What this site lacks in facilities it more than makes up for it in the friendliness and location.
The residents in the permanently sited vans are very welcoming, friendly and helpful.
The owner is very laid back and always on hand to offer advice.
Troon town centre is a short walk (10mins), the beach is no more than 5mins.
The local swimming pool and a Morrisons supermarket are also within 10mins walk.
We will definitely return.

Quiet site, two small toilet blocks (cold water only), one with electric shower.
Train track close by but they stop at 11ish and then start in the morning.
Mostly sited caravans but a few cyclists there and a couple of campervans. Gas available.
Paid £10 for the night.

Very basic little camp site as explained by the last reviewer. £13. 00 per night with electric hook up. If you like everything modern etc this is not the site for you.
2 Toilets in a block, clean but old, no hot tap only cold. Painted brick walls. Shower and 1 loo in other block. Shower worked fine 1st night, second night went from hot to cold, could have been my fault. New triton shower in gents my hubby says.
If you don't mind the odd cobweb its fine. I usually stay on bigger more modern sites at a good £6. 00 or more a night dearer than this site. Then I asked myself what for, I only use the EHU and a shower, and we are never on the site during the day, so this site was fine.
Guy who runs it very helpful and always cutting grass etc. Down side for some folk would be the trains running right next to the site along a high embankment, as with the other reviewer didn't bother me. Friendly site, mainly residents who leave caravans all year I think. 1/2 a mile from Morrisons supermarket and the shops, and a bit further maybe a mile to beach.
Very tight drive in to site with owners house on one side and an old wall on other side. Caravan site is surrounded by this old wall.

This is a small secluded site. It is very basic with a very small brick built toilet block with 2 stalls each. Hot water only available in the shower block which is separate.
Laundry facilities is a sink, and there is one waste disposal (brick 'chimney' on the grass). Every pitch has an electric hook up available.
PROS: Cheap, very close to town centre and all facilities, friendly
CONS: On flight path and right next to busy railwayline.
Although the noise factor does seem offputting, I must admit it didn't bother us in the slightest and we are heading back this weekend. It is very basic so if you like good facilities this is not your going to be your cup of tea.
However the site owner is very friendly and accommodating and does not charge extra for awnings and dogs (Bonus), It is a very small site and a lot of the pitches here are permanent residents so it is a quiet and friendly site and one I will definitely make use of again in the future.
The surrounding area is a smallish town, with a very long golden beach a few shops, little cafes, chip shops and a championship golf course. Excellent for walking. The campsite is less than a mile from the town centre and all above facilities.
