We went here as it wasn't to far from home and it was the last weekend before kids going back to school.
On arrival staff friendly and explained all we needed to know.
we were on 49 and 50 pitch as we had two caravans in our party, in total four adults and one child.
It was a perfect spot as it was 1mins to the shower block, 2mins to the fishing pond and 5mins to the pool, bar and shop walking.
Plenty of kids, my son is 9yrs and made friends straight away.
We paid £32 for a weekend and the only other thing we had to pay for was £5 for fishing but you can fish all day and you have to use there keep nets. My husband caught the most he had ever caught and the biggest.
It was beautiful weather so we went to the heated swimming pool my son loved it, it was a little cold but even I took the pludge and used it all weekend.
The pub on site had everything, good food, kids play room, teenage area and entertainment suite which had bingo and live acts.
Will be going to this site when ever we get a free weekend.

What a disappointment, after passing through an aged static park to get to the touring section, the pitch was of good size and shielded by leylandi hedge,
there was a constant smell of foul sewerage,
the shower block were portable cabin type (20p for a shower), very dated and in want of refreshing,
A basic shop that!
A top price site that doesn't deserve the star credit it has achieved

Visited this site August bank holiday weekend and had a fantastic time.
Entertainment all weekend. Charity race night Friday, entertainer Saturday night, 3 live acts on the front pub garden Sunday, disco and even a pool party all of which was free. Really family friendly site and could even take the dog at no extra charge!
Would recommend this site to everyone especially families
Cant wait to visit again in October for there end of season Halloween party.

We have been to this site several times for a weekend, son, husband, dad and brother are all keen on fishing so ideal for them. The showers / toilets are dated but we have always found them clean, the man cleans them twice a day with lots of bleach, some people that use the site may be to blame as I have seen toilet paper pulled off the roll & left trailing the floor and a used "item" in the ladies left on the floor by the toilet when bins are provided. Ast time we went the swimming pool was closed as it was being re done. Good play area for younger kids and nice pub/club on site for older kids.

We have just spent 6 nights at Short Ferry and had a great time, although the showers & toilets could have done with a right good clean! There was only one washing up sink, and again, this could have done with a clean as the walls were covered in dead spiders & flies! I played bingo on friday night in the club, it started at 7.30 and finished at 9.30. There were 8 games in total, and each ticket is 20p and you can just play 1 game, or all 8! The prize money was worth winning, £5, £10 or £20 for a line and a full house was anything up to £130. Karaoke & a kids disco followed the bingo. We also played skittles on the wednesday which the kids enjoyed! The Swimming pool was free, although a bit cold! The fishing is free or you can pay £3.50 a day for the carpe lake and you can't fail to catch in here! We would go here again, but just wish the shower /toilet block was abit better!

We picked this site for the weekend because of the fishing facilities and we certainly were not disappointed. There is a free lake which we didn't use but the other lake was used by my husband and son on both days over the weekend. The pitches were a good size and well sheltered and we were surprised to see the standard charge that meant we didn't have to pay any extra for putting up the awning or taking the dog. The staff on site were really friendly and helpful and the site was lovely and clean. The only downside would be that the toilet facilities were a little tired but as the site doesn't allow tents I would imagine that most people have some facilities of their own. Plenty of walks for me and the dog while the boys were fishing so all in all it was a good weekend for everybody.

The staff are friendly enough, but the site is poor value for money for tourers in my opinion (£17 per night.) The toilet block were kept clean, but they are dilapidated. Only one loo worked, but there were only two. Portacabin ones were closed for winter, only two showers at the touring field. Only one washing up sink. The facilities stank - I trust that was temporary, something to do with the drains. Very few water points. My EHU point had come off its post and was tied on with nylon line. The shop and pool were closed for renovation, so not really a lot for the money. The pub was very reasonably priced for both drinks and food, but it is something of a "club" for the folk from hundreds of static vans; no doubt this atmosphere would be less noticeable in summer. The pitch fee included lake fishing which might just make the high fee a little better value, for those who like angling.

Had a great time here, meeting new friends, kids kept well amused with their facilities golf, play area . Pub/club was very nice. On the downside the toilet block did leave a bit to be desired, but could cope with it for a weekend.
Will go back

We arrived late at the campsite and had been told to ask in the pub. The lady was helpful and told us to pitch and sort out payment etc. In the morning. The pitches were a good size and well sheltered by bushes. The pub was great and the food just what we needed after a long drive. The only thing they neglected to tell us was that we would need a key to get into the toilet block so this was the first thing we did in the morning as we had to wait outside the toilet blocks until someone else was going in or out to let us in. The toilet blocks were pretty grotty and it looked like you needed tokens for the showers. They could have done with a good clean as well! The pool was warm and the lady in the shop ensured that children were accompanied by an adult. The shop sold the basic essentials and the lady was very friendly. All in all we had a great stay on this friendly campsite and would consider a longer stay if the toilets were improved.

August 2005 Just got back after spending 4 nights there. Having read the reviews, I was concerned about the toilet / shower facilities. The facilities were cleaned twice a day and I always need to use them when the chap was cleaning them. The kids enjoyed the play area and the swimming pool. I even went into the pool, although it was colder than I expected. Our 1st night was frightening for the kids as we had thunder and lightening, it cut our electric for a while but the next day was glorious and every day after that was. I was hoping to book for next year as we enjoyed ourselves that much, but as of 30/09/05 the site isn't taking bookings for tents, hugely disapointed, but we had a great time this year, so we'll have to find somewhere else thats as good.
