 On the face of it - a nice little site, with all the ameneties, close to the beaches of the Baie de Somme and the charming seaside town of Le Crotoy. In reality, we found the place to be an absolute nightmare.
We were a party of 21 persons, aged between 2 and 78 years, in three caravans and four tents. When we arrived we found the pitches we had been allotted were not big enough for the caravans, even though we were assured that they would be. After much deliberation we were given a space on a field that was normally used as a visitor's car park.
There were the usual rules and regulations that one finds on french campsites, unfortunately the management were reluctant to enforce them. We were bombarded with loud music at all hours of the day and night from young campers with bass-heavy 'boogie boxes' and with the inevitable noise from campers and local people coming out of the club at 2.00 in the morning. On four seperate occassions the Gendarmes had to be called out to deal with trouble. One time there was a running battle between rival gangs of campers, with bottles and rocks being thrown!
We complained several times to the managers, and after a while we became a target for late night shouted abuse from boorish french youths who seemed to object to the fact that we were English.
At the end of the fortnight we demanded a sizable reduction in our camping fees, and were giving it with no argument whatsoever. This speaks for itself I think.
To conclude; we loved the area and would happily visit again, but not to this awful campsite!
