Stayed here for long weekend in bitter cold weather If you want peace and quiet, then this site is not for you, it was like camping on a roundabout The toilet and shower area had no heating and was extremely cold to use . Glad we had our own Nice area at the bottom of the site for the children to play Local shop less than 5 minute walk away, and traffic was not to fast moving Handy for sightseeing in the Salisbury area but thought it was rather expensive for what was there The company made it for us rather than the site

February 2005 This site is small and in nicer weather it would be ideal for a w/end away if you just want a base for sleeping. If you want total peace and quiet then the noise from the dual carriageway and the industrial site could be a problem. The toilet blocks were freezing, the windows always seemed to be open but the site was full with us lot there (16 units at the UKCampsite.co.uk Meet) and we didn't have to queue at all. The washing up area was inside which was great. The kids loved the park at the top of the hill and found plenty of places to make dens and rope swings. The owners were very friendly but I think £16 for one night in February on a site this small is a little steep.

February 2005 Came here as part of the UKCampsite.co.uk Meet. The site is a small site and is located close to the A36, however the noise did not affect us in the slightest as it was mainly only busy during the day and that is when we were out and about enjoying the area. Of an evening I did not even notice the road at all (and we were outside each evening!).
The site has a mixture of hardstanding and grass pitches and some of them can be a little tight to get the van into but everyone that was with us managed ok. This is one long site with pitches on either side and with a turning circle at the top with some further pitches.
The childrens playarea was right at the top of the site, up a small hill, this was a great idea as it meant the kids could play safely and were far enough away from the units to not disturb the campers. They had swings and a climbing frame etc.
The toilet blocks were unheated so got pretty chilly in there when showering, but this was a weekend when it was due to snow, on a nicer weekend this wouldn't be a problem. There are 2 showers and two toilets for both male and female guests and this is adequate for a site this size. The showers were nice and hot but you couldn't adjust the temperature of them, so can be too hot for the littleluns.
There is an undercover washup area complete with microwave which is a great touch.
There is a great pub across the road offering fine looking food and great drinks, Stella, Guiness, guest ales etc.
There are a couple of shops in the local village, the first being literally 2 minutes from the site and the second a little further, suitable for all you daily needs, bread, milk, newspapers etc.
Sailsbury is about 5 minutes away in the car with all that Salisbury has to offer, cathedral, history, pubs, shops etc. There is a large Tesco superstore about 5 mins from the site as you head into Salisbury. There is also a wealth of activities available in the area to keep the family happy, Stone Henge, Old Sarum, Bournemouth (20 mins) etc.
Overall the site could do with a couple of tweeks to improve, heating in the toilet blocks, proper steps up to the park, but other than that, a good site that served its purpose for the weekend.

July 2004 Small site with very friendly owner.
Toilets clean and enough for all of us there (was pretty full up come our 2nd night). Outside lights on the blocks left on so we didn't need to worry about a torch.
Road noise a bit of an issue if you are a light sleeper!
Couple of nice pubs in walking distance.
Very handy site for our trips to Salisbury and Kingston Lacy.
If you want a couple of nights would recommend this site. Not much space for children to play but as we dont have any it wasnt an issue for us!

September 2003 We arrived in the dark and the owner was kind enough to leave all the outside lights on to help us see a little better.
An extremly clean campsite, but designed for a weekend visit to Sailsbury, definately no longer. There was a childs climbing frame at the top end, which is right next to a busy road, a wendy house and there is a good pub over the road.
No where really to walk a dog or two, except an Industrial Estate next door or waste land opposite, but there is a small shop literally 2 mins walk away. However the walking potential is superb providing you dont mind driving to where-ever first. A visit to Old Sarum is a must. Take a walk right down to the bottom and into the small wooded area - magical!

8th-10th August 2003 This was the only campsite in the whole of the south of England which we could get into at the last minute, having only decided to go away on the Friday night of the hottest weekend of the year! The owner seemed surprised that we had phoned ahead and appeared to be blissfully unaware of the fact that his campsite was the only one we had called who still had any space left!
We arrived very late at night, but the owner was waiting for us and was very friendly indeed. He gave us a nice spacious pitch under an old oak tree.
The site is very small and does not have a particularly pleasing layout. There is no field, just a track leading up the middle of the site, with a band of grass on either side on which to pitch. There is a 'roundabout' at the end to facilitate turning, and this roundabout also accomodates 4 pitches in the middle, so it is not a very good site for privacy.
Needless to say, people started turning up in greater numbers the next day and the owner really started to pack people in quite closely, although I think he is much more generous with space in quiet times.
The toilets and showers were reasonably clean (but only 2 ladies showers for 39 pitches), although there was limited changing space and the showers were of the push button swimming pool type, with only one setting (HOT!). In the evening, there was no hot water at all, although the owner did rectify this when I told him.
The only other issue with the site is that it is right next to the A36 and the traffic is VERY noisy and I am not one to normally mind traffic. There was also a lot of loud music from the nearby pub on one night we were there, but I think this was a one-off.
It cost us £10.50 a night for a tent, with a car and 2 people. It's good if you want to visit Salisbury, and we also cycled to Stonehenge through some amazing countryside (38 mile round trip on quiet lanes / bridleways with a few detours), but otherwise there didn't seem to be much else to do in the immediate area.
