes walk away. For people with a sense of history, this town is worth a visit, and we will certainly be back.

Just spent 3 nights here. Small site with a number of statics present and room for approx 10-12 caravans or campers. Very clean site, immaculate grass which drained rapidly despite hours of torrential rain and being next to the river. Toilets and showers basic but spotlessly clean, 40p gets you 6 mins of piping hot water.
Very close to Monmouth town centre which boasts the usual range of shops. Bus station is only 10 minutes walk from site and there seems to be a comprehensive service to the surrounding towns.
Lots of places to eat and drink in Monmouth itself, so something for everyone. Would recommend and return ourselves soon. At only £12.50 per night for 2 adults and ehu this has to be the bargain of the year.
Be aware of narrow lane leading between two buildings onto site, otherwise easily accessed from the main roads.

This is one of our favourite sites. The location is great, whether you want to stroll around the town, walk across the fields or beside the river. Also handy for the Forest of Dean & Wye Valley. Very good area for people who want to walk dogs.
Some static vans on the site.
Plenty of places to eat or takeaway nearby. Plus Waitrose and M&S Food only a few hundred yards.
Yes, the pitches can be small - but we'd rather get in and have a small pitch than be turned away. Having said that, we don't sit outside or have an awning. Owners are very friendly & helpful.
Toilet block is always spotless. I don't consider 20p for 3 mins hot water expensive. Washing-up facilities & books to borrow.
Will return again and again (if we can get in, there aren't that many pitches and it does tend to fill up).

Will definitely come again - slap bang in the town centre, very reasonable rates, spotlessly clean loos and shower (only 1 shower, though), very friendly and helpful staff.
Pitches not marked out, but plenty of room so this wasn't a problem. I can see that during a busy period one might get a smaller pitch, but the owners showed us exactly where to park, so I'm sure they would not leave too small pitches.

Great site for motorhomes! right in the town, yet nestled away on the the riverbank. Toilets/showers basic but clean (and free). Electric available and price very reasonable (std pitch=2pers+elec £12).
As many pubs/restaurants/takeaways as you can handle, all within walking distance, so no need to drive off-site. Town very pretty and river(s) picturesque.
Forest of Dean also close by and castle/ruins at Raglan worth a visit.
Weather was atrocious when we stayed, but because of proximity to town centre, it didnt dampen our spirits.
Would definitely stay again. Kids all grown up now so didn't notice really, but perhaps not much for toddlers/juniors on a rainy day!

Stayed here for a week; really great location as walking distance from town with shops & pubs and within easy driving of the Wye Valley where we did many walks. We had booked & were shown to our pitch which was not marked out so we only just had space for the caravan & car. The toilets were OK with hot water. Only 1 shower per sex, not very clean & cost 20p for 3mins - too expensive.

Really well located just over the bridge from town so very easy to walk to shops. We had prebooked & paid a deposit but they were more interested in us paying than giving us any information on the area. The pitches are not marked out so can be very small. We had to pay £2pn for the awning & the showers were 20p for 3 mins.
