August 2004 On arrrival at site the office was still closed and we were shown to our pitch by a polite young man, who obviously knew what he was doing, but I did find it a bit strange that we didn't need to book in til later that morning. Our pitch size was ok, opposite the park area, unfortunately we didn't realise how close the main road from Newquay to Perranporth was, directly behind the hedge (this can't be seen on the map of the site). The traffic starts about 5am and continues till about 9pm, so please just be aware if booking a pitch alongside the hedge. The park for children was a little on the small side and there was no open area for ball games yet caravanners pitched around the park area, with no children did not want the children playing near their vans but there was no-where else for them so my advice to them in future is to pitch away from a play area for children. The site staff seemed ok, apart from the fact I don't think one knew what the other was doing. Showers and toilet area were both okay and the shop on site was reasonable. The outdoor pool was cold but as mentioned in the first review didn't stop my children going in either. All in all not a bad site but there is room for improvement.

August 2003 This site is based on the main Newquay to Perranporth road. The site is behind a steak house pub which we didn't visit but looked ok and seemed very busy. When we got there I thought the pitches were close together but having been to other Cornish campsites since I realise this is par for the course and actually they were ok! You are either pitched at the side of the road or around a field either of which is fine as there is also space for the kids to play ball games etc.
The site has a good kids playground and a pool which isn't heated but didn't stop our kids going in at 10am!
The facilites are fine - there are plenty of them and the showers were hot with plenty of space (ie bigger than the door frame!). The shop is well stocked with the usual provisions.
I did prebook this site and was then told I would have to pay £8 for doing so but by then I had gone through all the details so paid it but had I realised I probably wouldn't have!
All in all I didn't think this site was bad for Newquay area.
